Absolutely worth a visit, for kids and adults. Create and/or decorate your own masks under the supervision of one of their instructors. The workshop looks like heaven for anyone who likes doing arts and crafts! For decorating a mask, you should calculate more or less one hour. You get to choose your mask and the way you want to decorate it.

One of the best mask stores on the island run by two very nice ladies. No sales pressure and wonderfully intricate works.

An amazing shop. To get something made locally was really good. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Our mask from Venezia is now on the wall.

In 2019, we loved our experience at Ca'Macana in their private mask making studio. We had a family of three with two adults and one 10yo who loves art and creation. Our class was in a private room with two instructors. The instructors were patient with our mask making learning curve. Each of us got to select two mask shapes to paint and design. If I remember correctly, they had approximately 10 painting styles to select from. We each selected our two mask shapes and the painting style of our choice. Their education about the venetian masks was in depth and very educational! One main instructor assisted each of us of how to create a style that suits our liking. We felt comfortable with every task, some of us "me" had taken more time with my perfectionism, where my husband and child were several steps ahead :). The lead instructor was very patient with us 'me' finalizing our two mask per person project. We would totally do this again, but only when the pandemic is over and the temperature is cooler. We were there in July 2019, and it was hot, hot, hot! However, the studio did have light a/c cooling, compared with other shops that had none during the 100+ temps most of the day and into the evening. Overall, what a memorable and spectacular experience! Our masks are totally on full display in our home studio! Thank you Ca' Macana for an unforgettable experience!

My friend and I had a wonderful experience making masks at Ca’Macana. David is patient, knowledgeable about the history of masks in Venice, and his family has been making masks for a long time. He offered great suggestions, working with us step-by-step and listening to our ideas. I also like that we didn’t need to come back the next day to complete our projects. Highly recommended.

Similar to other mask shops, they have a mask making shop nearby they'll give you a map so you can see how they're made. Masks are the generic molds like plague doctor and jokers, nothing innovative but it's a souvenir place so prices are competitive while still being quality. If looking to buy a mask, not a bad place to stop as there are also higher quality mask shops nearby.

Many beautiful masks here, some literal works of art. They also have a good selection of blank masks for you to decorate for yourself. They're off the beaten path, but worth the effort to locate. They're among the best.

Oh the choices we have! After doing some research to find an authentic Venetian mask shop, I came across CA'Macana. A good variety of the many styles could be found here. I advise to do some historical research on the various styles and meanings to select a perfect match mask.

The staff were super nice and made us so welcome, it’s unbelievable for Venice. They did not push us to buy nor annoyed for trying, the whole experience from the second we walked into shop to when we purchased was exceptional. I had a minor request on hat which was done on their workshop in no time! Be prepared as everything in the shop is beautiful so will make you buy it all!

Quaint traditional Venetian masks store, please don't fall for the fake made in China masks from the window shops along the Grand river. The owner and artist of these masks was a very nice lady and so were the coworkers. Their designs are pretty unique, creative and though a bit pricey that's what their art is worth. Please support local shops and their traditional handcrafted masks.

Fabulous shop, excellent customer service, shipping prompt and with great attention to detail. Would not hesitate to order more masks as gifts! Must visit and buy a piece of tradition while you are in Venice!

We had a fun experience with my 8 year old son. The staff was friendly and helpful. I think that aside from the museums and sightseeing, this is a must if you want to have an activity to do while in Venice. For all ages.

Unique Venetian mask store. They make all their items in-house rather than importing them from China. In addition to classic styles they have their own unique designs. The store allows you to pick up the masks and take pictures if you are polite and careful enough. I bought several masks as gifts for friends, and the shopkeepers take great care in wrapping each item.

Beautiful, hand-made masks. The staff is very friendly and they let you try on the masks freely which makes the experience much more fun. Plus, they have masks for all budgets: the one I took home is one of these and it was only 35€

The location of the workshop was a little bit dificult to find... you can use google maps but don't rely on it... i had my earbuds on and i listened the indications instead of watching on the phone... worked pretty good. the staff at the shop were very friendly, especially the young tall girl with culry hair who modelled for me a white mask 🤭... (if you read this review i want to tell you i enjoyed every minute talking to you and hope i will see you again ☺️🤗) the masks are incredibly beautifull, hand made by the local artists, with care and attention to details... you can also do your own mask in the workshop, if you have time for it 😁 each one of masks is unique in its own way... if you want a really nice mask done "in house" hand made with quality materials, and not some cheap fake stuff done in some warehouse ... this is the place!!! i recommend it. !!! go, take a look, try it on, buy it, its worth it 😍😍😍

I had seen this incredible company on TV in the USA. Although it is a little tricky getting there, it is well worth the trip. Masks are all hand made in Venice. You can also see masks being made and you can order a custom made mask.

Thank you for the great lecture about Carnevale, masks and Venice! It was very well structured, full of useful information, dynamic and well illustrated. Also great ambience in the atelier! Have a great Carnevale and keep the good work!

Beautiful masks, high quality and creative. Didn’t see any similar like these in Venice. Beautiful souvenir piece or even for a real ball for dress up. The ladies were lovely and there is also opportunity to paint and decorate your own mask, what a perfect program visit Venice.

The owner is very nice and knowledgeable about the history of Venice, and the connection to the masks. A must visit for all the Stanley Kubrick fans.

We enjoyed the workshop, where our kids had an entertaining and creative time. The range of available masks to paint was not as wide as advertised, which should be corrected.

Great variety of masks. Hand made certified and quite affordable prices. It's possible to make your own mask in the atelier.

What an amazing experience! The mask making course at Ca’Macana original. We were taught art techniques for painting masks in the Venitian style. It was a great experience for my family. My kids are 14, and 11 - they loved it. All our masks turned out great. My wife is an Art teacher, so hers was amazing. I’m not great at art, but I followed the skills and techniques that were taught. My mask looks great! So do the kids’ masks. What a unique Venice souvenir, that you can’t get anywhere else!
