I love the Riu Palace. All of the staff were attentive and fun. They made sure that I was taken care of. Shout out to the poolside bartender's Dan , Monique and Paul. The food was excellent! Everyday there was something to do on the resort which I enjoyed. I was very happy to know that I also had access to the sister resorts Riu Reggae and Montego Bay. Each side was such a vibe with entertainment. They also provide Covid testing on the resort. Thank you for making my first trip to Jamaica a memorable one. I will definitely return!

I have been to many all inclusive resorts in other places, but this was my first trip to Jamaica. We chose Riu Palace Montego Bay to have our wedding. It was PERFECT IN EVERY WAY! The staff is extremely kind, fun, and attentive. The food is great and a lot of options. We found ourselves at the Aqua bar most nights. The bartenders were excellent, mainly Archer. Our server, Abigail, quickly became our favorite and knew exactly what drinks we liked. Tip her well, she’s the best. They say gratuity is included in your package, and it is, but great service deserves great tips. From the setting to the accommodations, the food to the drinks, the entertainment and the staff, I could give them 10 stars. Thank you Riu Palace for the best vacation of our lives!!

Overall a very nice trip. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Access to the sister resorts was a plus. Friday Night party is a MUST ATTEND. Big up to Black Barbie (excursions), Roly Poly (MC) and Chad (great guide when it's not busy) and too many others. We'll just have to come back again 😊

This is the perfect getaway experience. Riu itself is huge and I'm not a fan of big resorts because you become just another person. Also with covid still out here just being around a lot of people deter my wife and I. Riu Palace is the perfect couples getaway, its the smaller of the 3 connected Ruis only the people staying at the palace resort can eat and be at the pools, so it was never too crowded at the shows at selected dinner or at the buffet. Your host and hostess were able to know you, seat you in your favorite areas and get your drink before you ask. All the areas were clean and constantly being cleaned. Staff made you feel home like family no pressure to tip you just wanted to. Our 5 year anniversary was amazing, I wish we didn't go on the excursion and just enjoyed the resort and extra day. We will be back

Nice place for adults only to relax and enjoy! The resort is located between two other resorts, so you get to use those properties as well! The five restaurants are able to handle guests with minimal wait time if any. This is NOT a typical 5 star resort, but rather nice for the location! The staff and workers are very attentive to your needs. Overall a great spot to relax and recharge 💯

This is a very mediocre resort at best. Nothing special. No wow. But if you just want plain food and sun with alot of booze. Then this is for you. If you want want good food, great service and a beautiful beach. I would go elsewhere. Food - Pretty bad food the most part. Room service food was beyond bad. Italian restaurant was the worst we've ever eaten. Buffet was hit and miss. Some things really bad and some ok. The desserts were terrible. Beach - Not a great beach. Small and very hard sand. Plus a lot of drips and holes all over. A lot of sea weed. Rooms - Rooms and nice. Big and clean. No complaints. Booze - Tasty drinks but watered down a lot. My wife is a light drinker and should have been drunk after 4 drinks. She was fine. I had to drink a lot to get a buzz. Pools - The pills were clean and nice overall. Service - Like the buffet, hit and miss. Most were not great. Rarely a smile or a check in. Just doing there job that they don't like and it shows. We've been to a lot of resorts and there are a lot better for the same money or even less.

The COVID protocols were top notch, premises were thoroughly maintained, every staff member I encountered was very friendly and polite, the room was clean and looked the same as the pictures. The food was absolutely amazing at the buffet AND the steakhouse and Krystal restaurants. Staff were very attentive to everything. Drinks were not watered down. I did visit Riu Reggae for lunch and it was not as good as the Palace. Although, the Jerk Hut at Riu Reggae has the best jerk chicken ever! The only issue I had during my stay is that the room smelled of mildew after cleaning due to using an old mop to clean the floor. Visited March 2022

This resort was very nice. The pools were amazing, staff was great. The food was just okay. And that's the reason for my four stars because the main food cafeteria had the same food every day there was no switch up. The restaurants were booked fast, the steak restaurant wasn't open everyday. Again I love the pools, I love the staff, I love the rooms, they even have a taxi service in the main lobby for wherever you want to go. They also have a courtesy taxi that'll take you to Rainbow to shop. I enjoyed my stay overall!

Our experience at the HOTEL RIU PALACE. Was more than I could have imagined. The staff was the absolute best, the entertainment made my entire vacation by going all out every single day no questions asked, Spider-Man, Dora, scrappy, short boss , and everyone else was the absolute best and made us feel at home! We made some very good friends at our time in the palace and let me say it won’t be our last time there!! Truly a great experience, very laid back and chill when you want to be or you can join the party! Thanks again Spider-Man and Dora you guys were the BOMB!!

I stayed at riu palace. The entertainment staff was great! The beach is small and has a lot of sea grass. I ordered room service on the day we had an early excursion, but it was incorrect and not very good. The food wasn't anything special. Best described as an entry level all inclusive. The staff was nice. The water sports were nice but only one sailboat and you had to have proof of a license to sail.

We were in RIU Palace Montego Bay for 5nights. Over all experience was good. Most of the staff was very nice and friendly. We had a very good time. I would like to suggest them to improve food, drinks quality and taste. Also front desk people need to be friendly and more accommodating. I felt that they are rude. I would still suggest this Resort for my friends but can’t give five star because of these reasons.

Stayed here for 5 days and 4 nights and as a first timer in Jamaica, I would say this resort exceeded my expectations. When staying at the palace you have access to the others two neighboring hotels the reggae and the Montego. The service and staff were amazing welcoming and most of all attentive always asked if there was as anything needed. The rooms were beautiful and cleaned, the mini bar was always stocked and the liquor in the dispensary was stock daily as well although we didn’t drink from it much as is watered down cheap alcohol not top shelf. The food was so tasty at the buffet that I didn’t even get a chance to taste the specialty restaurant tried to one night but there was no seating :(. However or evening server Stone was AMAZING!! she kept are cups filled and our face with a smile definitely will come back to this resort.

We enjoyed our stay overall. The food was just okay but we did go off the resort to try some authentic local spots. The rooms were kept clean and the staff was friendly for the most part. I would like for them to have more variety for the buffet, put decent amount of alcohol in their drinks, extend pool hours and add more seats for the event near the bar on the beach.

We ended up being moved to this resort after an unfortunate experience at the Riu Montego Bay next door. I’m so glad we did! This resort was nice. It’s a perfect mix of quiet, classy and lit! The parties are so fun, especially the foam party. Loved the swim up bar. Workers were very kind and the food was decent. The rooms were a bit outdated but overall it was good. Also, if you’re coming on a girls trip or family trip and you’re rooming with someone other than a a spouse, there’s no wall in between the shower/room area. There’s a curtain but it’s not full coverage for privacy so keep that in mind.

This resort is amazing. I cannot say enough about Gregory, Renaldo, Ryan, Delicious and the rest of the staff. Talk about being treated like queens for the week. Great food, I recommend anything in the Jamaican area!!! Great flavor. They are constantly cleaning Ava catering to your every need. 10/10 recommend

We spent a week at the resort. Everything was wonderful. Big shout out to Sparks for the water aerobics everyday and the bar staff, Paul, Dan and Chris. Monique was a great server and Dr. Fun Fun and Lady T were great entertainment. Jamar was our server at breakfast and was the best. The facility was spotless and we will be back.

My husband and I spent a week at this resort. We had a wonderful time. The rooms were clean and they have a very friendly staff with the exception of one, however that was taken care of by the supervisor right away. Our bartender mostly was Ryan. After a day being there he knew what we like and brought drinks over. We had an exceptional service from Stone. It was late at night around 10 pm and my husband and I decided to grab a bite to eat before the restaurant closed. Stone was very welcoming friendly professional and made us feel at home. Thank you Riu for an amazing vacation. Your staff is amazing! The location is great and very close to the airport. Would highly recommend this place!

I had a great experience this entire stay. Please show love to the poolside entertainment team. Spiderman, Spark, ( I forgot the ladies name, and the DJ kept us entertained. Pool bartenders were excellent also. Food experience was good, however I did not care for the steakhouse outside seating. Other great people I ran into that I definitely cannot go without mentioning were Horace, Anna (Anne), and whomever the late lobby bar bartender were. Great job great job.

I absolutely loved Riu Palace! The environment was beautiful & friendly. Anything, we needed.. they got it! The resort is overall very clean and the food was pretty good! I absolutely loved the dinner on the beach & the setting! The waiters were professional and the mannerism was through the roof! The photographer, was also very professional! I wish I could get in contact with the photographer so I can get more photos! * Overall, Book The Palace- You Won't Regret It!!!

Okay even though I gave 5 stars here are some suggestions : put blankets or comforters in the rooms. Our room was pretty cool at night and we only had sheets , bottled water should be easily accessible. And finally a place here to exchange currency. Just some suggestions but overall this place was GREAT and my wife and I will be back.

I am a big fan of RIU! The resort and staff were absolutely amazing. The rooms are a bit dated, lighting and outlets, but they are well-maintained, clean and you can tell that they take pride in their work. I asked and was told they are supposed to start fully renovating the rooms in 2024! I will definitely be returning! Thankful to all of the great staff, but I wanted to give a special thanks to Abraham, Alex, Abigail, Prissy, Sherielle and Deena. The food was delicious, too many options to mention and the entertainment crew was superb!

I wouldn’t recommend it and I will never go back. The air conditioning in the resort didn’t work for 5 days. They said it was being worked on but it was extremely hot my whole stay. The first room I was provided didn’t have ac and the floors was so wet and it smelled like mildew. We paid for an upgraded the Riu didn’t reimburse us for the upgrade, even though we were inconvenienced. The drinks were very good (sweet) but watered down and when you asked for a extra shot some bartenders were offended. We made made the best of it but we will never go back. Worst Riu I’ve ever been. They can definitely use some remodeling/renovations.

The complaint I have about this property is that they stop serving food too early. The food that they do have available, after 10PM, are cold sandwiches on stale bread, nacho chips with cold cheese sauce, cold hamburgers to warm up in the microwave. The food that was served during their regular hours was really good. The staff and servers are nice and friendly. I can say Fiona and Ramone the desk supervisors are gems. Very helpful and professional. The rooms were ok. The pool area is nice. The beach area is nice. I felt safe on the property. The tequila brand that they serve is horrible. I wouldn’t stay here again.

Awsome place, will be back. Have been here twice now. Once in May time frame and once in October for Halloween. Both times Saturday to Saturday. Great place, great people, great food and drink, all night. Daily filled free mini bar in room. Plus you can go to two other places on each side and they can't come to yours. Highly recommend . Biggest plus...no brat kids, 18 and over. Can't wait to go back.

What a holiday made by the staff. Spotlessly clean great service from all staff they never stop. Entertainment were excellent food quality fantastic and just ask for Top shelf drinks and you get them. We could have stayed longer it was so good now looking to rebook for 3 weeks next year

The place was wonderful, the staff was great, the food was awesome. Everything was great until I fell into one of the mini pools outside of the bar restaurant. I didn't like the response of the staff on duty. I am a senior, and had to ask to see a nurse. The medical staff was very insensitive to my needs. I felt like if I am a guest, I should have received better treatment. I had to return home in aches and pain from a vacation.

I stayed here for a week last month for a relative's Birthday after previously staying at the Riu Reggae in November. For the difference in price the only notable difference in my opinion is the fact that Palace has room service and if you are looking for a more relaxed atmosphere you will definitely find that here. HOWEVER, this hotel is definitely NOT a 5 star resort as they claim. I've stayed at many and this one can not compare. 5 star brings luxury and although at some point Palace may have been luxurious they need many upgrades in the rooms to live up to a 5 star rating. The room was very mediocre. The beds are not comfortable. Another part of our group was in the room next to us and had a privacy curtain to close the bathroom area. Ours did not. The sofa in the room was dirty and sunk low to the floor. If I compare my stay at Palace to Riu Reggae Reggae was much better. The grounds are clean and well kept. The staff is clearly well trained because they are always the highlight of any stay at all of the Riu Properties.

I stayed at this hotel back in 2019 and again in 2023. The age of the hotel is definitely showing. There are a lot of wear and tear in the rooms (stayed in 2). The grounds are beautiful and the staff was amazing. The food was an absolute treat. Big shout out to Tamar (the Bartendar)!!! If you stay here, please note that you will have to contend with the noise from the planes taking off!

This is the second property of Riu's I have stayed and must say wasn't impressed either time. The food was good and the service at the Palace was excellent. Unfortunately can't say the same for the alcohol. it was cheap, watered down and had a funny after taste. Thank goodness for the shopping center near by, there we were able to purchase a better grade of alcohol. The staff was great, although it is sad how they are treated, like modern day slavery. They only get one day off, paid very little and worked long hours. Not only that management is constantly looking to reprimand or fire them for any type of infraction. They are not allowed to eat any of the food that we as guest gorge ourselves on. They can;t even have a glass of juice. One night we woke to fire alarms in the hotel, we ran to the front desk and spoke with Granville, he was like, "what you want me to do" so unconcerned.

This hotel is expensive for absolutely no reason. The rooms are old and outdated, and need quite a face lift. It is not worth the price tag. However, the staff is exceptional! Very courteous and hospitable. The hotel Riu Reggae, which is next door, is much much nicer and cleaner. I'd recommend booking that instead, especially if you're younger and looking for activities to get into. The food at Riu Reggae is also much better. I'd say the Riu palace is for older folks who love their food bland and don't really require much to do. The upside of staying in the Palace however, is you get access to Riu Reggae's facilities for free!.

  • 5/5 C M. 1 year ago on Google
Rooms are getting dated and need refurbishment. Sister properties next door have been recently renovated and it shows particularly at Montego Bay Riu! Beautiful design at all three properties and Riu Palace is still the gem of these three despite needing some touch ups! Staff are amazing and we just booked our third stay here for 2023!

  • 3/5 Carmen M. 1 year ago on Google
If you want to be entertained then this is the resort for you. That was the only thing I enjoyed at this resort their activities and the jerk hut. The drinks were ok. Food was a hit or miss honestly. There were two occasions when a staff member attempted to enter our room while were inside stating that the door was "unlocked" and we know it wasn't. I had to beg the front desk every single day for my rum to be restocked in my room. Staff wasn't as friendly at the bars. We did meet one nice bartender at the sports bar but I didn't get his name. Would I stay here again probably not.

Staff is super friendly and accommodating and fun. Great music, great vibes and drinks. The bathtub in the room was dope! The rooms have a great and comfy layout. The beds were amazing! Slept well for the first time in a while! Great place overall.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here at RIU Palace! We loved that we were able to use the amenities on the other two properties. However, for a 5***** hotel, we were expecting a more modern room accommodation. We loved that the hotel property inside and out were clean! We more than appreciate that Our room was cleaned daily and linens were changed daily as well. My husband and I really appreciated the effort of the staff an the attentiveness they provided. The Christmas eve, gala, was phenomenal! The staff went above and beyond the call of duty to give the guests a day to remember. The daily meals were delicious too, but I find that we were eating the same things, just a different flavor. Overall it was an amazing experience and we are looking forward to returning in the future!!

Paradise! Loved every moment from the staff always smiling &happy &then there’s just something about knowing my name after meeting me once just makes me feel right at home. The front desk was always helpful & answering any question I had, Camille planned all of our excursions for the weeks stay & the staff treating me like a queen was cherry on top. Lady T & Hazee always checking in making sure all is well makes you feel like family. I can’t wait to come back to Riu resort. Beachfront balcony & didn’t want to leave!!

Lovely hotel and location. The staff are amazing, from the entertainment team to the bar and poolside staff to the restaurant staff., all wonderful, welcoming and the happiest people I've met, they work tirelessly to make sure our holiday was wonderful. Rooms are spotless and cleaned daily. Would recommend this hotel if your thinking of booking.

Best hotel and holiday we ever had. Staff, food, drinks, choice of restaurants, the pool, the beach, the rooms with our bar and balcony to climb over straight onto the beach with the coconut trees and Jamaicans chopped down a coconut for you. Entertainment on the beach at night and great music. Amazing atmosphere and well worth £4k to go. Love RIU

The food was so good every single night. I’ve never had food at an all inclusive resort that was actually good. For me to be staying this is crazy because I am very picky. They had a large variety every night and I looked forward to having breakfast, lunch and dinner. The service from everyone was outstanding. Everyone was so nice and attentive and gave out so many compliments. Dr. Phil and Amstar Rep Natasha was amazing the entire trip. When you stay at the Riu Palace you get access to the other 2 resorts which is a huge plus. The rooms need to be upgraded some, but it was definitely a great time. Literally had the best Birthday and wanted to stay another day!

This place is great.. The service is fantastic. I enjoyed the food at the buffet better than the Restaurants they have on site.. Stay at the Palace so you have access to all 3 resorts. The palace is adults only. Get out and do excursions.. Dunns River Falls is amazing.. 👍

Entertainment team and all the staff were above and beyond but the GENERAL MANAGER needs to follow her own rules on mask wearing after paying a lot of money for our holiday I was not allowed in the restaurant because I have a severe lung disease and cannot wear a mask so I was refused entry I had to sit outside and my husband had to go and get my meals for me most annoying when the general manager was prancing about in and out of the restaurant without a mask on a rule for one and a rule for another I would never go back to that hotel again

The beach was immaculate. The staff is outstanding . The best resort food I have ever had. Rooms were a bit outdated and our air conditioning went out one day . But they had it fixed within a few hours . Going to Riu Palace gives you access to Montego Bay and Reggae resorts next door. This gives you everything you could possibly want . The tours were amazing . You have to have Riu Reggae jerk chicken on the beach for lunch ! Dunn's falls and Six Mile tours were the best experiences. I will go back 🥰
