Stayed here for 4 days 3 nights for a wedding. Property is massive and if you are staying in the Rose Hall Villas like I did you would need a golf cart to get around. For a 5 star resort the rooms on this property really need an upgrade as the villas were VERY outdated. The ambiance was nice very relaxing perfect for business. If you're looking for an authentic Jamaican experience, vibes or parties, then this would not be the idle hotel for that. The staff were so pleasant and welcoming no matter who you pass they are saying hi with a bright smile. Things close pretty early, there's not much food options or entertainment on this property so plan a head. Since this is a 5 star property things are very expensive, if you're in a Villa you should bring your own groceries and drinks. Overall my family and I loved the scenery and staff. We definitely enjoyed ourselves, this is the type of experience you only need one time.

Beautiful facilities. Romantic settings, over 400 acres to explore. Great food, wonderful service. They have massage services over the water, beautiful beaches with reefs. Definitely a place for serenity and quietness. It is not all inclusive so individual pricing could get expensive but the restaurants are great! I would reserve bikes and/or golf carts when you do your booking as they are likely all reserved when you arrive for your stay and you won't have the luxury of utilizing. Great beautiful place. Stayed at the new Eclipse addition and it was nice. The rooms aren't anything exciting it's more so for the serenity, beauty and quiet of the resort. Oceanfront is not on the ocean either. You can see and hear it but it's not right on the ocean. Will want the Founders Cove side for Oceanfront.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Half Moon Resort in Jamaica, and it was truly an amazing experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to ensure my stay was nothing short of perfection. They were warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive to every detail. The resort itself was breathtaking. The lush tropical gardens, pristine beaches, and stunning views created an idyllic backdrop for a relaxing vacation. The accommodations were luxurious and comfortable. The variety of amenities at the resort was impressive. From the rejuvenating spa treatments to the exquisite dining options, there was something for everyone. Overall, my time at the Half Moon Resort was an unforgettable experience. The combination of stunning natural surroundings, luxurious accommodations, and, above all, the incredible staff, made it a truly exceptional destination. I cannot recommend this resort enough for anyone seeking a memorable and rejuvenating getaway.

While the hotel has many shortcomings, the management will go out of its way to accommodate and please. I had issues with my rooms and the hotel attempted to make things right and then some, which can’t be said for other hotels where I had unfavorable experiences. If you’re disappointed at something, definitely bring it to the managements attention, they will go out of their way to please you. Grounds are huge and amazing, so is the beach, very nice private setting, food is good, some rooms are remodeled, some are dated and 30 years old and it shows. Because management was not indifferent to my complaints, I will return again. Thank you management. Suggest ownership retain services of a professional management company for several things are lacking and improvements in many areas are badly needed.

One of the most beautiful resorts that I’ve ever lived in. 400 acres in total of ultimate beauty. Very picturesque and serene. Extremely well maintained property. The staff as expected were extremely nice. We got in early and they had our room ready and upgraded. My wife and I for sure enjoyed the ocean facing view from our room. The property has multiple restaurants and bars. We were celebrating our anniversary and the hotel helped us get reservations to Sugar Mill - a fine dining experience. Covering that in a separate review. They have in house Covid testing. Amazing views overall. Will definitely visit again. This time for longer.

I visited the Half Moon for a wedding vow renewal and celebration and loved the service, the property, and the beaches. The customer service here is excellent! The staff here is fantastic. Everyone was nice, friendly, and accommodating! I loved the ocean view from my room. The resort was stunning, the grounds were immaculate, and the staff's hospitality (reception, concierge, maids, waitresses, groundskeepers, etc.) was impeccable! The food was excellent. I will return to this magnificent resort in the future; what a true gem of the Caribbean!

Everything has been great so far! The lounge in the airport is a welcome respite from traveling, and you instantly feel at home. Check in was quick, with beautiful ocean views. We stayed in the Rose Hall Villas - they are classic colonial era villas that offer 5,6 or 7 bedrooms with a very friendly staff of 3 - Waiyaki Suzan, and Carlene went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. Stephan at the beach bar makes great cocktails, which has fun swings instead of seats overlooking the ocean. The Villas themselves can use some updating, but the service and food are top notch

Went here for dinner at the Sugarhill restaurant. It was absolutely amazing and delicious! Service was immaculate and made every accommodation for our party. The food was incredible, literally every dish was done to perfection. Amazing presentation and great for those with dietary restrictions as they will accommodate your needs. Highly recommend if you're staying in Montego Bay, an absolute must try.

High end hotel 10 minutes from Montego Bay airport. The eclipse bathrooms are awesome with duel showers, balconies are gorgeous and everything is very well taken care of. A/C is tremendous. The staff takes great pride in taking care of everything you could ever imagine. Highly recommend travel in the cooler months November through March. The pools, beach, fitness center are all great. The food is extremely expensive with breakfast buffet running around $50 per person. Drinks are about $18 Beaches are solid but not as beautiful as 7 mile beach in Negril

This is proper luxury. I had sworn off family hotels in Jamaica and decided adults only was the way going forward, THIS was the exception. Half the time I didn't even remember kids were there. Every staff member we met was genuinely nice and always anticipating our needs. The salamander spa was IMPECCABLE! Pauline has hands of gold. Shannon our bell hop was equally attentive and amazing ! Food wasn't included, so bear this in mind for your budgeting. Spending a week here will cost you. All in all, it was LOVELY. We'll definitely be back.

My family and I absolutely love Half Moon. It’s actually our home away from home. We’ve visited numerous times over the past 10 years. Our most recent visit was this past Christmas. We had an extended vacation which was incredible. Our butler, Shavor took exceptional care of our family. He always had a positive attitude. He was extremely kind, professional, helpful and happy to assist with whatever we needed. Nothing was too difficult for Shavor to handle. He’s also an excellent cook. We look forward to our next visit to Half Moon.

Had an incredible experience at Rose Hill Villas with our wonderful team- Akean, Veronica, and Angela. We had a friend's wedding and stayed in a villa together for an incredible weekend. Our staff helped to make the stay comfortable, inviting, and an overall amazing experience! Thank you and we will be back!!!

Very luxurious hotel with exotic trees and flowers; large, spacious rooms with lots of shelves and closets, two large TVs, high speed internet. Huge taras with a beautiful view on the Caribbean Sea. Private beaches that belong to each house beside the public one belonging to the hotel. Large variety of sport and rec activities, bikes in front of each house, gym, tenis, yoga, kayaks, and more. Huge washrooms, two large showers, luminated closets, full-size shampoos, lotions, and conditioners for two people. Hair dryer, sleepers, bathrobes - all this makes you feel at home. Cleaning service is offered two times per day. We chose to have only breakfast and it was delicious. All inclusive versions are also available. For breakfast - a large variety of fish, meet, cheese, fruits, vegetables, and waffles with a variety of homemade sauses were excellent. (Raspberry one - delicious!) Salmon with poached eggs on the bun - extremely delicious; freshly squeezed juices every morning. Thank you, Nasheira, for your service! You are the best waitress in that restaurant. I am not sure how much it is to stay as it was a gift for me, but that place is worth every money. It was a great experience and I can strongly recommend this hotel to everyone.

I absolutely loved my stay at the Half Moon Villas in Montego Bay Jamaica. Our Butler Vincent and our Chef Michelle were nothing less than superb. It was our 1st time visiting Jamaica. The Food, the Villa, the Hospitality are a few of the details that made our stay remarkable. The amenities such as horseback riding, water tubing, snorkeling were all on the resort, which is plus for me since I have a large family. Every night dinner was served on time with a smile and our butler was there to assist us with all of our bookings of excursions. I would definitely recommend this resort in the future. Crystal

I had dinner here for my birthday and it was A mazing. Food was incredible and the staff was super nice. Mine you I was not staying at the hotel just there at the restaurant for dinner. The chef accommodated my friend food request even though it was not on the menu. RatIng this experience a 100 out of 10. Can’t wait to go back

Half Moon delivered beyond expectations. From the time we arrived to departure, it was a magical time. Check in was easy and seamless. We asked for a tour of the property since we had never been there and it was so large. They happily took us on a golf cart and showed us all the areas of the resort. We stayed on the Eclipse side in one of the estate rooms also known as a villa onsite (mimosa villa). The butler service was better than any other butler service I’ve had at other hotels. They were on top of it! The hotel is expansive so you need a golf cart or bike to get to other parts of the hotel. I absolutely loved our bike rides in the evening over to Founders Cove. We spent most evenings over there at their bar. Shout out to Floyd, Sasha and Carlton who are amazing bartenders! This place felt very special to me and I could see us bringing our son back here for a family vacation. The property felt very family friendly which I loved even though it was just me and the hubby on vacation. The only negative I have is that the staff in the restaurants weren’t overly friendly - wish they would have been a bit more upbeat but other than that 10/10. Highly recommend this resort and we will definitely be back!

My fantastic experience at Villa 85..at the Half Moon in Montego Bay! The staff, Rines, Karen, and Kerri, truly made our stay memorable with their amazing service and constant smiles. The delicious food and breathtaking views added to the overall enjoyment of our 7-day trip. They assisted us with every detail, making our vacation even better. Looking forward to our next visit to 💜Montego Bay! Happy travels!

This property has a very unique location, layout, and design. It's exceptionally maintained and offers first-class service. It's one of the best experiences of our vacation. Attention to detail is prevalent throughout. Every inch of the property projects picturesque vistas. We can't wait to return, highly recommended 🙌.

Absolutely fantastic! The best resort ever. However it was very expensive due to it's exclusivity. We patronised the Sugar Mill restaurant full of excitement and apprehension. We were severely disappointed with the food and service.

Amazing hotel! And no mosquitoes anywhere!!! It was most pleasant surprise and most valuable one for me. The sandy beach is long and sheer delight for people who like walking along the beach. Freshly squeezed healthy juices and Blue Mountain coffee are to die for

This was a location for a meeting. I had not stayed at this property before but had seen it while previously visiting the island. There are two parts to this resort, one that is dating from the 1950s and the other of recent origin. We stayed in the older portion as my wife and I enjoy, a more vintage feel. We loved all of the detail and comfort that an older luxury property has. The newer portion does have some amenities that are desirable as well. I don’t feel that you have to make any compromises whether you want a brand new state of the art facility, or an older, luxurious feel.

We really enjoyed our time at Half Moon. Lots of privacy, lots of space. Really enjoyed the Jerk Chicken, Jerk Fish and the Rum Punches! Jamaican Legacy 65 was my Favourite drink at the resort! Dwayne, the Food & Beverage Manager was really professional and does a great job! Really enjoyed Jamaica 🇯🇲 Cheers

I can't review the rooms because I only go here when I want to eat or have some specialty cocktails. The main bar (Cedar Bar?)...wow! Some of the best cocktails and mixologists I have ever seen. The precision, effort that goes into some of those drinks are amazing. I've ate at the Terrance a few times and love the food and the staff. The local discount is awesome as well. I've ate at Del Mare, this is an excellent upscale option for those special occasions. Great staff and they also offer you golf cart rides to get from one area to the other if needed.

My stay at Half Moon was truly a dream! Our room was located a couple hundred ft from the ocean on the Eclipse side. When we arrived, the room was clean and elegantly displayed. Richard and Nickeisha was fantastic! They were attentive and ready to assist with only a simple text. They took really good care of us. We absolutely loved Joy also who served us at the Hayward Restaurant. Lastly, our driver Ricardo E. Robinson who was referred by the concierge at Half Moon, was professional and a wealth of information. He went above and beyond to ensure that we felt safe enough to have an amazing time! I would highly recommend Half Moon. They set the bar for all resorts in Montego Bay! ❤️

Absolutely loved my stay here at Half Moon Villas! It was so beautiful and cozy there. Joy made our stay! She is easily the top reason this vacation was my favorite. Next in line is Vin! They are such an amazing team. Karen can't get away without my love too! Of course the beaches are nice. Everyone there is so fantastic! See you next year. I hope to see air conditioning in the kitchen and cooks room!!

Hotel concierge and travel desk were an absolute disaster. Spent over $100 in overseas phone calls just to arrive and find out none of the Information and prices I had been given was correct and if I wanted to do any of the tours I inquired about, via call and email weeks prior to arrival, and I would actually have to book a private tour and driver at 10x the cost I was quoted if I wanted to go at specific times. Booked a massage and was given one price and a discount for booking with the wedding group then when I was checking out after the service I was told the price had increased by over $100 dollars for an hour service and I was not eligible for the discount I was quoted when I booked. I noticed gratuity was built in and yet the therapist hovered at the desk as if they were waiting on a second tip. We paid for the meal plan and we weren’t able to eat dinner due to the wedding schedule so we ordered off of the late night menu. We called the room service line and we’re waiting for almost 20 minutes so we decided to walk to concierge and they put us on hold in the lobby, again waiting for 10-15 minutes with no answer so the concierge called down to the kitchen- overall took almost 45 minutes just to order our food two nights in a row because they wouldn’t answer after 9/10pm even though they are 24/7. They also told one of the members of our party that the late night menu was not covered by the meal plan - which was incorrect. We had a lunch meal delivered to the bridal suite for everyone getting ready and each of our rooms were charged delivery fees of $7 even though it was delivered to one room, equaling about $100 for them to walk one tray of food to the one delivery location. We asked for a golf cart for the wedding say and they told me plenty would be available the next morning so to just check back in then, I walked down the next morning and they said no carts would be available until the afternoon but they would call and email when one was turned in - we were never contacted so we had to walk everywhere lugging bridal dresses because calling the concierge every time for a cart and them taking 20-30 minutes for pickup was not an option. We were told we were set up for a trip with the tour desk, I gave them all the attendees names and spoke with the tour desk manager several times to confirm and on the day-of when two of the attendees came by her desk to confirm, she said if it was not paid in full before she closed in 5 minutes - the tour would be canceled. Mind you- I had been in the lobby for over an hour that morning waiting for the tour bus that was late for our first excursion and never once did Christine mention we needed to pay to secure the trip, which I would have gladly done and had my card available to do - she just asked me to confirm the other attendees names. So she closed up shop before anyone could return with their cards and cancelled our trip we had confirmed THREE times so we called concierge to see what could be done to still attend and they said we could pay for a private tour (again at a much higher cost) so we ended up not being able to do any other excursions during our stay, which was extremely disappointing. I also inquired about horseback riding when I first checked in and was told they would email me to follow up, I confirmed there were 2 people interested and the concierge never replied, making a second excursion opportunity that was missed due to half moon’s lack of communication/organization. The property is beautiful and staff was friendly but I would not recommend the Half Moon due to the SEVERE lack of organization and communication. It was difficult to relax or enjoy your time exploring with the amount of stress they caused by never knowing the correct information, cancelling or not booking excursions, and prices increases for services that were already quoted or confirmed.

Half Moon is one of the best resorts in Mo Bay with superb service and beautiful landscapes. Choice of single rooms to villas with staff. Nice selection of cafes, bars, and restaurants spread across the estate. Walk, bike, or golf carts to get you around.

The service deserves more than 5 stars. It is simply a beautiful, relaxing location and a resort who wants to ensure you have a great vacation. Very private and quiet. Great for pools and ocean beach vacations.

Atmosphere/Exterior Resort- 5/5 Interior(staying in ocean view suite) 4/5 Food-4/5 Service- 2/5 I got married at Salamander Resort in Middleburg and frequent there very often so my expectations are high. I was most disappointed about the service at restaurants and in room Dining. The restaurant was slow and the waitress was a bit rude. Wouldn’t let us keep a menu at the table. They had live music which was nice! Person taking in room dining orders morning of 06/07 was rude and hung up on us. Would return but need to escalate my concerns as we are spending thousands of dollars but so many short comings!

My whole family and I vacationed here for 5 days and we LOVED this place. Not only is the resort AMAZING and has so many activities to do. But the staff (butler/maid/security/gardeners/waiters/bartenders/concierge/receptionist/vendors) are ALL so kind and helpful people. We'll definitely be back ❤️

The place is lovely the food is good, the staff are professional, however some of the basis instruction from management need to be clarified to the staff. Signing for breakfast shows internal costs?? Staff not automatically printing your invoice on departure even if its a nil balance. I would certainly visit again.

I've been meaning to write a review, I miss this place so much already. I cannot express how amazing my stay was. My son (8 years old) had the time of his life. Our beachfront villa was to die for, our villa staff, Jason, Patricia, Karen, Keen, Arlo & LJ were the best, we miss them already. My son was obsessed with the sorbet and said the eclipse pool was a vibe (I agree). We really enjoyed ourselves and cannot wait to return. I must add, the staff helped coordinate an awesome birthday party at the villa and really executed all of our requests. Best Vacation Ever!

Just stayed at the the Half Moon resort/hotel and was absolutely blown away by the scenery and the people. Every single person from groundskeeper to management to took responsibility for our experience. Our trip to Jamaica was in essence a diversion to our Anniversary plans. Management worked with us the get the best experience, they were understanding, flexible and welcoming. The view from our room was breathtaking, the staff couldn't be any kinder. The scenery felt more like a homely property than a resort property. Thank you Half Moon for a most wonderful joyfilled memory experience; can't wait to see you all again.

The place is incredible with a beautiful and impeccable decoration. The nightly atmosphere with live music was unbeatable. The bar with its bartender who is charmingly polite and attentive and the impressive drinks due to their years of aging and their excellent brands, cocktails that they made for us live with creative ingredients and procedures, exquisite. The food, on the other hand, was not of the same level. We ordered 4 different dishes at the beach restaurant and none of them were good. The pasta was soggy and nothing special. The meat without any accompaniment and tasteless. It was a meal that does not give emotion nor is it excellent. They need to take care urgently attention to that area.

This was my first time visiting Jamaica and I'm very happy that I chose Half Moon for my stay. The staff here is phenomenal and that makes an already beautiful experience the best it can be. The grounds are very well kept and the rooms are beautiful. I stayed in the original section but I imagine the new Eclipse section also has great rooms. The beach views are jaw dropping and I wish I had more time to just sit and take it all in. Food and drink is also top notch! The breakfast buffet was probably my favorite because it's so over the top but everything was fantastic. The room was beautiful and the turndown service is excellent. Half Moon truly captures every single detail. I also recommend the tennis. I did the intro class and had a great time.

Half Moon was dreamy. The staff who greeted us warmly and helped us with directions were amazing. The staff who helped us get settled, served our food and drinks, chatted with us about the location and services provided at Half Moon were incredible. The food was yum, the energy was comfortable and fun. Visit and have a great time.

Where do I begin? This place is absolutely exquisite. We walked right out of our room onto the sand. We even watch the moon light reflection on the water at night. I have been all over the world to Four Seasons. I’m on you name it and let me tell you this hotel blows all of them out of the water. The staff truly care everyone is so sweet you feel like family, it’s honestly as beautiful as it looks on Instagram the food is delicious special shout out to the sous chef O’Brien and DeAndre with in room dining, as well as the lovely man that serve me a coconut this afternoon :) thank you for the best stay ever!! I will preface this by saying my expectations for service among other things were high. The property, and the quality of detail of groundskeeping of the 400 acres is impeccable and deserving of more than just 5 stars. My family and I stayed dispersed among the villas and accommodations to move around the compound were easy through use of the golf carts as well as the exceptionally cute bicycles for adults and children alike. The issues we encountered throughout our stay was not property or food related, it all boiled down to rude and disrespectful service by a few staff. If it weren’t for a few rude, inattentive, and disrespectful staff, service would be rated 4. The mornings/afternoons/evenings we dined at Eclipse and Hayward were met with very slow service, as well as inattentive staff. The times we dined were not overtly busy. There weren’t an abundance of other guests dining during the times so we never expected long wait times by staff to take orders, much less the time in which it took for appetizers and full meals to arrive. Dining for breakfast in Hayward was a mix between getting seated quickly with a beautiful view, but the waiter left us unattended without follow up on orders for 30-40 min after our arrival. He made a point to apologize due to his forgetfulness. In regards to downright rude and disrespectful staff members…. We are returning to our home country, many of us born and raised in Jamaica, but upon requesting any services throughout our stay, when many of us were inconvenienced, we were not or shown the respect as other guests on the property, there was certainly a lack in basic respect. A lot of us felt that some staff members resented our presence at the hotel as fellow Jamaicans. A group of friends stayed in one villa, while another set of family/friends stayed in others. One group detailed amongst ourselves that they felt they were imposing on the house of the assigned butler/maid. They felt as well that their particular butler spoke to them and addressed them as children who needed scolding. No one needs this type of disrespected when staying anywhere, not just Half Moon. Another example of rude/disrespectful service… in our Villa, there was at least 6 or 7 of us who returned to our Villa at 9:30pm one night to find that our key card, none of our key cards, were able to open the front door. I politely called guest services and explained the situation and they in turn responded quickly by sending a staff member with new cards to assist. When he arrived, he did not greet us, he didn’t apologize for the inconvenience. He made the assumption that we were all lying about the key cards. He briskly walked into the Villa, and attempted to open the various room doors with the keys we initially had. He noted they did not work and instead of politely asking each of us to give him the non-working cards, he rudely dictated in patois “gimme the cards dem” and walked out without another word. It is atrocious for anyone, paying guests, to be treated with rude and disrespectful behavior from staff of such a highly sought after hotel. These rude staff members are weeds that need to be plucked from the beautiful garden of Half Moon. One thing worth noting as well is that the Villas could use some attention in terms of an upgrade in the bathrooms/bedrooms.
