We
recently
stayed
at
Sandals
Royal
Caribbean
for
our
baby
moon,
hoping
to
have
a
luxurious
experience
before
the
arrival
of
our
little
one.
Unfortunately,
our
experience
at
this
resort
did
not
live
up
to
our
expectations.
This
will
be
our
first
and
last
stay
at
a
Sandals.
We
paid
a
premium
rate
of
$1,250
per
night,
but
the
overall
experience
was
far
from
what
you'd
expect
for
that
price.
Upon
arrival,
we
had
to
wait
40
minutes
for
our
butler
to
escort
us
to
our
room.
To
make
matters
worse,
our
luggage
took
an
additional
hour
and
a
half
to
be
delivered,
despite
our
offer
to
carry
it
ourselves.
The
resort
itself
feels
dated,
with
uncomfortable
pool
chairs
and
gym
equipment
that
hasn't
been
updated
in
decades.
Tennis
is
advertised
on
the
website,
but
we
had
to
take
a
shuttle
to
the
sister
resort
and
fend
for
ourselves
when
it
came
to
finding
racquets
and
balls.
Our
initial
room
was
a
disappointment,
resembling
a
2-star
hotel
rather
than
the
5-star
luxury
we
had
anticipated.
The
room
was
outdated,
lacked
a
bug
screen
in
the
bathroom,
and
offered
limited
and
uncomfortable
seating.
The
bed
was
so
uncomfortable
that
we
barely
slept
the
first
night.
Although
we
had
requested
a
pregnancy
pillow,
it
was
initially
unavailable
but
was
eventually
provided.
After
a
dismal
first
night,
we
spoke
with
a
manager
who
tried
to
pass
off
the
outdated
room
as
"old
world
charm."
We
were
eventually
relocated
to
a
more
modern
room,
but
it
still
did
not
justify
the
price
we
paid.
The
food
at
the
resort
was
unimpressive,
and
while
the
presentation
was
good,
the
quality
was
lacking.
The
drinks
were
overly
sugary
and
lacked
natural
ingredients.
Additionally,
there
was
a
disturbing
domestic
dispute
on
a
balcony
near
the
pool
on
our
last
day,
and
it
took
30
minutes
before
another
guest
notified
the
staff
to
intervene.
While
the
staff,
including
our
butlers,
were
friendly
and
attentive,
the
level
of
service
was
not
on
par
with
other
luxury
resorts
in
the
same
price
range.
It's
hard
to
understand
how
this
resort
receives
such
high
reviews
when
our
experience
was
so
far
below
the
standards
of
other
luxury
hotels
like
the
Mandarin
Oriental,
Four
Seasons,
or
Park
Hyatt.
We
have
stayed
at
better
all-inclusive
resorts
in
Cancun
for
a
fraction
of
the
price.
In
summary,
our
baby
moon
at
Sandals
Royal
Caribbean
was
a
major
letdown.
For
the
price
we
paid,
we
expected
a
luxurious
and
memorable
experience,
but
we
were
left
feeling
underwhelmed
and
disappointed.
We
cannot
recommend
this
resort
to
others
looking
for
a
truly
luxurious
getaway.
