I
thought
for
a
5-star
hotel
the
rooms
were
severely
lacking
in
style
and
upgrades.
The
grounds
are
lovely
but
when
I
walked
into
my
room
it
felt
as
if
I'd
been
transported
back
into
the
80s.
Small
white
tiles
with
old
cabinetry
and
an
air
conditioning
unit
that
created
water
condensation
all
over
the
slippery
white
tiles
that
extended
into
the
bathroom.
I
told
room
service
about
the
water
condensation
issue
when
I
first
came
into
the
room
and
they
said
it
was
something
that
happens
often
due
to
having
the
ac
on
and
the
temperatures
outside.
However,
I've
stayed
at
other
such
resorts,
5-star,
and
never
experienced
this
issue
to
this
extent
-
the
floors
were
wet
and
slippery.
Their
solution
was
to
put
towels
on
the
floor
where
the
water
had
become
puddles,
which
immediately
brought
down
the
room
aesthetic
even
further.
The
real
issues
began
however,
when
I
turned
the
water
on
to
take
a
shower
and
then
quickly
went
out
of
the
bathroom
to
put
something
down
(not
even
30
seconds)
and
when
I
walked
back
into
the
shower
I
slipped
and
fell
and
obtained
a
concussion.
The
reason
for
the
slip
was
as
a
result
of
the
poor
configuration
of
the
bathroom.
I'm
a
fit
30-something
and
have
never
had
a
slip
and
fall
before.
The
shower
had
a
glass
closure
that
only
went
halfway
and
the
shower
sprayed
water
way
beyond
the
point
of
where
the
glass
closure
ended.
The
white
tiles
I
described
previously
had
no
grip
and
were
extremely
slippery,
even
when
not
wet,
and
even
though
there
was
a
towel
put
down
on
the
floor
by
housekeeping,
presumably
to
account
for
the
bathroom
issues,
it
did
not
solve
the
problem.
Inevitably,
the
water
created
a
puddle
that
you
could
not
see
because
of
the
white
tiles
and
when
I
turned
the
corner
of
the
bathroom
to
get
into
the
shower
my
legs
went
from
under
me
and
my
head
hit
hard
directly
onto
the
tiles.
I
had
to
crawl
to
the
phone
to
try
and
get
help
because
I
was
there
alone.
Thank
God
I
didn't
lose
consciousness
because
there
would
have
been
nobody
around
to
assist
me.
The
immediate
staff
that
came
were
helpful
and
friendly
and
saw
the
shower
issue
immediately.
The
doctor
was
called,
who
was
also
phenomenal.
She
confirmed
I
had
a
concussion
and
said
I'd
feel
sore
and
get
even
more
sore
over
the
next
few
days
given
the
nature
of
the
fall.
It
was
when
the
manager
came
that
things
took
a
bad
turn
as
it
relates
to
service.
One
of
his
initial
responses
was
that
I
didn't
have
a
bruise,
so
that
was
good
news.
Even
though
the
doctor
confirmed
that
I
had
a
concussion
and
that
it
was
the
equivalent
of
whip
lash
in
a
car
crash.
I
couldn't
even
turn
my
head
left
or
right
and
my
head
was
pounding
on
all
sides.
The
manager's
comment
felt
completely
misplaced
and
insensitive
-
like
he
was
most
concerned
with
the
hotel's
liability
than
my
health
and
well-being.
Not
to
mention,
it
is
widely
known
that
on
darker
skin
tones
it
is
harder
to
see
bruising
but
that
doesn't
mean
they
aren't
there.
For
my
concussion
and
missing
the
wedding
and
inability
to
fully
enjoy
the
remainder
of
my
stay,
the
manager
only
offered
me
a
free
pedicure,
transportation
across
the
street
to
the
wedding
venue
(for
the
wedding
I
missed),
and
paid
for
the
doctor's
bill.
I
asked
that
they
cover
the
cost
of
the
trip
and
he
refused
to
do
so.
Honestly,
even
if
they'd
covered
the
nights
of
my
stay
from
the
date
of
the
incident
until
I
left
I
would
have
appreciated
it,
since
it
severely
impacted
my
stay.
I
missed
the
wedding,
I
was
in
constant
pain,
I
couldn't
handle
too
much
sunlight
due
to
the
concussion,
and
I
had
to
stay
another
night
due
to
the
pain
and
the
fact
that
my
doctor
advised
against
traveling
given
my
concussion
diagnosis.
Given
Round
Hill's
supposed
5-star
rating,
I
thought
management's
handling
of
the
issue
was
atrocious.
At
5-star
resorts
I'm
used
to
management
making
it
clear
in
every
way
that
the
guest
comes
above
all
and
every
accommodation
being
made
to
ensure
that
guest
goes
away
feeling
happy
and
cared
for.
Unfortunately,
I
left
with
an
injury
and
a
feeling
of
being
cheated
and
duped.
