Go go and go! A great experience, with great food! The staff were friendly and accommodating to tourists, happy to show is their cooking method! Service was efficient. The place was clean. There were locals and tourists present. The price was reasonable. Parking is outside the door. Would recommend 100% if in Jamacia do not miss out!

This is my 3rd time to Jamaica. I’ve heard about Scotchie’s since prior to the 1st visit, but haven’t been able to make it due to time constraints. That is now history. This is by far the best tasting jerk chicken I have ever had. The seasoning and smoke flavor is all the way to the bone. The use of pimento wood validates it’s authenticity. Also had the jerk pork. Tender and full of flavor. If you have not been here you have not had authentic Jerk !!!!

Scotchies was great. Our waitress was super friendly and and the food was delicious. What more can I say. They came highly recommended and did not disappoint. Highly recommend, for down to earth, unpretentious, seriously good eats!

Nice place with moist lightly seasoned jerk chicken smoked with pimiento tree branches. The jerk pork was dry and the seasoning was almost nonexistent. We are used to jerk meats that much more fragrant and seasoned with herbs and spices. They have mild and spicy sauce- we mixed both on the side. The Festivals were very nice- crispy on the outside and slightly sweet and chewy on the inside because they had just made it. Got a tasty Red String beer and a sweet GD soda champagne. Just order and pay at the window, grab your drinks and turn around to get your meats, rice and beans, and festivals. They have a lot of seating arrangements for small and large groups. The place was well thought out and the bathroom was clean.

Lovely Restaurant… The food was well seasoned. The pork was a little salty but okay. The Jerk chicken was great, well seasoned and cooked to perfection. Our server Sonia was the best. She had that lovely Jamaican flare to her service style, knew exactly what to get for us. The ambiance was a little hot but I guess it’s because it’s open air and we went in the middle of the day.

A few years ago I ate here and thought it was way better then today. The chicken was dry and didn’t taste like it had much jerk seasoning so I added more of the spicy jerk sauce for flavor and to help the dryness. But the hot pepper pot soup was good although it could’ve been spicier. Long line went quick and good place to get quick bite.

A go to place, decent price. Lines can get long. I like the chicken better than the pork. Fries are better than other local places where it is filled with oil.

Scotchies still gets it done. We first visited here 25 years ago and still love this place. Excellent jerk pork. The jerk chicken was a little dry but still quite good. For the best flavor be sure to add the sauce. Forgo ordering fries and order the festival and rice and peas. Wonderful island atmosphere and somewhat slow service. That is ok as this is Jamaica. Have a beer and chill. Many locals frequenting Scotchies.

Service: This was underwhelming because we arrived at 9 p.m. and they close at 10:30. We, a party of four, were the only ones who ordered food. There were three people at the bar. Upon going to the order counter, the order taker was a bit abrasive when asked about the different items available. We were directed to the menu. After informing her of my order, she stated none of the sides I ordered were available. I ordered the roasted fish and conch. The cooks told her "no" and she began to raise her voice. They then went to the back to pull out the fish and conch. They were unethused and unprofessional. The lady at the counter told me 15 minutes and the cooks stated 30 minutes. I was disappointed about this because my friends were done by the time I got my food. For this I gave 4 ⭐️. Food: The roasted fish and conch were amazing! Seasoned to perfection and they were cooked just right. I thoroughly enjoyed both (minus the slimy okra). I do recommend this establishment. I just recommend you expect a different welcome if you go near closing.

Best jerk in town! Visited here after a long day, and highly recommend the pork and fish. Festivals were great (first time) and the homemade hot sauce was perfect.

I personally think this place is overated. We have been here a few times and each time before now, I told myself maybe I am not getting their best, but after three visits, I believe what I am getting is their best and it is not the best food. This is a good place for a quick bite....not much waiting after ordering and the staff there was very nice. There is plenty of seating, I will say after three visits, I never had a problem with seating There is a bar on site, so there is an opportunity to get a cold beer or a mixed drink. I would go back.

If you want a local hot spot then this is a good stop. Wait in line, order, get your number wait some more, then they call your number and you sit anywhere available. Food was good, but they only had the jerk chicken and wings available, nothing else was available so that was disappointing. I was really looking forward to some jerk pork & ribs. Price was a little high for what I actually got but it was it is.

Definitely a big fan of Scotchies and their jerk chicken but this location wasn't as welcoming as the one in Ocho Rio and the food was just "okay" compared to the other location i've been to. Could have just been a off day so I won't hold it against them.

Delicious food here. Jerk chicken was good, a bit mild however I recommend adding the Scotchies sauce to kick it up a level. Enjoy the rice and peas.

Took a drive out to Montego Bay today with my sister and a friend recommended this establishment for some Jerk. Maybe it was the time of day chicken and pork was finished but we decided to wait. The protein was good Sis enjoyed the festival, sweet potato but not the rice and peas. it was cold. I enjoyed my Corn. Staff seems a little frustrated and tried to address customers issues as best as possible.

Wanted to try this well known place and it happened to be down the street from our resort. It’s in a small lil strip of shacks and unassuming. Old school bbq spit with the coals and logs. We ordered a whole chicken, jerk pork and wings. Cute outdoor seating area and tree hut styled seating. Juicy chicken not very flavorful though without the pepper sauce. Pork was a bit dry. Wings weren’t bad but didn’t have the kick of flavor we were expecting

Tasty food and drinks and great service. Valencia is a treasure! My husband had the jerk chicken but ate it up so quickly, I didn’t get a photo. I had the jerk pork and festival. Their special sauce definitely kicked it up a notch.

  • 3/5 Kevin W. 8 months ago on Google
A little unorganized is an understatement, but once they got it together, it was worth the wait. How are you not taking chicken orders until the chicken is ready. But the chicken 🐔 was worth the wait.

  • 4/5 Jaye J. 3 months ago on Google New
Stopped by on a Thursday afternoon straight from Sangster's International Airport. We were really excited to finally eat here. It was not crowded, so the wait time was really short. The folks by the fire pit are much friendlier than the lady in the cash register booth. We had a hard time hearing her, and it was almost like she barely wanted to speak up so we could hear. We had to keep asking her to repeat. My advice, if you hate your job so much...quit. Customer service needs work. Food was ok, enjoyed the festival and jerked pork. We probably won't be going back.

The Jerk chicken tastes very good. The rice and peas also tasted good but it was cold, and had to be reheated. It's a good spot for tourists and a welcome break on your way to the airport, which is about a ten minute drive away. The WiFi is absolutely rubbish, something needs to be done about it. The chips were my favourite, it really tasted good, I will recommend it with your Jerk chicken. I will definitely visit again. Parking is limited as there are other businesses around that use the parking space. It's off the main road and near the sea. Wheelchair users will struggle with the toilet.

Good juicy jerk chicken cooked to perfection and full of flavour, without having to add any sauce. The small portion of fries were too small and were mediocre. The steamed veg was flavourful, cooked very well and had a slight kick to them. There is a nice local vibe & atmosphere to the place. Highly recommend when in Montego Bay.

We asked a lot of locals where to go for the best jerk chicken and they said Scotchies. It was good but not GREAT. We most definitely have better jerk children in Indiana🤷🏽‍♀️. The chicken was very juicy and had good flavor but the rice and peas had no flavor. The restaurant had a good vibe but I don't think I would go back on our next visit.

Best jerk chicken and pork.! Real wood fired taste. Staff was nice. The best restaurants always have a small wait. Usually has a good amount of people.

  • 5/5 Sheila J. 3 months ago on Google New
Very good food, "jerk" wings weren't as spicy as I would have expected but the sauce made up for it. The festival was very good. And in true Jamaican style, the customer service was great.

I found a fly in my food and the lady made it seem like I made it up (cos I'm going to walk around with a dead fly). Outside of that incident, I love Scotchies. When I feel like having authentic jerk, I come here. There are a variety of sides too. The soup is always good.
