This resort doesn't offer what it says. Some of the pictures are from Cornwall which is the resort next to Montego bay. Which by the way they are both Decameron. The Montego bay resort doesn't have cabanas or swim up bar. It also only had one restaurant (buffet style). The workers of this resort work very hard to offer you a great experience. This resort is budget friendly so you get what you pay for. It's very limited.

The view from the room is good on a beautiful beach but the hotel is old and room not properly cleaned. Every time I shower during the shower the water would cut off and take a while to come back in. The water was hot the first night but after that it was extremely cold. Food was decent but service was really slow if you want something made especially at the snack shack. Overall beautiful hotel on the outside by the beach only and needs to work on service.

This is my first time in Jamaica and it will not be my last. I was happy that this resort is close to the airport. As for the accommodations, I was able to do my morning swim every day with the exception to the few days that followed a storm. The room was always quiet and tidy. The waiters, waitresses, and barmen were always friendly and made me feel at home. I especially liked that the hotel manager, Charmaine, went the extra mile to greet us in the dining room to be sure that everything was all right. There was always a great selection of food. I'm glad that they served mostly Jamaican cuisine rather than North American food. After all, I didn't fly from Montreal to eat food that I normally eat at home. When I come back, I'll be glad to stay here again.

At this hotel you get what you pay for. Very reasonably priced. But I would not say it's kids due to the lack of kids activities. Just the kids pool that is 4ft deep...But nothing actually. However my kids enjoyed the beach and pool. The beach is very clean. Crystal clear water with little fishes... Doesn't smell. Nice simple gym. Only two restaurants which is a Jamaican and Mediterranean (serving fish). The rooms are very simple (we got Ocean view). No fridge or coffee maker. And some of wait staff weren't very friendly. Guess because they were overworked. Overall the food tasted okay. Overall a good Resort for the price....

I am a frequent traveler and I have never been so ready to leave a hotel! The check in process took forever then when we finally got to the room there were no towels or washcloths. We had to wait almost an hour, not to mention we were starving and ready to shower and eat. The only food option available was a snack shack which also took forever for our food. At check in we were not informed that the only A LA Cart restaurant on the premises was reservations only so we were forced to eat at the buffet. The food was horrible and cold. There is no music or entertainment until 9:30 p.m. I made reservations for a different resort for tomorrow I don't care if I lose money. This place was listed as 4 stars. It is more like 2.5 stars. Do yourself a favor and spend a little more money for a much better property. It's not worth it!

This hotel and Jamaica altogether was amazing. My wife and I had the best time of our lives and stayed here for 7 days. I see a lot of mixed reviews about certain aspects but in my opinion the food was amazing, the entertainment was excellent and the host was really awesome. Staff are super accommodating and friendly. The hotel needs a little paint and the rooms are not the best but its Jamaica man you dont go there to stay on the resort the whole time. Its very safe, you have 24 hour security with a monitored gate at all times. Location is good and the view of the ocean was amazing. One tip I do have is do not book your excursions through the hotel, there are a lot of great drivers who will give better service for a cheaper price. Ask the front desk they will help you find a good, safe driver. Would definitely consider going back in the future.

We had the pleasure of staying at this lovely resort! We had an incredible time and truly an unforgettable experience in Jamaica! We highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for a place with all inclusive food, fun, drinks and entertainment! THEY DID NOT DISAPPOINT!

The view was amazing. The all incisive isn't that great. Dining buffet serves the same thing basically everyday. The pool bartender was amazing highly recommend getting your drinks from the pool area. Staff was very polite & welcoming. Bathroom outdated water leaks, lighting dim.

I have mixed reviews about our stay here. We had one room for three people, room was clean, minus some mold in the bathroom sink. Three beds - two full, one twin. The twin bed had no comforter or pillow on it - was mostly used for storage. As a reservation of 3, we only had two a bath towels and a bath mat (no hand towels or wash cloths). We were able to get some later after we were told their machines were broken. Our bathroom ended up flooding because of the framing of the shower - the shower head had to pretty much face the wall in order to not flood the bathroom. Our safe broke twice in two days, first day it just stopped taking our code, the second day one of the buttons we used in our code stopped working. However, everyone at this resort was very friendly and fun to talk to. Staff was very helpful when we had the issues. Drinks and food were delicious. We had direct access to the beach, with an amazing ocean view from our room. Pool was always kept pretty clean for being used by so many people. You have direct access to the beach and can also go to the sister resort right next door and have all the access over there. Not the worst resort to stay at, but could definitely use some improving.

My friends and I had a very enjoyable stay! The resort was beautiful and had fun activities. The food was great and of good variety. The only reason this isn’t a 5-star review is that the rooms were a bit old, towels were hard to come by, and our room was next to a noisy club. Guest services was very attentive though and addressed the noise issue. Overall, we all had a great time and felt very safe. I’d go back.

First we there celebrating my sister birthday and overall the resort is nasty we both got bed bug bite marks all over our bodies . The manger and front desk didn’t compensate us at all they tried to make her pay the nurse at the resort $45 to get treated after we both just paid $35 for a Covid test . We left a day early and stay at the airport. Food is disgusting we barely ate the whole 4 days we were there . You’ll have to go off the resort to enjoy the view at the resort is beautiful that’s about the only good thing . We are very upset at this property.

This was our first time going to Jamaica. We stayed at the Royal Decameron Montego Beach. The room was great, the cleaning stuff was so nice, efficient and incredible. The staff overall was fantastic. The resort it’s self is in an amazing location - the beach is incredible and the food was wonderful. Beds were slightly uncomfortable but everything else made up for it. Other guests were kind and courteous. All male workers were fantastic always helpful, nice and went out of their way to say hello and see if we needed anything. We can’t wait to go back (we didn’t even want to leave)

Despite some of the negative reviews....I found this place to be beautiful and charming. Beautiful ocean view from every room, the staff is super friendly, they went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable, food was great, entertainment every night was great, snorkeling, dance lessons, swim up bar and more. It wasnt super modern but that's what made it special and feel more like home. I would definitely stay again. I didn't really like the neighborhood busyness and traffic and the local shops seemed a little too rustic and abandoned but everything else was great.

I hardly leave reviews, if at all, but this resort needs a major renovation and they really should train better at customer service, I, along with a group of ladies, stayed at this resort from 6/25/2023-6/30/2023. The hotel is really close to the airport (about 5 minutes, which is great) and there is a lot of places around such as restaurants and shops within walking distance, but from the moment you enter to the overall attention that one, as a paying customer that one should receive, is extremely disappointing. The multiple rooms that we stayed were very outdated. We all had one or more discrepancies in the room from malfunctioning doors (entrance and balcony) broken toilet seats, A/C, shower curtains and rods and missing safety lock and key for the safety box. Instead of addressing these issues, they completely ignored it, gave us attitude and acted like we just wanted to whine and be a nuance. They said that they were hearing my concerns, but they really were not. We all stayed in these rooms for the entire 5 days we were there and there was not even a good-faith check in. We met a few other wonderful travelers and tried to make the best of it. But the downside was our mutual disdain and disappointments over the resort as whole. I must point out a few staff members that were wonderful and really tried their best to make our experience better, from Monisha at the buffet, to Everett, to Chevough or "Chevy" the bartender, and Anna, who works in the front desk. The food was descent, and the drinks were interesting, Overall, the experience of Jamaica is truly unique and can be very enjoyable, but this particular resort as whole should definitely do better and be better when it comes to a complete renovation to better customer service and detailed attention. It really wouldn't be fair to not share the experience for others that may want to travel to Jamaica and are considering this resort. Honestly for me, it wasn't the most terrible, but it certainly wasn't satisfying, and I don't see myself going back there at all.

I felt very unsafe staying at this hotel because during my stay, two staff members had an altercation in which one threatened violence against the other. I had a long wait time for the room, which was another stressful experience. The room floor was filthy, the food was cold and not great with a limited selection of options, and very poor customer service. They have no elevator with limited bellboys to assist with transporting your luggage. The only things I liked include the balcony view and the fact that the hotel or motel is within close proximity of the airport. This place is for extremely broke or low standards individuals, and even then, the money you think that you are saving is not worth the stress and poor experience staying here. I would suggest saving your money and going somewhere else.

The beach was beautiful but when the sun sets there is NOTHING to do! Our rooms though clean were dated, two of our booked rooms did not have working AC and one did not have a working toilet :) The food was flavorless and there is only one restaurant but you have to be up at 6am to make a reservation that day and even then you probably won't get one. COVID shut this place down, the advertised Glitter and Disco bars are shut down so the only form of night time entertainment is a 30 minute dance show at 9:30. The drinks were fairly nasty and the staff is honestly rude, trying to get service at a restaurant was nearly impossible and if you did they gave you serious attitude. Overall I would choose somewhere else to stay, Jamaica is beautiful and we had a decent time but I was disappointed in the Royal Decameron

Stayed here for 3 nights and the entertainment was great! Breakfast could've been better...but lunch and dinner was good. Staff is not all friendly but they weren't rude either. Not enough drinks to chose from...I mean they don't even serve mudslides or dirty banana... but it is what it is. Kimberly checked us in and she was great. The view from the room was beautiful.

It’s a very great option if you’re looking for a budget vacation. The entertainment and activities were great. The food was okay and there were a variety of food options which gave a nice little Caribbean experience. The service was okay, very friendly staff that were happy to assist you and made the trip very welcoming. The rooms were pretty okay and clean but of course it happens to be an older hotel so you get what you pay for (for example: They don’t provide washcloths anymore). Overall it’s worth the trip.

This place is overwhelmingly unprofessional. For example, local, hard working residents come on a trip but they are faced with great discrimination at the dining area. Waitresses are outlandishly impolite in body language and verbal expressions. It is remorseful to know that I am a black person in my country and I am treated with disdain. At the grill, there were clear frustrations at the level of the waiters which spilled on local residents who were consistently treated poorly. My only highlight was seeing Ms Roxanne over the Cornwall property who said “my pleasure”. This warmed my heart. I booked into Montego Bay but I felt I had better treatment at Cornwall which is an adjoining property for access to guests. I recommend that there is constant on the ground surveys done by managerial staff to facilitate immediate feedback from guests. Kindly consider a water park and kids area as these are great facilities that an all inclusive hotel should have which is attractive. Honestly, I’m deeply saddened by the service from front desk personnels who checked me in on Wednesday, particularly the waiters and waitresses at the grill and main dining area. Big up to an enthusiasts Chef Viall Donaldson who greeted the guests unbiased with his charm as he served food. Big ups to the chef who handled her job well with making omelets.

The food was great but most of the staff were savage. I don’t know if it’s because of salary, but they have a don’t care attitude. The room I got was very close to the road, didn’t get much sleep, lots of disturbance from the main road. SHANIQUE WILSON from Olivia restaurant was incredibly nice though.

The people of Jamaica surprised us a lot with their kindness, they are very interesting. Their focuses in tourism are valuable. They are noisy, very happy and more polite than the ones we knew. We enjoyed our family vacation in November 2023. The weather was fresh, foods was delicious, although spicy. We are planning to come back to Jamaica in three years, if God allows us.

We just returned home from my first family vacation. It was sad that the service was so lack. We had to beg for shower towels for 24 hours. The fridge never had water refilled. There was never enough plates for meals. It was very under staffed. There was a lady who had puked every where and staff did nothing till I asked the bartender to get someone. That took over an hour. I heard that I wouldn't be disappointed. I left feeling sad

Staff was friendly, check and out was good. Entertainment staff were excellent and worked very hard. Resort is very dated and needs a complete renovation. Maintenance in this resort is very poor and needs an overhaul.I wouldn’t recommend it as a first choice, you get what you pay for. A 3 star at best.

  • 3/5 Imani H. 3 months ago on Google New
Despite a generally positive experience, the bathrooms require renovation, and dining chairs need cleaning. An ongoing issue was the shortage of plates in the dining area. On the bright side, the staff provided excellent service, and the food was consistently enjoyable. Additionally, the nightly and daily entertainment offered a variety of engaging and fun activities for both adults and children.

We had our first family all-inclusive stay for 9 days, thanks to the affordability of the resort. However, we were extremely disappointed with the state of the resort maintenance. The bathrooms were clean, but the stalls were falling over and wouldn't close. The boardwalks were closed and in need of repair. The dining room furniture was dirty and worn. The chairs need to be replaced or completely refinished and reupholstered. The grooves in the tables are not appropriate and should be replaced with a completely flat surface. Towels for our room were hard to get consistently, and the resort lost water pressure briefly one morning. The entertainment staff were friendly and engaging. We tried to always sit in Tatiana's section for meals. The resort location near the airport and the water access were awesome attractive features. This resort has great potential, and the sister resort Cornwall gave extended amenity options. Pack your patience and expectations if you choose it.

The beach is beautiful! I love that it's a small hotel on the beach and you only have a one minute walk to everything. It's great for a 3 star. Heads up! The elevator is still not working this year so if you have any mobility issues, request a room on the ground floor.

  • 3/5 Melyssa L. 2 years ago on Google
It could have been better but the rooms are old, our air conditioner did not work, had to call maintenance 4 times to fix and still was uncomfortable. Dining staff are awesome and make up for the rooms. View was awesome, food good.. wish they had more selections. I would not stay here again.

I will never send back my family to this hotel, you guys need to do better as a hotel.. FIRST DAY NO GOOD FOOD OR NOT ENOUGH OPTIONS, NO TOWEL TO USE BY THE POOL OR BEACH. I KNOW IT'S NOT A 5 STAR HOTEL BUT DECAMERON YOU CAN DO BETTER. Also, I know everyone will have a different review of what they experienced but my family went and it wasn't an enjoyable one at ALL. I WOULD'VE GIVEN YOU 0 STAR IF I COULD!!!

Overall experience was good. Checkin not so much as we arrived around 11:30am and check in was 3. The only good thing was that we were given our hotel bands and were able to eat lunch. Pack change of clothes and swim suit in your carry-on as you may wait well past 3. Better communication is needed between front desk and cleaning staff for the room turn overs seeing that check out is supposed to be by 12pm. Overall staff were great and accommodating. It was 10 of us staying and we were able to have beach front rooms beside each other. The food was great especially at the action station. There is one amazing lady and I think her name is Pet. She can take 3 or 4 orders for omelets or any kind of eggs you want at the same time and she is always smiling and any requests she will try and make it happen make sure you put something in her tip jar it's well deserved. Again Overall staff were great if we needed something. Yes sometimes it took asking more than once but the staff tried. Mr Manager needs to stop showing his pearly whites and help his staff out more.

We were well secured. The service was excellent the people's were wonderful. We met people's all over the world visiting. The food was delicious. The entertainment was great. We could eat at the other restaurants. The views from our room was breath taking. The ocean and the sun set was breath taking at night's and mornings. Will return with family's and friends. Thank for the wonderful time you spend.

Initially I was nervous based on reviews on other sites. However I was pleasantly surprised and satisfied. The beach and view was absolutely amazing. The rooms were simple however all we used it for was bathing and sleeping and it did the job. There isn’t room service but plenty of food options. If you’re not a fan of West Indian foods you may be a bit disappointed but there are other foods , you’re in Jamaica for Christ sake. So expecting American foods is pretty silly. The staff was very pleasant and nice ; even told us where to go to party and at times escorted us. If you’re a group of women it is pretty sketchy, walking from a club people did try to pickpocket/rob us- so protect yourself. Overall I really enjoyed the stay !

Most beautiful beach I've been, rooms are comfortable to spend the night, nothing fancy. Food is very spicy, always! So you gotta be careful with that There are a lot of sellers and tours in the hotel so basically you never have to leave the hotel, overall a very good experience Will definitely be back

A quaint all inclusive getaway. Rooms were simple and clean, meals were buffet style and well prepared with no specialty dining options. Pool was underwhelming. Beach extended along the length of the property. Prices was very reasonable for the quality received. This can be a low key place to unwind from a stressful job, rest and relax

  • 3/5 Gella R. 1 year ago on Google
I'll premise by saying the staff for the most were incredibly courteous. Much respect to Charmaine, she checked us in, very sweet lady. We only had one issue with staff, no utensils on our table, we asked two different people, and had to take some from another table as they never brought us any. Our room was clean, but they did not have a king fitted sheet on the bed. I called the front desk, no one answered, I had to go in person to get sheets. The elevator doesn't work, so if you're on the higher floors, prepare to take the stairs. The food wasn't good, one of the restaurants on the beach basically served us the worst burger I've ever tasted. Btw the burger was the only option at the time. I enjoyed their nightly entertainment, and the grounds are nice. You do have access to both properties, but the Cornwall is best. The Montego is in desperate need of renovations.

Food was good, however I believe there should be more variety and the snack restaurant service need to improve on their service. Buffet need more food on the menu for children and persons who do not eat chicken, pork or beef. Customer service excellent. The room needed a fridge. Entertainment was okay could be much better

Excellent service from start to finish. Staff were all professional and courteous. Rooms were cleaned every day and on whole, the entire hotel was kept spotless. There were activities throughout the day, though I recommend booking daily excursions to see the sights, which my wife and I did. At night, there was live musical performances which was amazing. Bar tenders kept the alcohol flowing, didn't feel that I had to wait too long. Definitely recommend to anyone new to Jamaica.

We had our honeymoon here many years ago 1998 and can honestly say it was fantastic. The one chap stood out for me in the diving team Sam great chap. From the food to the staff all excellent. We have often talked about going back and hopefully will. The rooms beach fronts are great also. A truly beautiful place to stay. If your thinking about staying here we’ll it’s a must. Enjoy.

This was my first time in Jamaica and I can definitely say I enjoyed every second of it. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcome. The food and service at this hotel were excellent. The staff was very polite and very helpful. One person who stuck out to me particularly was one of the performers, MJ. Not only was he a great performer, he was also very engaging and just all around a genuine person. Even though it was not his job to do so, he made sure we were okay and felt comfortable. Thank you for making my experience at this hotel such a great experience. I would return again without a doubt.
