Stayed at this resort for 5 days. Loved the resort. It was peaceful and very clean. My room was very clean upon check in. Check in was a breeze and I loved that they offered drinks upon arrival. The staff was very polite my whole stay. When I called a few days before my trip to have some questions answered the women on the phone hung up on me and was really rude so I was worried about the staff but that all changed when I actually got to the resort. Pool and the beach were very clean. Towels were available as well ! I loved the entertainment at the pool and the coconut man that went around cutting them for guests. The one thing I really didn’t like about the resort was the food. I understand that there is a lot of guests but the wait times for some tables were ridiculous. I also didn’t like that the buffet was only open for breakfast and lunch but not dinner. I feel like it should be open for more so dinner instead of lunch for those who can’t wait on waiting lists for the other restaurants. I also don’t like that two of the restaurants are by reservation only. I was unable to eat at both when I was there and I was really disappointed. I was told that they were booked until the day I was leaving which was a huge disappointment. At the other restaurants the food (for dinner) often took forever to get to the table and we’re sometimes cold. A person in my party even had to request the food to be warmed up. Another issue I had was with room service. Due to lines being so long at the restaurants and coming back late from an excursion we would order room service but depending on the time some food items were not available which was strange. Drinks were available all day which was amazing ! During my second day the AC was leaking in my room and they fixed it right away which was awesome! The excursion ladies were so nice as well !! They were very helpful ! Some helpful hints I would give is to revamp the dinning at the resort. Also I think a microwave should be either placed in the rooms or have one on each floor. After coming back from in town most people have unfinished food and I know for me I would like to warm it up the next day. Overall the resort was very nice and I would definitely stay again. It would be perfect if they fixed the food situation! I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and I will definitely be back.

Travelled with a group of 7 women, first let’s start with the good. We had amazing weather, hotel is close to the airport, it’s not too big. A few of the staff were really nice- Patrick one of the chefs in during breakfast, and Daniel who helped us at the beach. This is definitely not a 5 star resort, 3 at best. Very outdated, it’s evident nothing has been done since it opened. Food is gross, unless you’re into greasy, deep fried buffets. If you have dietary restrictions , it will be challenging. We had 1 person with a diary allergy and 1 vegetarian and options, and accommodations were very limited. Rooms have mould in bathrooms. Staff will roll their eyes even when asked for the simplest things, tips help but you definitely feel like an inconvenience. Service is slow, not like we’re from North America slow, but 1 hr wait for appetizers at almost empty restaurant slow. Getting beach chairs is challenging-you either have to save it early AM or you will not have them . But be also prepared for some people to fully rip off your towels and take your spot. We made it a fun trip since we were staying 4 days, but would not recommend this hotel.

Would not suggest this resort to anyone. Highly disappointed and to be frank not quite sure how they are an accredited resort, they need to be audited. Note: we are leaving a day early due to how pathetic it really is. I tried holding my tongue and don’t typically write reviews, but want to make sure this is seen and anyone that is thinking of booking steers clear. This resort is outdated and old for what you pay. The rooms are unsanitary, our closet door was off the hinges completely and wouldn’t slide. The elevators need to be updated. The food is subpar at best. Flies all over buffet food and workers act like it’s no problem.. ordered room service one evening and it took over an hour to deliver, once delivered they didn’t even have our order correct. Staff: majority unfriendly and act like you are an inconvenience to them when asking for the simplest of things (bottled water, fresh towels, umbrella) For the money paid, this is no where near a 5-star, I give it a 1-star at best. I’m so disappointed and will be taking it up with management.

I read the reviews for this place the night before I traveled there and I got worried, but it was awesome! The food was good, the people were friendly, the room was clean and comfortable... it was all great. A Dirty Banana is the best drink, and be sure to catch the jerk chicken cart when you can. It passed by the pool around 2 - 3 in the afternoon and I even found it at night one time. Delicious! We went for a wedding, and the guy that married the couple was super cool!

I would have to say I wouldn’t recommend this resort if you are looking for good service. The staff are not as pleasant as other secret resorts. We were not welcomed when we arrived to the main lobby. Some of the staff waiters/waitress made you feel like you were bothering them, many times we would have to wait 15 minutes just to get out drinks. Some of the staff lighten up after being tipped and would provide you better service. I can name a few of the members that were really pleasant and made our stay more enjoyable. Alvin and Jovani the bartenders were a delight and super fun. Lisa from preferred club was awesome and upgraded our honeymoon package based on the days we stayed there. Carol in the buffet was also super sweet. Those were the individuals that made the experience delightful, but overall not the best resort I’ve been to.

I’ve stayed at an all inclusive resort many times. I was taken back by how much tipping was expected. Service was great if they were getting tipped well but if you did not tip service was very scarce. So much for do not tip. Even when getting change you felt like they were expecting a tip. Accommodations were ok my room didn’t seem too clean. Also, there were a number of feral cats on the property and eating outside was something I looked forward to but these cats were begging at our feet and under our tables. I found that very uncomfortable considering I am not a person who likes an animal around my feet during a meal. I also noticed these animals eating off the plates and tables when the patrons left. The preferred upgrade of $250 per day was really pushed on us. When we said no they asked what were we willing to pay to get an upgrade. They claimed it was not a timeshare tour but kept insisting we take it. The friendly people when we arrived were not as friendly when we refused. In my opinion I would pay extra to stay at a REALLY ALL INCLUSIVE resort which this was definitely not!!

Should have gone with Sandals. The only reason the property has a 2 is because the resort is very pretty, clean and we did enjoy our room but unfortunately that's where it stops and I'm sure there's countless other properties that are pretty with great rooms so I'd advise going elsewhere. Please be aware YOU DO NOT GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR HERE. Service is about 2 stars, and that's generous. Even with tipping (which you're advised not to do) you're genuinely surprised when staff cares about your experience.. and this was from start. Late checking us in, which typically isn't a huge problem except they ignore you standing in the lobby, so you have to ask several members what's going on. Waiters are so indifferent about your experience they might as well not even be there at all. Lastly booking anything is hard work. There's stations where you need to book spa, restaurants, etc and by the time we actually get to talk to a real person at their assigned post, reservations are full past your stay. Oh, you can call, but we didn't have a representative answer the phone once. Not once. Please enjoy your stay on this beautiful island elsewhere. Please spend your money on something you'll feel good about staying at.. disappointed is an understatement. Edit* I forgot to add how underwhelming the drinks and food are here. (Although they do pour heavy if that's what you like.) It feels as if so many corners are being cut, you truly never feel indulged.

My stay was amazing! This was my first time at this resort. My room was fantastic! The customer service was top notch. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. They did an amazing job and sanitizing and following Covid-19 processes and procedures. The entertainment, food, and drinks were awesome as well. Will be coming back! This is a perfect place for a girls trip, couples trip, honeymoon, or just a vacation.

My husband and I stayed here the beginning of November, for our first trip to Jamaica. The service was top notch and we really enjoyed everyone’s charisma and bright spirit. Special shout out to Robert and Cheston for looking after us for the week, you guys were great! The location was perfect and the beach was incredible! We spent as much time in the beautiful water as possible. Overall, the food and drinks were great, but the customer service tied everything together. Thank you all for such a lovely time!

Would I visit this place again: No. Was this place clean: The staff was doing a great job of keeping everything clean. Hyatt on the other hand needs to keep the needed repairs in order. Outdoor seating: Everywhere. Was this place hard to find: If you don’t use the airport driving services you will be lost forever. What would I change about this place: The app is basically useless. It doesn’t show daily events, and the live request room service portion doesn’t work at all. We received room service only once out of 5 tries. The house wine is garbage and the premium wines are unapproachable. The liquor is 100% watered down in every opened bottle. All of the food (outside of breathless) is subpar and tasteless. The all inclusiveness is purposely made to be undesirable making you not want to capitalize on it. What was my favorite thing about this place: The wait staff is AMAZING and work extremely hard to make sure you as a guest is happy and smiling during your entire stay. PLEASE TIP EVERYONE APPROPRIATELY!!!

I have stayed at one other Royal Secrets and loved it. So I was looking forward to coming to this resort. I was highly disappointed from the welcome we received the small enclosed lobby the small bar in the lounge and NO AC in the public areas. So the only place you comfortably could hang was your room. The open bathroom leaves no privacy, the drinks are mediocre, excursions are generally 1 to 2 hours away, not their fault but be mindful. Entertainment is lacking and they're not very informative as to activities on the property unless you stand at the billboard to look at the schedule. There's a whole tablet in your room along with an app, put the info there! Anyways it was fairly good trip, definitely wouldn't recommend to my friends I even told my niece who is a travel not to send her clients here. ALSO BRING MOSQUITO REPELLENT!!! You've been warned! You have access to St. James and if you're preferred you can go to Breathless via the bridge from St. James. Rooftop bar for dinner, highly recommend the view and and the area beautiful. Breath taking for sure. Overall for the price you pay to come here it doesn't say luxury and several visitors we spoke to said the same.

We just want to send a huge thank you to Marie and staff at this resort. Marie specifically went above and beyond to make me feel very special during my visit for my birthday. The room was phenomenal, the food was great (including room service), and the beach was beautiful. We cannot wait to come back!

Was here 6 nights. Diamond club with butler service. Probably one of the most memorable experiences I will have at a hotel. Every worker I came across had a attitude. You could tell quickly, workers were underpaid and didn’t care at all. I was shocked, knew immediately I wouldn’t be spending much tip money. We were there for a wedding, to my amazement, we weren’t the only ones getting trash service. Hell I didn’t even attempt to call the butler anymore, he was completely useless. The only good thing about this resort was in the diamond club lunge we had Hennessy and other top shelf liquors. Otherwise just trash. Had only cold running water. Neither the hot tub inside or outside worked. Had to have the room re cleaned after check in due to it being dirty, hair all over the place. Tried to make me wait hours like the others at check in for room, told them “don’t want food and warm champagne , just my room”. The restaurant situation is useless, we were forced to order room service. This resort is not Jamaica, it is not home.

This was the worse place I have ever stayed. The staff I mean the WHOLE staff from the time of check in to check out was terrible, they were rude and unfriendly. It took a over a day to bring extra pillows. They did not provide enough towels for two people. We called for extra towels and they would bring one towel not a set but one towel. There was a crack in the shower floor that leaked water into the bathroom ( fall hazard) was told someone would come and no one came and no follow up. The rooms were not as advertised. They were not really clean, no dusting at eye level. The food was not good either. The activities and the nightlife was non existent. What was very blatant and overtly present was the treatment of white Europeans versus black Americans and black Jamaicans, the staff displayed friendly interactions with white people and were very discriminatory towards black people in general. Finally went down to complain to the manager or whomever was acting manager and they allow us access to another resort whose hospitality and food and overall vibe was spectacular. And a $200 resort credit. This doesn't by any means compensate the treatment and horrible customer service we experienced. I would never stay there again.

I was nervous to book at first due to some of the reviews I read. I must say overall I had a great stay. Beautiful resort, great staff, food, beach, spacious rooms, refreshing cocktails etc. Housekeeping made sure our room was tidy & even straighten up belongings and mopped floors. Only complaint I had was with room service the ETA of food seem to be extended than what was listed on the tablet. Restaurants we did not have much of a wait at all. I would highly recommend & plan to be back soon. Everyone was friendly my guest & I enjoyed the stay.

My wife and I came on our honeymoon and had a fantastic time. The staff were very accommodating, our room was great and meals were fantastic. A few employees to highlight were; Jordan the lifeguard at the preferred club beach. Jordan went above and beyond teaching visitors about the ocean and different wildlife. Romaine at the Hibachi Grill. Romaine was very entertaining and a great chef, which made for a very fun night. And Matthew the bellhop. Matthew was great to talk to and always checked in if my wife or I needed anything. Overall great experience.

Great ocean view with several water activities at the resort. The rooms were clean and experienced great housekeeping staff, who were also client friendly, Daniel was very helpful during our stay. Restaurants had long wait time, and only enjoyed Hibachi's food. The Resort is at a great location if interested in off Resort activities. Negative 1 Star due to The Check in process that was too lengthy; Please look into this.

The resort was amazing. My room was clean. The staff was friendly. Ms. Diana cleaned my room and was very nice and we chatted briefly. I had a wonderful experience. I wish I had stayed a few extra days. I stayed 4 nights. There were 9 restaurants on the resort and lots of activities at the resort. I also left the resort multiple times for shopping, food and excursions. The cab drivers that are at the resort are friendly and nice. I had a gentleman named Cedrick. I highly recommend him. I felt safe when I left the resort and ventured into a local pharmacy and downtown to shop and eat. I definitely would visit this resort again. I will recommend bringing money for tips and cab fare. Excursions are not close by so you will need money for that. 1-2 hours is the time for travel one way for excursions. So it will be an all day activity with if you go to JamWest or Good Hope.

We stayed here for our honeymoon and will definitely be making a trip back. Devon and Adia helped create an incredible experience for us! Their effort and work did not go unnoticed and we are extremely grateful for them. The Wild Orchid section is closer to the nightly entertainment and restaurants which was huge! The food was so good and we started and ended the night at the piano bar every day. The beach was very private and exactly what we needed to have a relaxing honeymoon and some intimate time together. Strongly recommended!

This was our 5th year in a row here and we will be back. The staff was great helpful and friendly. The food was good and many different choices. The drinks were cold and tasty. The entertainment was good with something different every night. The pools were great, and the snorkeling off the beach was great.

We traveled here with friends in July 2022. We usually stay at Secrets brand resorts, so we were hoping this resort would live up to our expectations, since this was our friends' first time on vacation out of the U.S.A. and our 1st time to Jamaica. The resort itself is beautiful! The rooms, however, STUNK of mold and mildew! We've never experienced a stench like that! We realize the humidity plays a role in that, but the smell was beyond anything! Our room doors were slick with humidity and gross to touch. Most disgusting room smell, and not as clean as they should be! Not up to Secrets expectations for sure. The food was pretty good, as all Secrets have the same restaurant options. We enjoyed walking around the resort, laying on the beach, and relaxing in the pool. They had some fun pool entertainment to partake in! However, we also experienced discrimination. We try to be friendly to everyone, however, there were quite a few unfriendly guests. This was our first vacation where we felt semi-unwelcomed. The staff were nice, but it was the guests who made us feel "less than" (for lack of a better term). But, it was only certain guests, and we tried to make the best of our vacation. We also felt the pool service was lacking. We had told our friends that we'd be taken care of at the pool and on the beach, however, this was NOT the case! If we were asked what we wanted to drink (which maybe only happened twice in our entire weeks stay there), we'd place our order...never to see our server or drinks again! Totally unacceptable! We had to get all of our drinks and food OURSELVES every single day of our vacation. We enjoyed our excursion to Dunn River Falls, and the boat trip back was fun with music and dancing! While we can see the potential in this resort...this is one Secrets we will never return to. The resort grounds, the pools and beach are very nice!! The rooms and services are not up to the Secrets brand level...not even close.

I spent seven days at Breathless and Secrets resort in Montego Bay. It was a wonderful experience. The food was absolutely fantastic and the rooms were to die for. You do have to pay a bit more but there’s nothing better than staying in a bougie hotel that has fantastic service excellent food and great customer service. I would definitely recommend it. It is a high-end hotel and spa, but it’s worth every penny.

My husband and I went here for our honeymoon over the Thanksgiving break. We were told we’d have a happy honeymoon banner on our door and a complimentary bottle of champagne, neither of which we received. Check in was extremely slow, but once we were finally checked in we had to listen to a representative try to offer us free coupons and other gifts in exchange for sitting through a timeshare presentation. Annoying but the rep wasn’t too pushy. The phone in our room did not work so we couldn’t call front desk or get room service the entire time. We told the front desk and they had someone come the last day of our trip to fix it. The staff is very nice and friendly, accommodating and understanding to guests needs. The beach and ocean are beautiful but very small. Our first day we went to the beach after breakfast and every beach chair had already been claimed by people who throw down a towel but don’t occupy the chair. The next morning we were smart and awoke early to get straight to the beach, at 6:15am we got the last beach chairs with an umbrella so we recommend waking early.

Dunn here. English. Special mentions to Matthew (bell boy), all the staff down the Barracuda bar, Anton at Preferred and the nice lady who put up with drunkards when we were getting a late night coffee. All the staff were great. Resort was lovely. 99% of it was 1st class. Here's the 'but,' Your preferred public areas are markedly more run down than the rest of the site. I resented having to pay extra to look at builders sand and rubble before we got to the beach. I further resented a much inferior pool to the bit everyone had access to. For food in the Preferred...you need more choice, more heat under the food, bread and a toasting machine. Otherwise a great resort. I mean that. Phillip, the guy who mixed drinks in the piano bar was the best bartender I've ever laid eyes on. There were others too. The guy who does the towels in reserved...top guy. Life guards were sound too. Some great entertainment put on too. Fantastic house bands. Tip for people getting preferred....nip into Breathless for food. Great rooftop restaurant and some other brilliant places at ground level. Despite being about 5000 miles away, we might actually come back. X

Everything about the stay was mediocre. The room was a bit dirty with dirt and grass on the rugs. You can’t turn around without someone trying to sell you something which was the most annoying part of trying to take a relaxing vacation. Additionally, our hotel phone rang more than our actual phones. We were constantly receiving calls about reservations for the Christmas dinner which was $300 per couple at an all inclusive resort. The service was also just okay, a few times at breakfast we had already eaten our meals before our coffee arrived. Our tablet and phone stopped working in our room but no one from service came to fix it, despite us reporting it. The drinks and food were far from great. As a Hyatt globalist I don’t think they provide any additional perks (at least they didn’t for us). Overall, I wouldn’t book secrets again, not worth the price point or the mental strain of batting off people trying to sell you stuff.

First, let me say- the property is beautiful and the direct service staff (waiters/bartenders) were super friendly and helpful. While the property was great, this will not be a resort that I will be returning to. I am a Preferred Diamond Member with the resort, and this is the worst customer service experience I have had at one of the properties. We arrived at the property around 11 am. We were allowed to check in and told our room would likely be ready before the standard 3 pm time for guests to go to their rooms. We checked back with the Preferred Club staff multiple times. Each time the Preferred Club staff acted as if they had not met us before. Camille tried to sell us a membership our family already owns. I was also told that I was not really a member by a Preferred Club staff. It was the most chaotic and disorganized check-in experience that I have ever had. The room was not ready until 5 pm. We honestly had to raise our voices and refuse to leave the club at this point to be given our room keys. I am big on customer service and am someone who communicates, so I told Camille that this experience had been difficult and unsatisfying. I hoped things would be made right. She was very short and unprofessional with me. She told me all the reasons I was wrong. She told me she would speak with the management to see what they could do. She then went into another room where we could hear her talking negatively about my husband and me through the door. In an apparent effort to calm things in front of the other guests, Camille told us she would walk us to our room and show us the amenities. She then walked us around the corner and pointed us to the elevator. She simply told us to go to the 3rd floor and take a right instead. We did not hear anything from Camille for the rest of the trip. After roughly 36 hours, I reached out to the VIP staff via email. Several days later, I was informed that the situation was being escalated and would be remedied quickly. Needless to say, nothing was addressed by any staff member. The VIP membership our family owns is supposed to provide automatic room upgrades. Of course, our room was not upgraded- although we spoke with several non-preferred club members who did get upgrades to their rooms. It certainly seems that signing up new members is all that matters. Once you are a member, you lose all the perks that are provided to potential members. It sure seems more important to take care of those who haven't signed on the dotted line. They may say "welcome home"- but it is far from being treated like family. In addition, I found a lizard and a roach in my room and got food poisoning twice while at the resort. I recommend avoiding the buffet for that reason. From a family who spent tens of thousands of dollars to purchase this membership, it sure does not seem worth it.

Writing this New Year’s Eve 2021. Staff needs service training or something. I’d say 70% of staff is great and friendly. The other 30 is… wow. So they have desserts set up outside for the New Years celebration. They have no clear place where to put used plates so looked for a staff member. When I asked “where can I drop off used plates?” She literally rolled her eyes at me and reluctantly took the plate. A lot of the staff can be seen chit chatting and not really doing anything. I am more than happy to clean up on my own but seriously, the eye role is one of many like reactions I’ve had here when asking a simple question. I’ve stopped asking questions honestly so I don’t go off on these rude staff. But to those who are so nice and friendly, thank you! Your kind “hello” and “hi” are so much to make vacations memorable.

Overall a very nice resort and great service! Well trained staff and beautiful grounds. Preferred club is well worth it and all preferred staff including bellman, checkin, lounge service and housekeeping were very nice. The food is something to be desired. For all the greatness of the resort, the food at all restaurants and offerings was not up to standards. Under and over cooked, sitting for hours, ill prepared and boring selections. Will go back and hope food is selected and offered befitting the standards of the resort.

Secrets Wild Orchard preferred is the ultimate in personal service and luxury. I have been to 2 other resorts within the last 30 days and Secrets is the best. The food was exceptional and the accommodations were lush. Any request is acted on promptly and to your satisfaction. I totally recommend coming to Secrets Wild Orchard preferred. I will be coming back again. Special thanks to Shericka and Mathew who went beyond to make our trip great.

My husband and I, had the most lovely vacation here!! It was beautiful and clean and they wanted to please us in every way. We had many dietary restrictions but they took all that information smoothly and accommodated our needs. They even gave us the personal contact to the chef of one of the restaurants to help us and he was our private chef…cooked us a yummy meal in front of our face using all new utensils. They also gave us a ton of fruit to help us during the day. Was so good.

More than anything, I enjoyed the people, friendly service and grounds of this resort. The rooms left a lot to be desired for a 5 star resort. The floors in our room looked unclean upon check in and sure enough, there was quite a bit of dirt if one wanted to walk barefoot on the floor. The views from our room was nice, we had an ocean facing room which made for incredible views each day. Would I stay here again? I'm highly doubtful because the resort did not live up to my expectations of a 5 star resort but the staff and the beautiful grounds made up for all the short comings I experienced. The jerk chicken cart each night made for an additional perk for the trip. They certainly do not go lightly on the alcohol which was nice. That's one difference I noticed with this resort when compared to other resorts I've stayed. The alcohol was rather generously given here. In my opinion, this resort was lacking in a variety of daytime activities but if one has their own agenda or is only looking to relax by the pool or beach while drinking, then that's not an issue. The restaurants were mostly underwhelming in their offerings except for the buffet style restaurants, El Patio and World Cafe which had a plethora of tasty options to choose from. Good experience overall but will likely not be coming back and will try other resorts if in the area again.

This was our first time to Jamaica but certainly not our last. Every single worker here is so nice, helpful, and polite. My wife and I had such a wonderful time. Jamaal is the best to say the least. He has answers when nobody else in the resort does and is a GREAT guy to boot! We will be back!!!
