Montego Bay is absolutely stunning! The resort is absolutely breathtaking!! The staff and locals were so welcoming and joyful! Also, very helpful! The rooms were clean! The food and drinks were made with love. I came here for my sister’s 21st birthday and they made her feel like a queen and made the trip very special for us! We will be coming back next year!

The food here was just WOW! WOW! I'm a New Yorker so I tend to find all inclusive food to be Meh but this was not the case at the Jewel Grande. The best thing though was the service. Best Service Ever. I didn't meet a single person that didn't do their best to make our stay enjoyable. They clearly put a lot of effort into their staffing and it makes all the difference. Other than that, the pools and beach are pristine, the rooms are large and comfortable and the location is right near the airport. What more can I say? This is a place I would definitely come back to.

Full disclosure, all inclusive travel is not my favorite way to travel, however there were 20 of us and many young adults so this was necessary. I never did an all inclusive until I went to Montego Bay a few years ago, and stayed right next door at the Hyatt. Not being a fan of all inclusive travel, I was pleasant surprised at the Hyatt. It was sprawling with lovely views. They had a lovely breakfast buffet with a beautiful LARGE outdoor patio. They had two nice restaurants that you could sit down and order lunch. Dinner restaurant options were above average. On the contrary, at The Grand Jewel, your lunch option was to order from the grill, which took forever, get the the jerk chicken that they had available every day, or the buffet. There was one very small area that you could sit and order food, but it was the same food as the grill. There was one small uncovered patio for breakfast. Food at the restaurants was mediocre at best, the best place to eat for dinner was Waves. We had confirmed reservations at Waves our last night, only to get there and find out they were closed. The resort is not beautiful nor sprawling. Rooms were lovely and clean and the people are very nice. Chantelle at the Cabanas was awesome. If all inclusive travel is your thing, you would probably give this three or four stars, and if Montego Jamaica all inclusive is your thing, stay next door at the Hyatt.

I am not one to do reviews unless I am extremely impressed! I just got back from a trip with four other girlfriends and 11 of our adult children (ages 15-26) for total group size of 16. We had the best time ever! Happiest and most friendly people I’ve ever met, food at every restaurant was amazing, especially the steakhouse and Italian restaurants! The drinks were great and the resort was one of the cleanest and safest and high quality resorts I’ve ever stayed at. The water had some seaweed, but they worked tirelessly to collect that every morning. I’m not one to want to revisit the same place, but I would definitely return to this resort! It was spectacular! And the entertainer, Delandro, was so much fun! We enjoyed his nightly activities including karaoke, and headphone dance night. Super duper experience! We wanted to cry when it came time to leave. I have 3 stars for location because there were no motorized activities allowed on that beach (jet ski, parasail, banana boat)

This resort was perfect! It was clean everywhere and the staff was so friendly! You never got the feeling that they were tip hungry! The amenities inside the room and outside on the resort were some of the best I have seen at any resort. The food was better than average resort food. I would DEFINITELY recommend and come back!

The staff of The Jewel are amazing. Every person went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. The unfortunate part is the lack of ability for quiet romance. We were there for a long overdue honeymoon but could not find a place outside of our room that was quiet enough to enjoy. We rented a private cabana, $100 a day, that really isn't private. The one next to us had 14 people in and around it and the one a few down had 10. Don't waste the money on that if you're interested in a quiet time. The restaurants were great, but again very loud. So depending on your expectations and definition of vacation it may or may not be for you. If you're looking to get drunk and party on the beach then it's a good choice. Peace and relaxation not so much.

Great service. They went above and beyond helping my grandparents get around and be able to hang out with the whole family. Quick to help with everything from ordering room service to asking for someone to pick up and drive my grandparents to where we need to be. All around great experience. Beautiful area and solid food. The only down side is the pool is cold so it’s nice to cool down in but not ideal to hang out in for extended periods. Loved it here. Highly recommend especially if you have people in your group that have trouble getting around!

Definitely not a 4.5 star resort. Overall was decent as a 3 star hotel and the major pro was the 2 bedroom rooms. Beach had garbage on it and we had to ask daily to have it cleaned. Food was pretty good but they constantly got the orders wrong. Elevator broke in 2 buildings while we stayed for 1 week, leaving guests 11 story walk ups. 2 bedroom was spacious but very noisy as the resort is very close to the highway. Would not return.

I would not rate this a 4 start or anything luxurious. Majority of the staff were nice, attentive and friendly. The food choices could be better, but you get what you pay for. Buildings A and B are old, they smell musty and just need a complete revamp. The new building, I believe the C building looks to be newly renovated and nice. If you could get a room there, I’m sure you’d consider this a 4* resort. If you get a good deal, go here, but I wouldn’t spend anything over $1500/pp for 5+ days- just not worth it

Lovely hotel, fantastic views, nicely sited on the island. Very family orientated with daily shows suitable for all. Good selection of foods mixed between local and international cuisine. I had a 3 bed ocean view suite, lovely but could do with some refurbishment, which I know they are currently carrying out throughout the complex. I have no hesitation in making my next stay to Jamaica to be at the Jewel Grand

This is my second time staying at the Jewel Grande. I had a wonderful stay. I had one issue with the room, it was handicap accessible so I had a difficult time taking a shower my first night. There were no doors to the shower or bathroom and it was a handheld shower head so water went everywhere. I spoke with Claudia at the front desk and she was able to move me to a new room the next day. From that point on my vacation was wonderful. Food was great, service great as well as the entertainment. The views from my room were beautiful. I plan on coming back again.

I came to Jewel for my anniversary and I LOVE IT HERE!!! 1. The food was top tier. Delicious, mouth watering and you can’t get enough. 2. The service from the waitstaff to the room attendants was second to none. Great attention to detail. Aston we thank you for making our experience worth every penny spent!! 3. The property was jaw dropping and BEAUTIFUL! The views were gorgeous I couldn’t get enough! Ensure that when you visit 🇯🇲 your accommodations are with Jewel Grande in Montego Bay! Amazing Memories The beach facing rooms are the best. Big shout out to Kevin the fitness instructor who made the boot camp fun and challenging. Also special mention to Tracey and Whitney for making stay of our little one special. Food can be improved for Asian pallet but each and everyone in the rest tried their level best to make our stay memorable. They have the best kids club😃

Everyone is extremely professional and made our experience absolutely lovely. Melicia at the front desk did a stellar job assisting us when our flight got canceled and we had to rebook an extra night. She made a very stressful situation easier. The grounds are well-kept and clean and you don’t have to wait on long lines for things. It’s a very relaxing spot. We will be returning.

Our stay at the Jewel Grande was great. We were upgraded due to our room not being ready, and it was a fantastic room, and definitely large enough for the few of us. The food and drinks were great value, with some great options for those who have dietary restrictions. The bar closes quite late, which is great, especially if you want to have a good time with other visitors. Despite that, it's a fairly quiet resort as well. The spa itself was also incredibly relaxing, with great service. Finally, the location was beautiful. Very well designed, the beach has decent signal and the bar at the beach is also a great touch. Highly recommend this place if you're visiting Montego Bay.

This place is breath taking. Just wonderful. We had the ocean side balcony side of the resort. From our balcony you could see a lot. They have all kinds of work out programs. My favorite was the water aerobics. The food was awesome. Bring laundry detergent because you have your own washer and dryer in your room

The resort is absolutely beautiful. Gorgeous views of the bay, very spacious, well manicured and maintained/cleaner, very polite staff with positive vibes (i think well trained definitely). Lots of entertainment (and not the raunchy types) and the food was delicious. Check in and checkbout were quick and seamless. We stayed at Jewel Grande (4* rated) and later on Secrets St James 5star rated) JG was by far the better resort. Keep up the great work and don't compromise on the quality guys.

Lovely resort on the coast close to the airport. Rooms were huge with high ceilings throughout the resort. 2 nice pools and good beach with kayaking, paddle board and catamaran's available. Brilliant kids club where the staff put on a range of activities. Good restaurants with friendly staff. The buffet had some stock choices available every day, but also some stations which changed daily to keep breakfast and lunch interesting. Didn't use the spa, so can't comment. Lots of steps getting from place to place, which was a concern initially but managed to find ways to avoid some, or could wait for a buggy to take the less able members of our party around.

Really good resort. Excellent food, excellent service. Rooms are slightly dated but clean. All the restaurants were fantastic. Beach was nice - they had staff cleaning up the brown seaweed on the beach so it was clean. Highly recommend this resort. 15 min drive from MBJ airport, the transfer service was reasonably priced and smooth.

If you want to go to Jamaica, this resort is hands down an A+. The location, on the beach at Montego Bay, puts you right there for amazing views. As someone who travels a decent amount for business, I've experienced a lot of different service levels. The service at this resort is second to none. All-inclusive, five-star 24-7 service. Good food all the time. Good drinks all the time. I really want to come back. Everyone was very attentive. You won't go wrong. They'll also help you plan great excursions off the property. The best vacation I've ever had.

I have never traveled internationally before, but feel like I have high expectations, especially around the food piece. There are plenty of options for everyone. Definitely some better than other, but service was fantastic! Constantly friendly and willing to help. The reviews of Chantel are all true...she was amazing. We loved our trip and our experience and would definitely revisit! One tip for excursions... Best Jamaica was best in price and having your own personal driver who knew the island and had many contacts at popular attractions was amazing. We can't say enough about Leroy who was an amazing personal guide throughout our trip... I would highly recommend best Jamaica and ask for Leroy!

Spent a week there and the vacation was wonderful. There are a few things that stop me from rating excellent. The facility was a bit dated, there were a few amenities that were closed (hot tub) for an extended repair, and the choices of food were ok, but not extensive. The food itself was average to a bit better than average, but certainly not bad. The best part of the resort was the people who worked there. They couldn't have been more accommodating. 5 stars plus in that area. The weather while we stayed here was perfect. 85 degrees and sunny with a slight breeze that kept you cool. The rooms were really big, and it seemed like the view was great from every room. My only warning is if you plan to use spa services, ask up front for pricing. My wife and kids didn't and while the service was good, the prices surprised them. Over 1000 dollars for three, 80 minute massages was in my opinion excessive. But since they agreed to go, it was our bad for not asking beforehand. Just letting other be aware. All in all, the place delivered what we came for, which was some relaxing days in the sun.

The hotel is lovely. We booked the three bedroom-ocean view suit. It has a huge balcony that's accessible from all rooms including the kitchen and living room. Live night time entertainment was also good. Only point for improvement: communication training for some staff. Other than that, it was a good family experience.

Just finished our 3rd trip to jewel grand. Never disappointed. Management and staff are second to none. Food was amazing. Spa is best we have ever been to. Via email was able to get upgrade to presidential sweet ( incredible view and well worth the money) and schedule couples spa appointment for when we arrived.. Will be back soon.

Great service is probably top of the list here as well as this being a beautiful resort. Food was decent most places. Favorite is the Italian restaurant and second would be the pool grill. The steakhouse was good but we are used to better quality steaks than what they serve. The Asian restaurant was also good and probably our second favorite dinner spot. The food at Waves was good but we were underwhelmed by the small entrees. The buffet is decent for breakfast and lunch. We never tried it for dinner. Drinks are a bit watered down but if you find your way to Gary at the lobby bar, he will set you up. Just tell him you want the I don’t know and he will make something good. The beach is nice and quiet although lots of weeds some days but the staff tried to clean it up daily. Just depends on what your priorities are. We wanted good food and service and not so concerned with drinks or if the beach is perfect so this resort was a good match for us. We would recommend this resort if you are looking for a quiet and relaxing vacation.

We had such an amazing experience here! I rarely write reviews but it was beautiful, staff was amazing (Kemon at the pool bar was so helpful, kind and made the experience even better), and the food was great. The wine is not great if you’re a wine drinker, but there are plenty of other choices. Waves and the Hibachi were the best food.

This was my children's first experience at an all inclusive resort. This was an unforgettable experience. This resort was super careful on ensuring wellness and health. The buffet was not open and the staff served you. I do wish that the menu had a little more variety. Staying for the entire week, you feel like you are eating the same foods daily. Don't think you are going to get even remotely tipsy on the drinks. Seemed quite watered down. However, the service was great, the facilities well taken care of, and the time away was much needed. Thank you to the staff for your services and for helping to create a memorable vacation. Don't forget all you reviewers to LIVE a little, SMILE alot, and ENJOY life by BEING NICE!!!

We went here over Christmas last year. The service was great. The rooms were old. The reason why I am giving this hotel a low rating is because of their cleaning staff. One of the days we noticed that the cleaning lady washed the floor and poured all of the dirty water into the kitchen sink with our baby’s bottles and dishes still in the sink. She did not seem to think it was a big deal. The resort apologized but it is scary to think that these practices are occurring at this hotel. We could have gotten very sick, especially our baby. So beware!

One of the best resorts I have visited so far. Great staff who knew how to serve the customer. beautiful people with high rate of expertise. We had a small issue and spoke with Sonric Hilton. We were surprised with his excellent communication and professional skill to promptly resolve the matter. The quality of food was one of the best experiences we have had. everywhere was super clean and enjoyable. Indeed all these good experiences originated from a great management model with a collection of golden people.

Celebrated my 63rd Birthday here and EVERYTHING was wonderful. Had an afternoon at the Spa and OMG...simply AMAZING!!! The food was Americanized but if you don't know TRUE JAMAICAN Cuisine, you couldn't tell. The Mutten was Awesome! Oxtail is my husband's favorite and he loved it! This is a MUST GO BACK!!!

  • 5/5 Dee J. 11 months ago on Google
First time booking at this resort. The staff are amazing. The food is good. My favorite was the oxtail and the jerk chicken fresh off the grill. The property is well kept all the way down to the beach where there is no seaweed. The guests rooms are very nice and spacious. My only complaint is that the beds are hard/firm. More convenient and cheaper to book transportation through the resort itself. Overall, had a great stay and would stay again.

Warning: Did travel toward the end of rainy season. As an avid traveler of all inclusive resorts unfortunately this location was not the best experience. Specifically with emergency hotel customer service processes. Room: Room was spacious and upgraded from the website photos. Layout and accessibility was ideal. Essentials however were lacking. Shower often was leaking throughout the day. Additionally room floors were soaking wet upon arrival, making it difficult to walk throughout the room. Service: Level of service was not ideal and inconsistent. A few power outages occurred throughout the stay. This in turn affected the elevators, where many guest (including myself) became stuck for sometime. Room key pad malfunctioned and was replaced after going back and forth to the front desk. Location: Location is great in regards to easy access to the airport. Also close to downtown Montego Bay Food rating: 2.3 stars. Breakfast was by far the best consistent meal of the day. Overall: 3 star hotel based on location, room and view. Was not very luxurious with the on going power outages, elevator malfunctions and water issues.

Well overall we had a great time despite some issues. The food is amazing at all restaurant and the buffet which we were thankful for. Make sure to make your reservations right from the start. Butler service is a joke. Do not spent the extra money for this service. We got more information from the entertainment staff than our butlers. The butlers did absolutely nothing for us and made excuses anytime we asked for things. It was so disappointing !!! Delando and Susie from entertainment are beyond amazing and we would love to see them again one day. They made our stay 100 times better! The place in general needs a lot of TLC. The beach is dirty and isn't cleaned by staff each day (bottles and plastic etc that washes up from water). Lots of dirty areas and leaks etc. and broken amenities like one of two hot tubs was out of service the entire 10 day stay.”- also, elevators are constantly out. It was not worth the amount of money we paid for Xmas and new years although the New Year’s party they put on was amazing. They also need to have more going on after 9pm. Every night we were there it was the same dj party in a conference room which got old quick. No one wants to do that 10 days in a row. They could use additional things for teens to do. There was nothing to do for them after 9. During the day there was really only beach volleyball and the non motorized sports are a joke as they make you stay in a tiny enclosed area. One major issue- it is a very inaccessible resort- stairs everywhere and limited golf cart service between buildings. So often we were unable to have someone drive my mom over to the next building due to limited service. There is no real option other than stairs so be prepared. Anyone needing help with getting around or strollers or wheelchairs, Good luck!! That was really disappointing. Our power went out twice because of the plant that supplies power to the building which was next door. Both times for over a couple hours. We just sat in the dark in our room. Hot water also went out and seemed like no one had explanations when we asked. We didn’t have hot water for over 8 hours one day. They said they do laundry offsite so when our room was cleaned we would not get clean towels till later on in the day which was odd. The rooms were originally built to be condos so there are full kitchens, however there is not so much as a utensil or dishcloth or anything in them. The rooms only get supplied with sprite, water and beer. So if you want to sit on your deck with anything else, too bad. When we asked for a bottle of wine for the fridge they said it would be an extra charge! Which is ridiculous (all inclusive) and you can bring multiple glasses of wine to the room from the bar if you want. That was so disappointing. This place is ok if you are on a budget and don’t mind dealing with issues but if you want actual luxury, stay at a Sandals/ Beaches resort!!

1st time here and all staff was very) accommodating and always happy to interact with us. Shoutout to Kerrol at the pool bar and young lady at steakhouse(hostess) who went above and beyond. We scheduled a private dinner on the beach but the rain was too heavy but the staff made quick changes and still let us enjoy our dinner inside a private location. Wish there was a few seats or benches along Beach walkway. Already planning a trip back to hang out with the great staff. Thank you for making g our stay enjoyable.

Here is my overview of this resort. FOOD-There were a good variety of restaurants available which provided great options for different palates. My family took advantage of the room service which was fast and pretty tasty. ROOM: We booked a 2 BR Suite with butler service. Our first room which was B301 was absolutely horrible. The space was not equipped to be rented: master bedroom, 2nd BA, smell, AC-ALL ISSUES. SERVICE: I appreciated our butlers especially Shanika. She was truly a gem to help us navigate our issues while on this property. The staff was awesome and willing to accommodate. ENTERTAINMENT: I loved having something to do while on the property. The night parties were good. All is all, I would likely explore another option upon visiting Montego Bay again because the room is important to me so I weigh this pretty heavily. I give this resort a 3.5 out of 5.

The staff were very attentive and helpful and they really couldn't be nicer. The facilities were fairly nice and for the most part, we enjoyed our stay but there were some big caveats: 1) The food is straight up not good. Outside of the jerk chicken served during lunch, I don't know that I enjoyed a single meal during our stay. If quality of food is important to you, look elsewhere. This is definitely a quantity over quality situation. 2) If you are traveling with toddlers or very young children, absolutely make sure that your room is not in the Sentry tower. Either the rooms need much better sound proofing or the hotel needs to make sure families with toddlers are not placed in the Sentry tower. The evening performances were so damn loud that it sounded like it was literally happening in our room. It basically made it impossible for us to put our kid to bed at a reasonable time. If it was just the lackluster quality of the food, it would have been one thing, but having to deal with the noise every night really put a damper on our stay.

  • 2/5 Teejay D. 9 months ago on Google
Food was great during main dining hrs. Some staff is very nice and accommodating. While others are very rude and nasty. Mostly the ones that seat you for dinner or take food orders at grill. The guy that grills the jerk chicken outside gets very rude if you ask him to cut a certain piece of chicken for you. He wants to cut you what he wants you to have. Waitstaff (that takes orders, brings food/drink) is spectacular!! Room service food is always cold! If it’s not a buffet, your food will be brought to you cold (unless you tell waitstaff that you don’t want it cold). Entertainment was great! Beach water is very nasty!

Everything was perfect! Delicious food, multiple cuisines, beautiful beach, punchy cocktails, (don't miss bob Marley cocktail) and such a warm and welcoming staff and clean room with fantastic views. We got a beach front 1 bedroom suite and we are a family of 4 with two kids under 8. We watched both sunrise and sunset from our balcony. Sea weed was present but we could find spots on the beach where we could easily avoid it; besides the resort does some clean up every morning. We will definitely be back sometime soon.

We went for 1 week with another family and it wasn't enough! Hotel is amazing! Great beach, great pools, great vibes! Service was superb. All the staff so friendly and always had a smile on their face. Entertainment each night was great. Rooms were clean and view was great. I travelled with my 1 year old and had no problems. The bbq on the beach was a highlight. Jerk chicken was delicious. Nothing bad to say just loved it.

Perfect hotel, perfect food. I love the food. I'm Jamaican and only eat Jamaican food while in Jamaica since this is what most Jamaicans miss about our country. The Curry goat and Oxtails were the best. My husband and I would venture out of the hotel every day for hours, we would eat out just to compare but the hotel Jamaican food is the best so far. We will be in September. We already booked our room. We stayed at the 2 bedroom butler suite ocean view and this time we will stay at 2 bedroom ocean view butler suite. If you are expecting to eat excellent American food in Jamaica, this might not be possible due to their seasonings and tradition. The Jerk chicken was good as well. The staff are so nice. I paid $400 for massage and manicure, which I thought was expensive. I should of asked about the price before agreeing. The drinks were weak for my husband but perfect for me. I did alot of tipping which I do not mind. I made sure to bring small bills. Great hotel, great people, great pools, and great food.

This was by far one of my favorite trips this far. I can't wait to visit the Jewel Grand again. I wish I could afford to go every year. I went for my 50th with my children and wish I had told them it was my daughter and my birthday. The entertainment was great, did coffee and waiters/ servers were for the most part amazing. Very helpful, quick to help and friendly. Although I felt the men were nicer and friendlier than the women to black Americans for some reason. A couple of times we had rude waiters when going to eat that's the only reason I gave a 4 star. Also, the room was very nice except sink flooded, terrible with blinds, no dishes in kitchen, no sheets for pull out bed in room and first night couldn't get anyone for service daughter slept on bed with nothing. The location was nice not far from airport. Only wish the had a shuttle that would pick you up.

Beautiful oceanfront views. Our room was upgraded to the one bedroom suite. While some elements of the room were dated, it was nice, clean, and comfortable. The restaurants were good. I enjoyed the Orchid and jerk hut the most. Went during the week so plenty of covered seats on the beach. Good drinks. Don't be afraid to ask for a rum float in your drinks! I have to mimic other reviews that commended the service. From Ashe at the front desk, Conrad in bell services, Silver at the jerk hut and Susan at the Orchid... all bartenders. All excellent and so kind. Appreciated the service and attention. Would highly recommend.

Good hotel but the balcony doors aren't sealed and there is a howling noise that can make sleeping really hard if the wind is blowing. But everything else was pretty good. The steakhouse is my favorite part. And I don't know if it's all Jamaicans are like this but the staff we got the chance to speak to were hilarious. Like stand up comedian hilarious and nice. I really enjoyed it.

It was an okay experience and sadly we won't be returning because of our front-desk interaction. The view is breathtaking, the room is big and food was good, especially Waze, the steakhouse, and the dinner special on the beach. Hibachi was not impressive, although the chef was nice and entertaining. Our least favorable experience was with the check-in process. It took more than one hour and the front desk person (Carlos) was unfriendly. I signed up for their upgrade standby offer, and although initially, it seemed that they had rooms available, as soon as Carlos found out I had this offer which would have allowed me to get a better room at a much cheaper price, the available room disappeared from their system. On the last day, I called to request a later check out (11:30 vs. 11) as our airport pickup was at @11:30, unfortunately, it was Carlos again and he very quickly declined the request. I had to go downstairs to do something else and spoke to another front deck agent (Mona?), and she didn't even hesitate to allow the extra half an hour.

My family and I visited the Jewel Grande and has the best time! The beach was beautiful, the rooms were clean modern and exactly like the photos, the property is beautiful and well kept. The food was delicious and having the cafe there for coffees and pastries was fantastic. Most of all the people made the trip memorable. Big shout out to Winston, Silver, Orlando, Curtis, and Chef Currie for making our trip that much more special.
