100% RECOMMEND Love this restaurant… the service, the environment, the food, the experience feels motherly and it’s impeccable. They do walk-in and reservations and they do treat both well. They make you aware of the ingredients in all food available and provide suggestions or even offer to make you something from scratch if you are allergic to any ingredient(s). The food is ALWAYS great and the prices are exceptional. ****UPDATE MONTHS LATER**** So I had to change my 5 stars rating. I’ve been so patient. The food is still Authentic and great, Can not beat that. However, the service has gotten extremely poor and it just keeps getting worst. My last 4 attempts to get some food as a frequent customer has been such terrible experiences. I keep introducing people to the place and wanting them to try the food but it’s just always an issue with the restaurant to get the food. The delivery service is very poor, it’s slow (1 hr - 1 1/2 atleast just to intown) and the delivers are totally dishonest which makes it even more irritating. They advise you order to pick up if you wish as well but when u do, the delivery person has your food(YOU NEVER GET IT). The person doing social media orders misinforming the restaurant. When you go in for dining these days the “sweet lady” is no longer as calm and gentle… She seem always flustered and just bustling about . You will sit and wait…. Wait… WAIT… to be served. Persons are always just standing around WAITING for their pick up orders and the space is just not big enough for all these activities. She’s always flustered and the man is always shouting it’s just lack of coordination which makes the space not comfy anymore. They are no longer new and I just really think at this point they need to hire some help, would hate to see them go because the food is really good. Genuinely hope they improve.

We visited this restaurant with no preconceived notions. The important thing is that we wanted a taste of our home food. As soon as my family and I came in we saw a group of Africans and after a few minutes we realized they were Nigerians and were visiting from UK & Canada. Between making new friends and enjoying our delicious meals, we felt at home and enjoyed our experience. The staff consisted of a Nigerian owner, a South African hostess/waitress and a Jamaican chef. We totally had a great time. I’ve posted on my social media and many people have been asking for details so expect a lot more new patrons soon. We’ll definitely be back. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

It’s the fact that Happiness remembers your name and addresses you as such whenever you call to make an order. I went for the experience and I fell in love with the ambiance and the Afrocentric vibes that I was presented to. Let’s talk about the food especially the Okro soup that I ordered it was to die for. My breath stopped literally after I tasted it. The shrimp and lobster was sooo juicy and the soup was rich. Typing now and my mouth is running water. See you soon 9jajam

My favorite restaurant in Jamaica, right off the airport you have to stop by and enjoy authentic African / Jamaican cuisine. The food is the best in Jamaica we had it in the beginning and end of our trip and wow we are going to miss this place.The owner is the sweetest and very wise and great to talk to. Well up until today I was full blown Jamaican but after I tasted these beautiful meals , I’m thinking twice I was looking for something different and this African restaurant 9JAJAM delivered all the spices and flavors to blow my mind now I’m forever stuck on African soup and fufu Plus I did eat with my hands🫣♥️ Most of all customer service was awesome and the environment is so warm I felt at home . Definitely recommending everyone who wants something new and I will forever be a customer 👍🫡

Walk in and it took over 15 minutes to be attended to! The lady taking the order was poorly dressed and ill mannered! Then after waiting for the food for 1 full hour the order was wrong! I would never go back nor will I recommend! Wanted to dine but the service was so poor we had to take out!!! They don't give receipts so you will not see what u pay for! I asked to speak to a manager and the CSR just sat behind the counter and started Eating and looking at me!!! ABSOLUTE WORST!!!!!

I dined here with my friend. I had the crispy yam chips and wings and my friend had the eforiro soup and poundo yam. We absolutely loved the food. I finished my food in record time. The service was warm and friendly, which is really nice. Ten out of ten. Would definitely visit again.

The food was great, portions were generous, and pricing was right. Great customer service from Happiness and Collins, too. Yea, we had to wait a little for the food, but if you're familiar with the culture, it takes a while to prep and make the food since you'll be getting fresh authentic naija food and not frozen trash. From my experience here so far, late delivery is likely due to traffic and aforementioned prepping, so place your orders well in advance. Coming from nij and htown, this exceeded my expectations! (Attached is a photo of the food, designer rice, and stew plated at home) The soursop smoothie/drink was good too. We got other food not pictured here.

We drove all the way from kingston for this and we weren't disappointed. We tried a variety of foods and all had a good flavor. We were pleased and full..lol the cassava fufu wasn't my favorite but the owners were kind enough to switch it to the wheat fufu which was indeed better. We did get a little lesson saying that the first time when you are trying fufu the yam one is best...but unfortunately they were out that day. All in all a very good food option.

First impression lasts, but my boyfriend is an AfoBeats lover, and so he trends the culture. We work in Montego Bay and after hearing about this Restaurant we had to find it. One day he was like babe, I'm taking you for lunch. The disadvantage at first was that the wait is FOREVER!!! So we left. I encouraged him to try again the next day, in which we did. Still a FOREVER wait, but it was worth it. He got the Chilled chicken with jolloprice, i got the BBQ jolloprice.. I'm not a foodie, but from the moment i emptied that plate, you should know it was phenomenal. It's now our GO TO LUNCH SPOT, 🤗💞

Well I can't physically go to Africa yet so until them am elated to have found an African restaurant a stone throw down the street from me. I have been exposed to Ghanaian and Nigerian cuisine and I looooove it! I have had the jollof rice/baked chicken, efiriro soup/powdered yam/eba and coconut rice along with the Soursop and cucumber juice and let me tell you it makes me wanna slap ma mama. The ambiance is inviting and the service is top notch. Overall excellent experience every time.

Very authentic delicious African food. Try them for all African food you will not be disappointed. While we were there all the customers were raving about their meals. We took our meals back to our hotel and devoured it.

A taste of Africa in Mobay! The food was delicious and very filling. I had the Eforiro soup with poundo yam and my husband had the Jollof rice and stew chicken. The ambiance is great and the owner Suzan is a sweetheart we enjoyed talking to her and learning about her culture. We will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu :)

It is my first time trying any type of African cuisine and I am not disappointed, I had the eforiro soup with fufu as well as joloff rice with stew chicken it was so good and tore that food up. Highly recommend 10 out of 10

The vegetarian fried rice place was really delicious and a great price!! The meat substitute was very tasty and unlike any other I've tried. highly recommend!

This is the best Restaurant that I have every ordered from I have tried almost everything on there menu and I never disappointed from the lovely meals to there warm and friendly customer service, I am now a big fan and devoted fan of there cooking and would definitely encourage everyone to give them a try you will not be disappointed 😀 😊.

I absolutely love this place. Susan is so accommodating and is always willing to give history lessons! My favorite is the Efo Riro Soup. So delicious. Grilled chicken was seasoned to the bone. Just perfect.
