Cruise ship terminal is only fit for purpose. Not much going on there. Inside there are no shops. There are small craft shops outside, but severely overpriced. So it is really just made for transit between a bus and cruise ship. Word of advice, do not pick up a taxi inside the port area. They charge ridiculous prices. They wanted US$ 40 to go into town. We spoke to a local and he said everything more that US$ 1 is too much. Obviously, as tourists you'll never get those prices, but we got into town for US$ 10 for four people. Yes once outside the freeport, be prepared to negotiate and walk away from an offer if necessary. There are plenty of drivers who want business and will give you a good price. Another word of advice, coming back to the terminal from the city is usually cheaper than from the terminal to the city. The information stand is useless. Don't even bother, they are very unhelpful and quote you very high prices, even for tourists.

The terminal seemed to be secure, clean, orderly, safe and centrally located to serve the township of Montego Bay and environs to include the various attractions that is on offer to our visitors and locals alike. We welcome each and every crew ship passenger to our beautiful shores of this blessed country named Jamaica, which I call home. Ja, naah leff yah!!

Its quite a negative experience whenever you go to do clearance of barrels or other goods at this wharf, its confusing and can drive one up the wall, and it's too expensive for clearance of goods if it is not food or clothing, for example, one little old fridge and you have to pay much more than what you bought it for

This place is not to visit because you would not be able to go inside, you need a pass. THE terminal is where the cruise ship comes in ,I did some work there (German Tour guide) on the ship that came in. To visit I would not recommend unless you want to have a look at the ships from outside.

Hated the cruise ship terminal. 1. Old and needs to be remodeled. 2. Not enough shaded coverage from the sun. The tour vendors are unorganized and oeile stand storms in the heat. 3. Way to far away from Downtown. If you don't take a tour you have to pay for a taxi. Traffic is horrible. 4. Public restroom 🚻 need to be remodeled. 5. signs need to be better visible. 6.the vendors that rent space so people will buy something, they know all these passengers could not go downtown an shop due to their tours. The prices increase 2/3. When I told the lady I was a former crew member and that they a ripping people off, their prices went down 2/3. There has to be much improvement before I ever return to Montego bay. Take a cruise that goes to Ocho Rios. Much nicer.

Good buoyage for the port entrance. Pier height above Chart Datum 2.7 meters which is very good for most of Cruise Ships. Good fenders. Few small beaches on walking distance but better grab a shuttle bus. Careful with taxi. Always go in groups. Beautiful landscape, sea crystal clear.
