Los Angeles, Oct 28: I have been a loyal and happy customer for two years with an unlimited monthly membership ($225). I have taken 440 classes as of today. Pilates is my life. I love my teachers and my classes. It’s within walking distance from my place. Two days ago, Avenir LA Silverlake emailed me to inform me that they were terminating my membership for not adhering to their studio policies, which include unfounded false accusations such as interrupting teachers during class (which has never happened), being disrespectful to staff, teachers, and clients (which has never happened), and being late (admittedly, it has occurred a few times, but always within their 5-minute maximum late policy). The only issue I raised, which seems to have upset them, was my complaint about and request for a refund for their regular erroneous charges of a $20 fee for missing classes, even though I attended them. Despite their decision to terminate my membership, I was charged again yesterday. They have just informed me that they initiated a refund. I have never received any warnings about these “problems”. This is not fair, and I am very shocked and saddened. Hopefully, this is a mistake, and I will be able to resume my classes soon. I am still waiting for a call from the studio manager to discuss this. If It doesn’t happen, I won’t have any choice but to file a consumer claim in the Los Angeles court. It’s not a pleasure to have to write a review and file a claim. Thanks to my previous pilates studios, as well as my instructors and classmates, for their support. November 28 - Update: unfortunately, I still haven’t been contacted by the studio manager. My emails have been ignored. They recently blocked me on Instagram (I never posted anything there as the platforms for reviews are only Google, Yelp and Facebook). I filed a consumer claim through the Better Business Bureau on November 1 in order to resolve this. Still no answer. If still no answer from them following this claim, I will file a lawsuit in small claims court 🤞🏻🙏🏼

Tried two different classes and loved both. They were equally challenging and left me feeling both boosted in my fitness level and mood. I love how quickly you feel results. The staff is really friendly and the instructors are very good. I didn’t feel overwhelmed by the pace or the directions given which can happen in a new studio or class. I loved that they give proper modifications too. The music and lighting is great and location is so easy! I’ll be back!

I’ve had a really great experience with Avenir! The staff and instructors are friendly and knowledgeable, and the facilities are great! Class sizes are large enough to get good group momentum, but small enough to receive individual support and corrections from instructors (which I’ve experienced and seen happen for others in every class). I never worked out regularly before I began taking classes at the studio, and it’s the first time I’ve truly enjoyed the experience and am eager to return class after class. There are also a number of packages and pricing options to fit different needs. Great place all around!

Such a great studio! The instructors are each different but amazing and everyone is very friendly. I've been going to the studio for almost a year now and I am so happy I discovered it. Tina is my go-to instructor but every instructor I've tried, I like. I always feel like I got a great workout.

Avenir-LA is the BEST! After years of rarely exercising, after finding this studio I am a CONVERT! All the classes are great, and the teachers are super helpful and encouraging and talented. The studio itself is safe and clean and well maintained. I love the lighting and music too! The whole experience of working out here is inviting and empowering.

Avenir is amazing!! I’ve been going there for 2 years already! Beautiful studio and very knowledgable and considerate instructors, I love all of them, every class is unique!! One of the best pilates workouts I have ever had. My body changed, I’m stronger, healthier, happier. Highly recommend.

I love Avenir! It’s a great workout and a beautiful, clean studio. My favorite instructors are Allie, Kara, and Emily - but honestly everyone is great I’ve never had a bad class. If you’ve never done reformer classes don’t be intimidated - I was a newbie too! I started out going to Body Tonic classes then eventually started Power Flow 1-2, and then Power Flow 2! It’s addicting! You’ll feel stronger, taller, and just better in your body. The instructors are great about structuring the classes and being super clear about transitions and what to do on the machine. The Pilates hype is real!!

I love Avenir! I've been coming to classes for three years now and love the sense of community, as well as the instructors. They're all super friendly and will help you get your form right while also making you feel good about your movement. I definitely recommend it to anyone that might be looking for a pilates studio.

Hands down best pilates studio in LA!! Great teachers !! (shout out to Austin, Allie, Alisha..honestly they're all wonderful!) Really clean studio and reformers, really welcoming, not intimidating at all! Beginner friendly. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!

Avenir is the best Pilates studio in LA. I first started coming right after they opened and it’s been amazing to see them grow. The instructors are encouraging but challenging and I always feel better leaving than when I came in!

Avenir is hands down the best studio I’ve been to in LA! My Pilates journey has been so improved by finding this studio and the community that comes along with it. The classes are challenging and engaging and the instructors are next level. I appreciate the variety of classes, from levels as well as the blend of traditional Pilates with contemporary forms of exercise. The knowledgeable and attentive instructors makes Avenir stand out. I’ve been coming to this studio for nearly 4 years! The vibes are incredible and it’s an excellent work out. The mood lighting does a great job when completing certain classes. I also love every single playlist that the instructors have. Classes can be HARD but they are always amazing and I finally have abs which is solely attributable to everyone who works there. I also finally committed to j lik it’s and it is so worth it.

This is the best pilates studio I’ve been to in LA. The instructors are great and provide feedback on form. They offer a wide variety of classes - not just intro level! Wish I still lived on this side of town- I’d be going every day!

I have never signed up to a gym or any workout class before. I only do my exercises at home but I wanted a change, something that will push me and something I will stay consistent with. I went on an intro class one time and instantly fell in love that I got an unlimited membership right away and I have been attending a class everyday since then. The trainers and everyone who works there are all amazing and super nice. I really love how the facility is very clean, smells nice, and not crowded. The trainers are always very encouraging and helpful. They help you out with adjustments and it really feels like it makes a big difference even with small adjustments. Highly recommended!

I love Avenir so much! The best Pilates studio I’ve found in LA and I’ve tried so many. I love the teachers, the music and the sense of community. Plus the studio is super clean and updated.

Avenir is a gem! The space is simple and chic. Every teacher has their own approach and flavor, but all cohesive enough so it’s reliable. Despite all the street and mechanic shop noises the music volume keeps your focused and present, it’s the perfect volume. I’m seeing results I wasn’t expecting and loving it. So lucky to have found Avenir!

I love this studio! I found it back in November through class pass and immediately signed up for their unlimited membership! I’ve been attending at least 5 classes a week since and I have nothing but great things to say about them! All of their teachers are amazinggggg and the variety of classes and times is so convenient! The studio is always clean and it’s started to feel like my home away from home! I look forward to my classes everyday!
