i really don't understand the raving reviews. my husband and i were looking for a new dentist and decided to go with parklane since it seemed like everyone loves them and has nothing but positive experiences here. on the day of the appointment, we had to cancel my husband's last minute due to a work emergency and the front desk mentioned that there would be a $50 cancellation fee. how are you going to charge a first time patient a $50 cancellation fee if 1. they've never been there and 2. the least you could do is waive it given that it's a first time visit ??? i went along with my appointment as scheduled but didn't find the staff or facility outstanding like everyone seems to say. if anything, it just gave off "we're the most modern dental practice in the area so we can charge outrageous prices for the services" vibes. when my husband went to the arcadia location for his rescheduled appointment, he left with the dentist stating that he had two cavities and four wisdom teeth that had to be removed. out of pocket, the lady that helped him with his consultation said it would be ~$400 out of pocket just to take care the cavities. mind you, we have premium insurance that's purchased through an employer so it didn't make sense why it would cost so much. after the consultation, instead of allowing him to wait in the lobby, they kicked him out into the parking lot. because we didn't feel comfortable with the interactions at parklane, i decided to look for another dental practice. of course, given that parklane has my husband's x-rays, a hipaa consent form needed to be filled out before anything was released to the new dentist we were going to. i had faxed the form TWICE just in case it didn't go through the first time for whatever reason - i even called the office and the lady that picked up the phone said it was received and that they've already forwarded my husband's x-rays over to our new dentist. on the day of the appointment at our new dentist, the receptionist asked if we happened to have any of our dental x-rays. i told her i didn't as i was pregnant at the time, but my husband's was already sent over. she spent 15 minutes scouring the system and ends up telling me that nothing was received on their end. i get on the phone and contact parklane - this lady with the rudest attitude picks up and i tell her about the situation. she proceeds to put me on hold for 10 minutes and ends up hanging up. i call back and the same voice was on the line, it was the same lady that hung up on me. i told her that we just spoke and i was waiting on the x-rays, she claims that i was speaking to someone else. she mentioned her name both times i called, but whatever. she made us wait over an hour before the x-rays were finally sent and even when they were received, it was so pixelated it was as if they were taken in 1950. after completing new x-rays at our new dentist, it turned out that my husband DID NOT have two cavities as parklane dental had mentioned. it just showed us how shady and money hungry they are - they make up false health issues just to pocket more money even though their dental procedures are already marked up steeply. also, beware - it seems like they bribe clients with some sort of promotion/discount in exchange for 5 star reviews.

It is difficult for me to express my disappointment in words. Let me begin by how far in advance I booked my appointment: SIX WEEKS in advance let me continue with how far I traveled to this appointment: 350 miles by air, 15 miles by car I found Parklane Dental - Temple City on Instagram, promoting themselves as a Sanrio licensed and themed dental office “The first dental office in the USA featuring Hello Kitty and Gudetama!” when I called to book my appointment for a new patient exam and a cleaning, SIX WEEKS AGO, I requested the Hello Kitty exam room as seen on Instagram. I was called with reminders of my appointment a total of 4 times, emailed 3 times, and text messaged twice. with all these reminders from them and confirmations from me, you’ll never in a million years guess what happened when I arrived to my appointment in time and just as excited as can be… I was escorted to a plain exam room. no Sanrio anything anywhere in sight. I was devastated. I would have rather had my exam in the waiting room (which I waited in for almost half an hour with no complaints) so in my plain exam room the assistant took X-rays then said she’d walk me over to the Hello Kitty room for the exam. After the x-rays I waited for another half hour watching the food network. the assistant said there was another patient finishing up in my room so there’d be a delay… another 20 minutes, this time watching my x-rays on the screen. fun! 🥴 the dentist came in the explain my x-rays and do my new patient exam. he was thorough and professional, but he was just telling me everything that I already knew (I have a dentist at home) lol being absolutely honest, as I was when I phoned in for the appointment over a month in advance, I was just here to get examined and cleaned in the Hello Kitty room. They didn’t accept my insurance and I knew that. I was planned to pay the whole amount due out of my pocket….because I wanted to experience a dental exam in the Hello Kitty room. I was very very clear and the appointment person understood that very well. She had written it in the notes and highlighted it. not sure where things went wrong but wrong they surely went! when the exam was over and the dentist ok’d the cleaning, which was to be done next by the oral hygienists, the front desk lady came in with the second blow… it was now almost 1pm and the hygienists were going to lunch. the cleaning, which would be an additional $100, would have to be delayed until 2:30pm I couldn’t swing that, not even if I actually wanted to. truth be told $150 down the drain, I was just ready to grab my Hello Kitty swag bag and leave. THIRD BLOW I DID NOT GET A SWAG BAG. Maria from the front truly felt bad for me. I could feel her empathy and it was a slight dose of warmth for my broken heart. they ran out of the canvas totes and did not have not have any of the other goodies they showed off on Instagram. I got the generic crest sponsored bag that every dental office gives, along with a Hello Kitty lip balm and 2 Hello Kitty stickers. what an absolute bummer. let me just say that as usual, everything you see on Instagram should be taken with a grain of salt, including how this dental office promotes themselves. what you see is NOT what you’ll get.

From requesting an appt through their website to the first call I received to schedule my initial visit, the team at Parklane Dental have been excellent! I flew down last Friday for my first visit from the SF Bay Area! I had been following them on Instagram and had to become a patient at the first Sanrio friends dental office! The office is immaculately clean, when you walk through the front doors youre greeted with a smile from all of the front office staff. I had Elizabeth as my RDA and she brought me back to the Hello Kitty room and took my X-rays prior to Dr. To coming in for my exam. She was very gentle and nice to chat with in between each X-ray. When Dr. To came in for my exam, he had each X-ray up on the tv screen and examined each one and thoroughly explained any areas of concern. He has excellent bedside manner and makes you feel comfortable if you have any additional questions or concerns. My hygienist I had was, Cashel. She was so awesome! She was so gentle and thorough! She took images of areas she wanted to show me prior to doing the cleaning. My teeth felt amazing after I left and she was so fun to talk with! Looking forward to my next cleaning in October! The next day they left me a voicemail to follow up if I had any questions or concerns. They really care about their patients and are not only professional but friendly also! They really have an amazing team at this office and I can’t recommend them enough! They are worth the flight down to SoCal!

Had another great visit to the dentist. It was a check up on previous work and once again Dr. To was thorough and professional and I felt well taken care of. The staff were friendly and the office is clean!

I loved how this place is Sanrio themed!They were very gentle and nice to me.

I normally get very bad anxiety when going to the dentist but I felt very safe while at Parklane Dental in Temple City. They checked in on me throughout the procedure to see if I felt safe and they even called me the next day after I got some fillings to see how I was doing. I feel really grateful to have good memories of the dentist now.

If you are a big Hello Kitty or Sanrio fan this is place you really need your teeth cleaned at. Facility is huge and staff are extremely proactive. I had a full x-ray and cleaning during the grand opening. Amazing experience. Special thanks to Christy, Dr Tou, and Nana ( hope I spelling your name correctly). There is back lobby area for parents and kids which is fully decked out. Check it out!
