Prolly the best Tonkotsu Ramen 🍜 I've had in the longest time. The service was excellent, however, if you order main dishes and entrees, they'll come to the table as they are made. There's a good selection of beers, including a few from young Henrys, the Newtown local brewery. Make sure you call beforehand for a reservation, the place is quite popular and usually full.

Came here for a friends birthday dinner on the weekend. Firstly, service is amazing! So attentive and friendly. We appreciated it a lot 😇 Food wise… We got a lot of tapas/entrees and also mains. Most of the entrees were good the only let down was the yuzu popcorn shrimp. Soggy af and took so long to come out. Miso was also really bland. However, the sashimi and other tapas were fresh, fishy and delectable. We really enjoyed the wasabi octopus 🐙 Everyone liked their mains of ramen, curry and also the don. And many vegan options available as we had a vegan friend with us. This place is pretty affordable as well and the vibe is cosy and sleek. Definitely returning but not for the popcorn shrimp 😂 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ 4.5/6 for more cheap eats! head to ig > @hangryhawlz

Turned up Saturday evening to get a seat and the place was booked out (so recommend booking ahead unlike us) but fortunately they squeezed us in on the bar table, place soon filled out and had a great atmosphere without being too loud. Absolutely delicious meals, it's easy to see why this place keeps coming up recommended on Sydneys Ramen Appreciation Society my partner's a member of on Facebook. Rich, thick broth, generous serving of flavorful meat, even the sides were great, very happy mouths and full belly's all round, will be back!

Fun scallop ramen, and tasted super rich. I really liked their sides and dessert - they do warabimochi which is so rare, although the coating was less powder and seemed more like sesame paste/chunky which I prefer. We got hot green tea which I would have expected to be more than a tea bag.

A delicious Japanese joint just off King Street. Stumbled upon this place after a hankering for ramen, and it was absolutely delicious. Feels like you’ve landed at a restaurant in Tokyo, with iPads to order food, booths and the staff greeting you with ‘irasshaimase’ on entry! Highly recommend the agedashi eggplant and veggie ramen - both packed full of flavour and reasonably priced. Will definitely be coming back soon.

Had Hokkaido scallop tonkotsu miso butter ramen and it didn’t disappoint! The broth’s flavorful and rich in a way where I just couldn’t get enough of it. It just made the pork and scallop taste so much better. The seared kingfish nigiri was alright. However, I felt being left out and unwelcoming as the waitress whom I assumed the one that managed the booking just left me standing there and walked away after acknowledging my presence, which’s pretty rude to me until I stopped the other waitress to ask if I could take any empty seats in front of me, and she had to check with that waitress that walked away. Not sure if I’d come back again on a busy weekend as the staff seemed didn’t know how to manage the seating properly.

Very tasty food. We particularly like Japanese food and will sometimes casually walk into one for bento, sushi and sashimi. Highly recommend this place for yummy food, casual vibe, and fancy bowls and plates that usually only fine dining places use. That really pushes the experience to the next level. Did not order what other reviewer recommend but I truly loved every dish we had. Been here twice and pretty much h order the same dishes again. Say no more and plz check out the photos. Oh, please make a booking.

My partner and I went on a Monday evening without a booking and got a seat at the counter. We ordered through the QR code (which I hate). I got a Calafe of Suishin sake and my missus got the Lychee Sake cocktail. I asked what kind of Sake Suishin was and the staff didn’t seem to know, I would have liked a bit more knowledge here. We ordered Agedashi Tofu and Nori Tacos before we ordered the Vegan Tonkotsu ramen. The Ramen was very delicious and hit the spot! Had this amazing flavour that tasted very nostalgic to me. I wasn’t a fan of the bowl it was in but the missus liked it. Also the toilets were hard to find and I had to ask a staff member where they were. Overall we had a good time and would probably come back.

There are a few vegan options. The ramen soup is rich and creamy. The strawberry sparkling is like the strawberry blended with sparkling water and a edible beautiful flower. VERY Fresh!

Birthday dinner with my friend. We had high expectations on the ramen, so disappointed with the quality. Many other places with much better ramen. Is not the worst, but I prefer other ramen place. The Yuzu Sake was not cold, I love my cold Yuzu sake but when it’s not served the right cold temperature, is just not nice to drink. Overall, was pretty disappointed.

A nice restaurant upstairs. My friend booked a table and we got a booth with a window, and we could see the street below. My vegan friend had quite a few options to choose from. However, I got a Chicken Katsu Don. We both enjoyed our meals.

Both the “classic” Tonkotsu and shoyu (soy) Tonkotsu ramen were rich and favour full. Providing a diverse range of flavours in every mouthful. The sushi Tarco was an new flavour that just worked so well together. Not authentic although lived up to Japanese standards with an Australian twist. The Funky dinning experience filled the room with joy adding to the beautiful colours and decorations that fit the restaurant perfectly. Great date night location for anyone looking for a funky delicious dinner.
