In 1770 James Cook landed on Botany Bay and discovered Australia. There is a fine historical museum here which tells the story of his expedition.ot a large national park, compared to others, there are some nice walks to do, as well as walking along the Rocks and little beaches. There are some nice picnic spots as well as toilets and car parking. A really nice spot for a stroll with nearly 250 years of modern history.Good place for a short walk. Lots of information around to read and learn more history about the place. Free parking nearby.

It may be a small national park, but there are spectacular views out along the cliffs to the Pacific Ocean. Whales can be spotted off the coast during the migration seasons. Water pools on top of the sandstone cliffs after rain and you can hear the frogs sing. The coastal shrub is somewhat bleak, but there are wildflowers and interesting flora to be seen. It's a good place to get away from suburbia.

Been coming here since I was a child, my happe place! Spectacular views and great place to fish, walk around or snorkel/scuba dive. There are public toilets and plenty of parking. It does get very busy on the weekends so plan to go early. A few eateries around to eat to or plenty of space for a picnic on the grass too

La Parouse and the Kamay National Park are a great place to visit. The integration with the golf course created extra interest. However the point in itself is definitely worth the visit with lots of terrific photo opportunities. Take care around the fragile sandstone edges though. Children will need to be supervised in the rocky areas. Fisherman need to keep an eye on tides and the swell conditions. Never turn your back to the sea

I beautiful little spot to visit. I really enjoyed my time here. Thereโ€™s good amenities like toilets and good parking. You can bring your own food and eat here as thereโ€™s tables and chairs. A great spot to bring your family. Would definitely recommend. I really like the whale figurine. The walk along the water was beautiful and views are stunning.

It's a great park with plenty of grass areas available for any sort of activity, mostly to relax and to eat. There are a few spots for cooking BBQ, so great for that too. The view is looking into the vast open ocean, plenty of walks paths available too! Parking is easy since there are plenty of spots, parking is $8 for whole day if you don't already have the national park pass.

The Cape Baily track hike is an easy, flat walking trail that follows the shoreline. Amazing views and a bit of a hidden gem as it's not as busy as other walks. Large picnic areas also.

It's a very beautiful park to visit, not too far from Sydney 30-45minute drive. Nice trails to walk, nice picnic area near the visitor center with benches and BBQ areas. Heaps of parking . Whale watching spots at the end of the park during the whale watching season. The entrance fee for a day is $8 per vehicle. Please note that the parking area at the end of the park near the cliffs and whale watching platform is not accessible due to major road repairs. (October 2022)You will have to walk from the midway point. You can easily spend the whole day here. The walking trails are easy to moderate in most parts.Bring along suitable walking shoes if you're planning to have a hike. If you're just sightseeing, then you're advised to stay near the parking areas and on the paved pathways in the picnic areas .During busy periods like public holidays or weekends during whale watching season, there can be ice cream trucks or coffe vans in the parking areas; otherwise, you're would be advised to bring your own food and water. The visitor center near the entrance has a water bubbler in case you're desperate. This is a very nice park to visit ,definitely worth visiting .

I โค๏ธ this place! Itโ€™s hard to get to this spot by bus or train however it is doable! We drove up to the National Park, FYI โ€” you will need to pay to enter the area. This National park is Absolutely amazing! So serene & peaceful โค๏ธ The views are breathtaking!! A perfect spot for walking, running, cycling, or even to have a picnic!! But donโ€™t swim! Looks a little dangerous. There are also toilets, but you will need to find it as it is far away from the main area!! And you might need to bring your own tissue papers and hand sanitisers hahaha.

This review by GCphotovideo on FB. . Kamay National Park is located adjacent to the NSW Golf club at historic Botany Bay, Sydney. This geographic area (Kurnell is on the other side of the bay) is where native Australians made first contact with French and British Europeans. Both National parks at Kurnell & Kamay are open for visitors. The LaPerouse area at Bear Island is filled with visitors and wedding couple photography sessions almost every day of the year. If the weather is good, be prepared for huge crowds, and huge delays getting in & out. Parking facilities are very limited at La Perouse. The national park itself is a stunning nature reserve flanked by the Tasman sea. You will sea beautiful birds, golf buggies, and dangerous snakes here as you traverse the walking tracks. The fort at Bear Island is where Mission Impossible 2 was filmed. Cafe's and restaurants at La Perouse are very busy, and very expensive !!

It's a very good spot for a short hike. If you are lucky, you might spot some whales, dolphins, or seals from the lookout point or from the cliff. Best time to visit is early morning to enjoy the light on the sides of the cliff.

Such a beautiful place to visit on the weekends. Quite secluded on the weekends - such a hidden gem! I think it'll get a lot more packed in the coming June-Oct seasons due to the whale watching but it was lovely strolling by the bay and enjoying the sunshine. Will come back to check out the caves some time! โ˜€๏ธ๐ŸŒ„๐ŸŒ… There are a few cafes around the area (within 15min walk) but would definitely recommend calling them first to confirm they are open. One of the cafes closed an hour in advance so we were a little disappointed.

Great walk up to the lighthouse. Be prepared by bringing water and wearing comfy shoes as it can be a little rocky as the paved walkways starts and stops. Would be mindful bringing young children as there aren't any barriers and many steep cliffs however it's a very wide open area.

Great place to visit for sunset shots, you can walk along the cliff edge and explore. National park entry fee is $8 per day, park closes at 7:30pm. The turning circle by the cliffs doubles as a helipad for emergency rescue operations.

It was good experience with my friends along. It has a $8 per day pass for entrance to the place. It has got lovely bbq arrangements and plenty of picnic spots. Great place for family and friends. It also has a cricket pitch for players which was amazing. Throughtout the entire place it has multiple lookouts, trails, beach view and so much more spots to cover.

Beautiful spot for a walk, we even got to see a Seal! Just needs the toilet reopened as the kids had to go and it cut our adventure short. But, it was beautiful and the spots with grass were well looked after.

Botany Bay- La Perouse is a must see for any tourist in Sydney. Its a beautiful place with historic roots. The sunsets are breathtaking especially if youโ€™re a photographer. There are local cafes, fish shops etc around - good but not the best and slightly overpriced. I suggest bring a small picnic basket as there are beautiful plateaus you can sit on. A jacket is a must carry as it can get windy and chilly. You can fish as well if youโ€™re into that. Parking is tight so plan youโ€™re trip or park outside the main area. There are also some cool locations to explore around La Perouse. Enjoy

A hidden gem in the city. Where la parouse is calm and on the other side itโ€™s wild and rocky. Itโ€™s a perfect place for day trip and picnic. This lookout is good for someone who wants so do sort or meditation. But careful with the edges and it can be slippery after rain.

One of the best scenic places around 1hr drive from Sydney, for enjoying your weekend and relieving your stress. This isn't just a place to roam around, rather, a place to enjoy the roar of the ocean from a height, explore the bushes, sitting idle under a tree with your book and listening to the chirping of birds.... If you are lucky enough you might watch the whales ๐Ÿ‹ here too.... We didn't got the chance to see.

This is a beautiful park to visit. There are so many things to do and take in here. Aboriginal culture, bird watching, whale watching, fishing, walks, surfing and so much more. I love going to Cape Solander and love the whale watching lookout. There is a great walk up to the lighthouse from the lookout and there are great views of the coast as you head up and on your way back. Be careful along the cliff faces. There is no fencing. Love going here.

Love this place. Easy walk, nice breeze and view. The souvenirs at the visitor centre are unique and beautiful. There were enough activities around to be lively - with no unnecessary crowd and tourist, so the walk was very comfortable. Note: Dog isn't allowed, it's a national park! No, I didn't bring any. I saw a few visitors taking their dogs for weekend stroll and I was completely confused (I know about the no pets in national park rules), but unsure since I'm not local in the area. In the end I saw 2 (different) people with dogs being scolded by the ranger for bringing dogs into the national park. So, just DON'T BRING YOUR PETS here.
