The Shakshouka was overcooked so the tomato sauce became super acidic which was a lil overwhelming, charging $4.5 for ONE small burnt falafel cut in half is insane but at least the coffee and customer service was good

Had a coffee which was good. However, what is Israeli food with felafel, shakshuka, zaatar and other culinary and culturally Palestinian and Arab foods appropropriated and given names like Laffa salad and Israeli salad with felafel. Shameful. Call it what it is do not rename and rebrand Palestinian foods as Israeli. Why is a Palistinian food called a Tel Aviv breakfast. Cultural theft and appropriation.

Shenkin is a small local cafe's chain in Newtown area. The food is beyond tasty Coffee is really good. The owners are sweet and welcoming One of those cafes that puts a smile on your face every time you go there. Worth the trip, and good value for your money

Best coffee I’ve ever had in Sydney (visiting from Melbourne). The Shakshuka with eggplant and halloumi was awesome. The lemon and mint frappe was perfect accompaniment to the SHakshuka. Even the tune selection was on point. Forgot to take photo it was so good.

What an excellent surprise, wandering in for a cafe breakfast and finding an Israeli menu with a strong Yemeni influence. The malawach was great, with a generous serve of side dishes (tomato, hummus, tahina) and eggs.

If you're looking for a delicious and hearty breakfast, Shenkin Erskineville is the place to be. The shakshuka is fantastic, and the Tel Aviv breakfast is my personal favorite. The service is always polite, and the prices are reasonable.

Always great food. The B&E roll with coriander is exceptional. This time was the first time we’ve had anything not be perfect (eggs were slightly runny after we ordered them well done) and they insisted on replacing the meal and taking two coffees off the bill. They are a quality operation

Nice little cafe - a little inattentive but lovely coffee. Eggs were nice too.

Found this cozy cafe when I had just transferred to Erko for work. It immediately made me feel welcome to this unique suburb. The staff are always friendly and the coffee is always consistent in quality and flavour. I've tried the pastries here before and they're lovely! I hope to be on a later shift sometime to have some brekky.

I’ve been coming here for years now, and although the menu changes up every now and again (and I can’t get some of my old faves), the food is always amazing! Always presented in such a nice way too. The coffee is also very solid as well.

Favourite spot in Erskineville. Fun and friendly stuff, plenty of sunshine on a good day, and the menu is top notch. The Tel Aviv Breakfast is a favourite, as is the shakshuka.

Angelita’s special was sooo good! I loved the puff pastry and spicy coriander. My partner got the Shakshuka and it was very good as well. Also recommend their fresh orange juice ☺️ calm and bright venue, with friendly staff

Food was okay. Table and seating arrangements could have been better. I think the noise at the front of the Cafe can be reduced if staff are a bit more gentle in handling the glasses and other cutlery. Not bad by any means but I did expect a bit more peace and calm. Else it's a good place for a quick bite.

Popular, with good reason, excellent coffee and delicious breakfast/brunch options. I can't judge the authenticity of Israeli food, but it sure does taste fantastic, the flavours are really punchy, good amount of acidity balanced with well seasoned and good quality ingredients.

This team is absolutely amazing, they’re so kind and caring to their customers, their energy is outstanding and whenever I pop in, they turn my day around and become the highlight of the day.. whoever owns this business absolutely selected the best people to work with. Whoever did the closing shift today (23/4/23) should be celebrated and acknowledged, they were so lovely :)

Great location, great vibe, amazing food... but most importantly amazing coffee. This place is a must try if you are looking for something different in Sydney. When you aren’t feeling that traditional bacon, eggs and avocado breakfast this place is for you. Oh, you are...? Well, this place also dose that too. Heh.

Beautiful simple food and great coffee. Only downside is the loud music in the morning. Struggled relaxing and talking to my friend due to the noise. I would recommend to the manager to just put some ambient background music.

The staff have always been friendly, helpful and punctual by being ready at or sometimes even before the official opening time of 7am on Saturdays and Sundays. The food and coffee is delicious. All in all worth checking out if you're after a tasty take-away breakfast!

Stumbled upon this cafe in Erskinville and it was a very pleasant experience from being greeted by the very friendly staff to the amazing food they have. I ordered the Telaviv Brekkie while my wife had the Shakshuka. Both were crowd pleasers for sure. :)
