Bistro review After the recent renovation we were interested in the bistro and it did not disappoint. It was the second week since re-opening and the food was great! There’s no kid menu available but our kids enjoyed the bangers & mash, schnitzel and steak. A few items weren’t available but everything we ordered was delicious. We preferred the sirloin over the rump. The salt and pepper calamari was delish! As was the bangers & mash! This will definitely be on our regular rotation! The staff were also very friendly; food came out fast and great value for money! Very happy this will be our local!

Brilliant golf course. Sydney is so dry right now but Eastlakes would have to be the lushest and most well kept course I've played. It is a very tricky course where local knowledge is key. The Vardon event results show how tough this track is from the back tees. If you can keep your golf ball in play (lots of OOB and impossible rough) then you should be shooting some good scores. The 2nd hole has a fantastic view of both Bonnie Doon and The Lakes Golf Courses. Nice.

This place is not the same without Nat behind the bar. Nat was funny and had a great sense of humour and always made time to make people feel welcome. Please bring Nat back!

The best value for your money golf course in Australia and it keeps getting better thanks to the staff and the green keepers! A challenging golf course (for me at least) with lots of elevations and with manicured fairways. Can be long to walk, make sure you hire a cart from the friendly staff in the pro shop.

Beautifully kept greens, some tee boxes could be better kept, but a great course close to the city and very accessible.

Visited after finding out the old owner of Feedbag had his burgers on the menu. Fitout is great. Burgers are amazing (as expected). Lunch specials are great and kids eat free on Wednesday and Thursday nights (there is a kids menu). Little outdoor grassy area for kids to run around. A little play area or some plastic putt putt on the little green and the families will be rolling in!

Good challenge of a golf course with some beautiful holes but frustrating layout meant very long walks from green to the next tee between a number of holes. This led to a very slow round, especially if you’re stuck behind competition groups. Bunkers and some tee boxes were not in good conditions when we played in August.

One of the best public courses in the eastern suburbs. Make sure you take a cart as the walk between holes is long. Well maintained fairways, fast greens and friendly staff. Make sure you carry your own drinks as the shacks aren't open throughout.

After reading other reviews and having an average score of 4.4 stars I had high expectations. I thought I would start with brunch before teeing off at 12.15. The club house has seen better days and the chef wasnt due until 12pm so I left to seek a cafe elsewhere. I returned for tee off and got the petrol run cart. I couldnt find reverse to start as its behind your legs below the seat but it worked ok. I wouldnt want to play this course without a cart as there is some several 100m walks between tee offs, possibly due to maintenance as some were closed. I found the greens rock hard and very fast. There is some challenging holes with many bunkers and other hazards. I preferred the back nine but did get frustrated with waiting as the 3 group in front were taking their time. Talking to the guys following me they said its usual to be waiting and they had abandoned previously. I played on a Thursday and in July. I did like some of the holes but not enough to return as didnt think it was value for money.

This course is a very long walk. Like it otherwise, reasonably priced, decent quality. Also FYI. Cash only at the half way house (which does a sensational b&e)

Amazing course and a definite challenge. Surely one of the most underrated public access courses in Australia.

Great course. Was in surprisingly good condition for this time of year. it's quite long and you have to go over a main road, a cart is highly recommended. The clubhouse is very old fashioned. The staff were friendly and the prices weren't too bad.

Very long for a walk, good configuration, good fairways and greens. Not super technical and pretty forgiving so suits mid to high handicappers like myself.

Great course, but carts in at 7 when it's bright out untill 8 is some joke during the summer!!

One of the best public Golf Courses in Sydney, the green staff do a wonderful job keeping the course top notch !!

  • 3/5 Jim S. 2 years ago on Google
Course extraordinarily dry considering all the rain. I think they are taking advantage of being one of the few playable golf courses. Charges exorbitant.

First time round take the buggy, a few long walks between holes. Other than that, course is playing so nice!

Bad experience, flights behind hit on to the green while we were on it. Happened twice, not coincidence i suppose. Management should discipline these players.

Eastlake is a nice course with a good pro shop but played today and it took 3 hours to play 9 holes. We bailed after 9 as it just wasn’t fun to wait 20 minutes at every tee box. Was told after it was because they had so many people playing but that seems like something in their control so not a particularly good excuse…

golf was great though distance between some holes is bit of a walk unexpectedly the coffee in pro shop was excellent

Get a cart... there are long walks between green and tee boxes. I like the course, it's well kept, has some challenging holes, the day we played the flags were in some very tricky spots but for me this made it more fun. Our group hopes to play it again soon.

I played here yesterday which I booked on the phone but when I tried to book another round for next week, the guy at the pro shop said booking can be done ONLY through online. I don't see any other golf courses that don't get bookings on the phone. Then, why is he staying in the pro shop? And why do they keep having a phone in the pro shop?

It is very disappointing that this club has horrible wheel chair access it was almost impossible to take my grandfather to this club. I ordered a coffee and the gentleman serving me said that he had never made a coffee before and I didn't receive the coffee I had asked for his coffee knowledge was poor.

Eastlake Golf Club Eastlake Golf Club in Eastlakes (go figure?)⛳️ has reopened with their new 1.7 million dollar renovations to the Clubhouse. Have a well earned beef after completing your 18 holes or head in simply for a meal at the bistro. New emerald green banquette loungers partitioned to the bar with greenery, it’s comfortable and casual and plenty for both the drinkers and diners alike. Brand new high chairs, though we recommended a toy corner might be a nice addition to keep the kiddies occupied. The clubhouse has a new bistro with all of your bistro favourites; a bunch of appetisers such as wings and garlic breads, mains including burgers, schnitzels and steaks, as well as a kids menu now (wasn’t there when we visited) We had a steak and barrarmundi - both cooked well, compliments to the chef. Be sure to visit with the family and enjoy the new vibes

Do not play here if you are a visitor to Australia. Only offer a useless voucher to be used within 6 months due to inclement weather/course closing (this happened to me after 4 holes). Rental clubs I paid for were a mixed set of older clubs. Rental set had all regular shafts despite telling me they were stiff per my request. Guy in pro shop also said the course is "very walkable" - don't walk it. Finally, course played very slow as it was backed up and we waited on the few holes we got to play before the course and greens were under water. Avoid and play other courses that cater better to visitors.

First time playing at Eastlakes. A well maintained course with fairly open fairways. No real water hazards which surprised me. Easy to walk with a few hill climbs.

Have been meaning to check the new Bistro out since the renovation and finally made it last night. Firstly the renovation is fantastic. The area used to be very uninviting and had been untouched for decades. Now it is bright and very comfortable with all new furniture etc. as soon as we sat down one of the locals asked us if we needed a menu and grabbed us one. Very friendly and welcoming as opposed to a couple of reviews. The barman was also very friendly and chatty. Menu is basic pub/club food, Burgers, steak, schnitzel etc. Ordered the Fish and Chips and spicy Calamari. Fish was nice and crispy, nice chips and the salad was also very fresh with a light dressing. Calamari was okay but nothing special. They have a few specials and they have a kids eat free deal on Wednesday and Thursday night. If you are local go and give them a try and give them some support as it is a great addition to the area.

Can not speak highly enough of the club and the fabulous staff. Held my daughter’s 16th birthday party here and it was great! Food was very good value, delicious and plentiful. Manager and Food & Beverage Manager were so helpful in planning and executing a memorable event.

Good value for money but golf cart definitely recommended as some of the holes are quite the distance from each other. Make sure your short game is dialled in when the tiny greens are running fast!

What a HUGE course! Thankfully had a buggy otherwise would have got my weekly steps in one day. Course is well maintained and is challenging. Some great views of the city from different spots. There is a little cafe half way around, so good to stop and take a break if you want to. The club house is modern and clean. The food we had (we were doing a golf day) was excellent and served with a smile. The staff were great too! It was my first time to this course but hopefully not my last.

Great public course. Get ready for a long walk. I ended up doing 25,000 steps that day and it's quite picturesque with some interesting and challenging holes. The course has: * a chipping green * a putting green * driving nets near the car park. * a halfway house with snacks but it's CASH ONLY. The car park entrance is quite hidden on the entrance, it's near gardiners road. So you don't just need to park on the road. Loved the day out. What a great public course!

Course is short but plays much more challenging than longer resort style courses and makes you think. Green and fairways are usually excellent. Some tee boxes are a little ragged and some slow rounds, but for the money is great.

I had my 1st comp start today with my mate Riggers at Eastlake Golf Club. Eastlake is a fabulous suburban course, a terrific challenging scenic layout. It’s a brilliant place to have a hit. We walked the 18 holes but it was a hot day & it’s a long long way so we should of just hired a cart to combat the fatigue. We both played ok & celebrated with a couple of ice cold beers in the clubhouse that capped off a memorable & satisfying day.
