😐 Nice new interiors if you’re looking for somewhere prettier to have a beer than say the Gladstone Hotel. Friendly bar staff. A lot of tv screens for lots of sports channels. Attended opening night – only 1 out of the 4 food orders we placed was correct. Food was tasty though, just figured they were... Nice new interiors if you’re looking for somewhere prettier to have a beer than say the Gladstone Hotel. Friendly bar staff. A lot of tv screens for lots of sports channels. Attended opening night – only 1 out of the 4 food orders we placed was correct. Food was tasty though, just figured they were busy. Decided to give it another go on another week on a trivia night – that was good and well ran. Ordered a bowl of chips to share $8 – very small portion & no salt. Pork belly burger $22 had 2 really thinly sliced pork belly – disappointing as we had that on opening night and it had 4 decent cuts. Gnocchi was tasty and smelled super cheesy. Schnitzels $20+ were big and not dry. Side 'salad' could do with dressing and more than just loose leaves , mash was nice and cooked veg could do with more cooking. Would love to see more consistency with the meals. Will try the pizzas next time.

$12 lunch specials mon- sat 11am to 5pm!! And the cheapest house beers and spirits in the inner west!! Plus an authentic Italian bistro with great staff.. and a lush gaming and smoking area with great big screens for all your sporting action. And underground parking.. This venue covers all the bases!

The Pasta Carbonara was and usually is, of a more than competent standard. They seem to have changed their suppliers as the pancetta seemed more like bacon. Most disappointing 😕 was the laziness and lack of compromise of the chef, who refused to make a simple rocket and parmesan 🥗. Regardless of having the 4 ingredients available.

I visited the Hurlstone Park Hotel with some friends on Friday night, with the intention of watching the live rugby league matches. Upon arrival, staff were friendly, however, the volume on the big screen in the sports bar was set very low. I, along with other patrons inquired with staff to have the volume turned up to hear the game. They sought out their manager to asisst with our request. The manager - 'Andy' approached patrons in the sports bar advising that it was against the hotels policy to turn up the volume as it was unfair to patrons in the poker machine area who were listening to the music. This reasoning sounded completely absurd. The volume of the game and commentary could barely be heard at a whisper level, ruining our experience. The manager showed disregard for locals like myself and the other patrons there. We were left shocked and appalled, leaving the establishment in disbelief. The fact that problem gamblers are given preference over loyal local patrons there to watch the football is disgusting. I will never return to Hurlstone Park Hotel if this is the treatment loyal, civilised patrons must deal with every week. It is obvious that Hurlstone Park Hotel management prefer people to walk into their premises, have problem gamblers donate large amounts of money to them and leave. Not the friendly local pub it once was.

Decent taplist with some local brews (but would love to see more!). Food is really good here.. Docking a star because I asked for dip (aioli) and was told I'd have to pay $2... 10% of the cost of the food. And as if I'm going to get up and pay after the food is served. Not cool! Will BYO mayo next time lol

This is a sports bar on the ground floor of an apartment block which has been built on the site of a pub that has been demolish. One good thing is there is underground parking and there is a lift. The bar has the TAB at one end and Gaming room and smoking area at the other end of the building. The food is a mixture of what you'd expect in a pub. There are lunchtime specials with the Snitys $16 and $2 for gravy/sauce. The meals were a reasonable size and are brought to your table. Beers are from the major breweries. Staff were friendly

Great place to bring my family for dinner. The staff are always so caring and friendly. The bistro is child friendly. The food is amazing. The kids menu is one of the main reasons that we continue to come back. Kids pizza is big and delicious. The food has never let us down. The pizzas are amazing and so are the pastas. We really enjoy having dinner here.

This establishment is exceptional. Management and the convivial staff are highly professional with an enticing bountiful menu of lashings of food to tantalise and nourish the soul. The decor is stylish and the relaxed atmosphere will encourage you to return again. The Hurlstone Park Hotel is a living testament of the fact you can still find brilliantly run businesses in Sydney. Should you want an impressive succulent meal where the fish melts in your mouth with a salad and chips which are magnifiquely balanced - this is the place to visit. Why waste your money going to a multi-national fast food venue when your taste buds can be eurphorically seduced and congratulated for choosing to savour the menu on offer here?

I and my mate had a supreme pizza and drinks at this hotel. It was one of the best pizza in the town compare to the price. The service was excellent. I would definitely recommend people to come and give a try. I surely would come back with my friends and family again.

Sadly, I am disappointed after giving this place a few goes. Even though I live a few doors down I won't be making it my local as it stands. It is a busy venue, but just not for me. Nevertheless, I want to share my thoughts which I believe many locals also feel the same. Sorry for such an average review. Firstly, can't fault the service. The bar manager Mel is lovely and all the staff are super friendly. The food - despite other reviews I find it average. Pasta is always overcooked, never al dente. We have tried most things on menu and the only stand out is the garlic bread/pizza. Need some specials or cheaper options particularly on trivia nights Main bar - all those sports/tab/racing screens in the main bar makes it feel like this is only a gaming bar - there is already screens available in the "sports" bar near the pokies. Also, seating arrangement is really only suitable for large groups, nothing really for couples.Id like to see some local beers, better whisky etc. I feel like they don't understand the local demographic at all. Restaurant - Th lights are extremely bright. Its not enticing and feels like a food court. Dim lights, some background music and set the tables with salt/pepper and Italian condiments like oil/vinegar to bring it up a notch. As above, food is ok-ish. Meat raffles - I am sure you are building up (hopefully), but you need at least 10 trays. 3 prizes is poor...so poor. Keep up the friendly personable service - we love this.

I have been attending this venue for a number of years to watch sports. The food is terrible. It has really declined (which is hard to believe) over the time that I have been coming in and now its practically inedible. I have given it multiple chances to no avail. Even the prices have increased? The vegetarian options are incredibly limited. The one time "Special Vegan Burger" was simply a hash brown and beetroot in a bun. I used to get the mushroom burger, have tried the vegetarian Pizzas but no matter what I eat there it ultimately makes me feel bloated and a little unwell, for want of a better word. All my friends that attend this venue no longer eat here. The Snitzel isn't great either. I have never experienced food in a venue continuously having this affect. I warn new friends that come along to eat before or to make other arrangements. I would love to know if the kitchen staff actually eat the same food that they are sending out? The bar staff are nice and friendly but are not allowed to swap glasses for certain drinks. They seem a little frustrated to have these conversations continuously but its obvious they are not making these rules. The additional cost for extras is ridiculous, to change from normal fries to sweet potato has a $4 mark up, for example. I enjoy watching sports here, the bar is nice and the chairs are very comfortable. At this point if the seating changed I probably wouldn't return. It seems a shame that this is the case but I don't think a pub should offer such bad food at the higher end of the price point. I hope these changes can be made.

I’ve been coming here every two weeks for years to watch the Boxing/UFC. The staff members couldn’t be nicer and the girl who served us today was wonderful. The problems with the food, everything is deep fried and if you are a vegetarian you have very little options and even the veggie burger is soaked in fat, the hash brown, mushrooms in that burger are all friend with so much oil it leaves me and friends feeling so sick. The best thing on the menu used to be the pasta dishes because they weren’t fried in so much oil. They’ve now stopped allowing schooner glasses with vodka sodas, which is such a shame…. I drink with beer drinkers and we might have 8/10 drinks on a Sunday and if I get a vodka in a tall glass it’s gone in three sips! I feel like this pub has become too corporate because the quality of service used to be great and the food was so much better a year ago! I really hope these guys listen to their loyal customers, we are there weekly and come in a group of ten nearly twice a month for 6/8 hours per time.

Very sports bar if that's your thing, never super busy and you can always get a table. Good food, friendly staff, kinda a bit full of gambling though

The food was okay but there is limited atmosphere and the service was was not particularly attentive. There was only two of us in the bistro but no one came near us after our meals and first drinks were served. I was keen for some dessert but no service, so we paid and left.

Where do you go to watch sporting events? Hurlstone Park Hotel! Had some wedges and salt and pepper squid while watching what I considered a friendly match between Canelo and GGG. Wedges were delicious and while there was little pepper on the salt and pepper squid it tasted like they were coated in prawn crackers ….. yummmm. If you are in the area check the place out. They have parking which for where it is makes life easier indeed.

Went here the other evening and was so disappointed to find it's just a gaming / tab bar and a sports bar. Massive screens,in the 2 bars, loud as hell sport and people shouting. Not at all what I expected. But now I know. If that's your thing,it'd be a good place. But if you're just after a quiet drink, not so much.

Just moved locally and thought I'd try the Italian Bistro I booked Sunday lunch for 5 people (my dad's birthday) The waitress was lovely, we sat at a large round table near the open kitchen. The menu is great, with many options at a superb price, portions were quite substantial. We ordered fish stew, sirloin, rump, burger, barramundi - all cooked to perfection ! We walked around to the pub section which looked very nic, clean, and quite full for Sunday. We waved goodbye and complimented the chef. I'll definitely be going back. Thank you for a great meal. So happy I found a great local pub with gourmet style food!!!

Went to the bistro for mother's Day lunch. The service and the food are both excellent. The food is especially fresh and impressive with hand made pasta and hand stretched pizza. The antipasto board was the freshest I've ever had. The service is on point, attentive, smiles, well timed, and good communication. The bistro is seperate from the main pub and is really nicely renovated. The main pub is beautiful inside too. All the staff smile. Good vibes. The new chef in the bistro is fantastic.

One star. You can never replace what it was. You wouldn't know who works here as there are no greetings, service. In 4 hours there was not one offer of a drink or a hello, how are you? No ID check, no sign in for contact tracing, lack of hand sanitizer available. Machines weren't wiped down regularly. Not sure what the latest covid regulations are, but most pubs have implemented basic preventative measures during covid. On the plus side if you wanna visit they have an underground car park which is much more convenient than finding roadside parking.

Grumpies at the Hurlstone Park Hotel is a quick stop for a cheap chicken schnitty. Their beer is cold and the staff are always smiling. Sadly the Hurlstone Park Hotel is no more. The local council decided that medium density residential was the plan for that end of New Canterbury Road.... Another local watering hole gone due to development.

It's not much but it's all Hurlstone Park has as far as pubs go. Soon to disappear under a huge block of units.
