I
write
this
review
with
a
heavy
heart
and
a
sense
of
duty
towards
other
parents
who
may
be
considering
entrusting
their
child's
well-being
to
Dr.
Mohammad
Sharier
at
the
Gentle
Procedures
Clinic
in
Revesby.
Upon
arrival,
we
were
shown
into
a
surgical
room
with
two
blue
chairs
and
told
to
wait.
The
atmosphere
was
sterile
and
cold,
a
direct
reflection
of
the
care
and
attention
we
received.
When
the
doctor
finally
arrived,
his
demeanor
was
dismissive
and
indifferent,
as
though
he
had
better
places
to
be.
As
concerned
parents,
we
had
a
list
of
questions
and
concerns,
to
which
he
responded
with
a
nonchalant
suggestion
to
'just
go
on
the
website.'
This
response
struck
me
as
incredibly
unprofessional
and
dismissive.
We
had
already
done
our
research
and
were
seeking
personalized
advice
and
reassurance
from
a
medical
professional,
not
a
referral
to
a
generic
website.
The
consultation
fee
of
$100
felt
exorbitant
for
the
level
of
care
and
consideration
we
received.
It's
not
the
fee
but
the
lack
of
value
and
compassion
that
stung.
What
was
even
more
alarming
was
that
upon
further
research,
we
discovered
that
this
doctor
had
recently
been
in
court
for
a
grave
mistake:
“
left
a
six-day
old
baby
in
intensive
care
after
they
were
given
a
potentially
fatal
opioid
dose
-
which
he
mistook
for
children’s
Panadol”
-
following
a
medical
procedure.
This
is
not
a
simple
oversight
but
a
critical
error
that
could
have
had
catastrophic
consequences.
It's
terrifying
to
think
that
a
well-respected
doctor
could
make
such
a
mistake.
Trust,
once
broken,
is
hard
to
restore.
While
Dr.
Sharier
may
have
had
a
history
of
good
work,
this
incident
has
shaken
our
confidence
in
his
practice.
This
is
not
to
claim
that
he
isn't
an
adept
circumcision
doctor,
but
his
recent
actions
have
shown
a
significant
lapse
in
judgment
and
responsibility.
We
had
a
surgical
appointment
scheduled
for
this
Friday,
but
we've
decided
to
cancel.
We
cannot,
in
good
conscience,
entrust
our
child's
safety
to
someone
who
has
demonstrated
such
a
lack
of
care
and
professionalism.
I
urge
all
parents
to
do
their
research
and
make
an
informed
decision
about
who
they
trust
with
their
child's
health.
