5 star because -price is only 10 bs -many buses that bring you directly front door 2 bs each eay -mini zoo( lovely birds, turtles, crocodiles, etc...) -Garden is so so but you can get a private guide from personal for free or tip) -map of the place disadvantage: those damn musquitos destroyed me & no food but you can pay 20 bs and use their bbq facilities

A botanical garden of a different kind. A bit wild but original. Make sure to bring insect repellent even in dry season. Entrance is 10 BOB, kids are for free. Uber is a good choice to get there. No wifi for the way back... Recommended.

I went on a Monday when they were supposed to be closed but they were open and there were other people there also, but not many. This is a great place to explore the local flora and fauna. I saw monkeys, turtles, even alligators! I also saw some big lizards but they like to hide from people and are difficult to see. I enjoyed a few hours here exploring the trails. It was hot and sunny and so I didn't need bug repellant, but I did need a LOT of sunblock, so if you go on a hot sunny day, ditch the repellent and slather on the sunblock. Unfortunately, a huge part of the park is closed due to "maintenance" and you're not permitted to enter, though there's also nothing to stop you. I erred on the side of caution however and didn't venture past the posted sign (see photos). There's a tall lookout tower you can climb that offers some views of the surrounding area. There are also some activities for kids. Overall, it was a nice place to pass a few hours. It's quite far from the center of Santa Cruz - $6 - $7 by Uber each way. Entry was $10Bs. I wish the rest of the park was open, but I'm happy I went. I think it's worth checking out if you have some time to spend in Santa Cruz.

I hate to leave bad reviews on natural spaces, but stay away from this place. For starters, the mosquitos are bad. I mean, REALLY BAD. We slathered ourselves in multiple kinds of repellent and still walked out with over a dozen bites, thanks to the Garden's swamps and wetland breeding grounds. Second, much of the park could use some TLC. Third, when it came to wildlife, we saw two tortoises, one beautiful butterfly, one cat, and 87,000 mosquitos. Nothing else. At least this place is cheap, and it has a cool cactus garden.

Great to visit with your family on a Sunday! Don't forget to bring with you the repellent and also comfortable shoes so you can walk in the tropical route to see the jungle from within. Also the st forest and the palm son are great and they need to be visited. The bonsai is also great but if you have children better get there another day to really enjoy it. If you plan to go for a deep typical first walk do with trousers and extra repellent to enjoy better.

Far too many mosquitoes, not able to stop, sit or lie on the grass due to mosquitoes. We did not complete the whole walk due to the same reason. Just got to the "mirador"

Amazing !! A lot of wildlife including 3 toed Sloths, Caimans, Monkeys and more. This is a huge area and if you really want to see the areas wildlife its a good idea to hire local guides. Contact Nicks Adventures Bolivia and they can arrange wildlife watching trips here to look for Sloths, Monkeys, Toucans and more. Its very important to bring water, repellent as well. As this area is over 100 hectares its easy to get lost in the forested area as well.

It's a nice place to walk around. The from off the park is quite pretty. The mosquitoes are very hungry. They get really bad the further back into the park you walk. The large open roads have fewer mosquitoes. The paths that are further back can get very muddy as they are not paved. Several items/ areas are off-limits for repair. The whole place could be gorgeous if more attention/ work was given. Overall we saw a cayman, a Tegu lizard, and a few birds.

It's a place with a lot of green spaces, but it seems some careless. There's no description of the plants nor so much guides.

Ein sehr großer und ruhiger Park. Gut für einen Spaziergang und zum Entspannen. Vor allem für dein Eintrittspreis gibt es nicht zu bemängeln.

El Jardín Botánico de Santa Cruz, is a big lovely and very cheap place to go for a whole day with your family and friends. Specially if you like plants. Entry was only £1 pp. you can also take your food and drinks there as they don’t have a restaurant working at the moment. There was a bendy machine thou. You can ask for the bbq area and take tents ⛺️ and do camping. Be aware of the mosquitos 🦟 🌱

We caught a taxi from the bus station to the gardens as we had a few hours to wait for our overnight bus. Taxi cost 30-50 Bs (more expensive for AC) and entrance fee 10 Bs. The park is huge and mostly just dry dusty scrub that was nothing special. We lathered ourselves in Mossie spray but I guess the lack of rain has meant they aren’t such a problem at the moment. The cactus garden was terrible and the look out tower at the back of the park, falling down. That said, it was lovely to be away from the city. A storm came through and cooled things down a bit. In the final hour we saw monkeys, cayman, capybaras, turtles, squirrels and lots of birds. We all enjoyed the few hours we spent there.

Nice enough place, but it is quite wild and rough, so family trips must be well planed, especially uf you are bringing young kids. A LOT OF MOSQUITOS, so bring light long sleeve and trousers.

Beautiful Place with a vide variety of plants and wildlife in general. It is really worth it to take a long stroll in there since there is just so much wildlife to discover once you just start looking around you. I hope that they will be able to better their upkeep but taking the huge space in mind they are doing ok.

Worth a visit but much room for improvement. One of the trails ended in the middle of the woods and the thematic woods were closed for maintenance. On my strolls I encountered quite a lot of plastic bags, bottles and packaging material, not to mention the toilet paper and napkins.

Beautiful place to be! You can go in the morning and stay the complete day. There are many activities inside, an open park for children and dogs and also for hicking in a tropical route that is around 4 km. Don't forget to bring the insect repellent just to be comfortable and also a camera.

Nice place – we visited the garden during our stay in Santa Cruz – it is just a short ride with a cab to get there. Entrance fee is very little. We spotted some sloths there – really cute. Overall it is a nice walk in the nature. We also saw some crocodiles. Make sure you bring mosquito spray because there were lots of them.

So sad experience, I do not recommend going there, it's dirty, no signals, the place it's like falling in pieces, we couldn't be there more than 20 min because of the mosquitos, the administration excuse was that are cleaning now and are in minga, the place should be closed to do this and don't make us waste time and money. Was not worth it.

Took the local bus (2BOB, takes 40-50 minutes, look out for Cotoca on the front of the bus from any of the buses going around) to the park after reading all the great reviews. I enjoyed my visit and was able to see a couple of Caimans in the lake shortly after arriving. I also had a great ice cream and a good time relaxing in the recreational area. But unfortunately I didn't really know where I could go in the park. Some areas seemed to be closed off and the forest path got wild quite quickly and not seeing anyone else on the paths I decided to chicken out. I felt like I could've gotten lost fairly easily. I would've liked to have seen a staff member somewhere for help in this and also maybe a tip on how to spot a sloth (although I'm sure it's just lucky if you spot one) but the only staff member I met was the one at the front gate for my ticket and who will give you a map if you ask. So either a few more signs for guidance or a member of staff somewhere to give you some info on the place would be useful. That said, I'd still recommend it as a trip out of the city.

(Translated by Google) The place is beautiful if you want to breathe fresh air and walk for a long time. It is quite large so always try to bring water and mosquito repellent because they will not stop biting you! From time to time you can also see wild anime such as sloths, and others not as wild as turtles. Great place, it just requires a little more maintenance to keep the place in good shape. Recommended 100 and the best thing is that there are hardly ever many people.
