Before
arriving
in
Santa
Cruz
we
contacted
3
agencies
based
there,
in
order
to
get
information
about
the
different
tours
they
offered
in
the
Amborò
park
or
others
parks
in
the
Amazonas.
Once
arrived
in
Santa
Cruz,
we
went
to
the
offices
of
those
agencies,
but
no-one
was
opened
(it
was
monday
morning).
After
a
message
exchange,
the
only
one
which
could
give
us
an
appointment
was
Ruta
Verde
Tours.
In
the
afternoon,
we
went
at
their
office
and
the
secretary
(only
Spanish
spoken)
told
us
that
they
can
offer
only
two
tours,
both
in
the
Amborò
park.
Even
if
the
price
was
considerably
high
245
US
$/
person
(much
more
of
the
ones
starting
from
Rurrenabaque,
but
in
there
it
was
raining
all
the
week),
we
decided
to
take
a
3days-2
nights
tour
in
the
northern
side
of
the
park,
starting
from
Buena
Vista.
The
morning
after,
a
taxi
picked
us
up
from
our
hotel
in
Santa
Cruz,
and
left
us
in
Buena
Vista,
where
our
guide
and
his
4WD
car
(old
and
not
well
running,
without
a
mirror
and
with
the
front
window
quite
broken!)
were
waiting
for
us.
The
tour
starts
after
1h
30';
the
agency
had
told
us
that
there
were
a
ticket
to
pay
(100
bs/person)
and
we
had
gave
the
money
to
our
guide,
but
the
gate
at
the
entrance
of
the
park
was
closed
and
there
weren't
any
ticket
office.
Surrounding
the
gate,
the
guide
led
us
to
the
path
inside
the
forest.
Our
camp
was
in
a
camping
area
inside
the
forest.
In
3
days
we
run
no
long
trekking,
just
the
2nd
day
we
spent
a
half
day
walking,
while
the
first
and
last
day
the
time
was
spent
to
go
to
and
then
come
back
from
the
camp.
Our
guide,
was
60
years
old
and,
even
if
he
was
quite
expert,
he
wanted
to
stop
everyday
a
lot
of
time.
The
second
day
we
had
to
come
back
to
the
camp
after
lunch,
and
he
spent
almost
1
hour
and
a
half
sleeping
in
the
tent...and
after,
the
day
was
gone!!
Animals?!
Yes,
of
course...
orrible
mosquitos
(different
from
the
common
ones)
and
ticks
which
covered
us
of
hundreds
(it's
not
a
joke!)
of
bites!
Apart
from
that,
it
was
just
possible
to
watch
few
monkeys
jumping
in
some
trees
very
far
from
us,
some
frogs
and
a
snake.
That's
all!!
If
I
had
camped
in
the
garden
of
my
house
I
will
have
watched
more
fauna!
In
addition,
the
park
is
full
of
rubbish
which
locals
leave
after
swimming
in
the
natural
pools
along
the
river.
Meals
were
also
very
poor,
only
consisting
in
carbohydrates
(pasta,
rice,
bread)
and
vegetables.
Just
a
steak
the
first
lunch,
but
no
additional
proteins
(I
think
it
was
easy
to
take
bins
of
tuna,
beans
or
meat
and
boiled
eggs)
in
the
following
meals.
For
breakfast,
we
just
had
tea
bags,
no
powder
coffee
was
provided
(maybe
too
much?!!).
Coming
back,
I
asked
to
our
guide
where
we
should
pay
the
entrance
at
the
park,
so
he
drived
us
to
an
office
(oficina)
inside
Buena
Vista,
but
it
was
closed...I
think
that
there
weren't
a
ticket
to
pay
for
the
entrance,
considering
that
local(and
not?!)
people
can
easly
enter
the
park
and
leave
rubbish!
Bad
company,
bad
tour.
