Feliciano Miguel Abdala Private Natural Heritage Reserve

Tourist attraction

👍👍 The reserve has guided visits by appointment. The guide is a long-time park employee who lives inside and knows a lot about the park's fauna and flora. Really recommended visit; It lasts between 3-5 hours depending on the group's pace, and the coolest thing is the great possibility of seeing muriqui... People often mention forest,

The reserve has guided visits by appointment. The guide is a long-time park employee who lives inside and knows a lot about the park's fauna and flora. Really recommended visit; It lasts between 3-5 hours depending on the group's pace, and the coolest thing is the great possibility of seeing muriquis. We had the chance to see them twice during the tour, a unique experience. They are used to the presence of humans, so they don't run away. Truly a unique experience!

Have the opportunity to go on a trail within this reserve, with the purpose of observing the primates. The reserve is really well cared for and we can see that this location receives biologists from different backgrounds for studies.

Located in the interior of MG, in Santo Antônio do Manhuaçu, district of Caratinga. Remnant of the Atlantic Forest. Natural habitat of the Muriqui, the largest primate in Brazil. Lush forest. Rude, bucolic landscape.

Excellent place to observe nature, especially the Muriqui, the largest primate in the Americas. It's a shame that the Montes Claros Farm is falling apart on the banks of BR 474, and within the reserve the settlers' houses are falling apart, leaving only the Research Center. A regrettable situation given the importance of preserving the site. The surrounding forest, which represents half of the forest that the monkeys use, has been forgotten by the foundation that manages the project.

After 20 years, I visited the forest again and saw no improvement in visitation from the owners. Feliciano's great-grandson charged 45 reais for a group of 6 people, but without any type of support, just to go through a road that turns out to be public and a passage for the region's residents. I think they should hand over the management and administration of the forest to professionals, they are letting this biodiversity reference die without providing the necessary support for those who want to know and understand it.
