👍👍 Very friendly folks with lots of knowledge about local wineries. They gave us excellent recommendations for wineries to visit. We did the suggested wine flight which had very tasty wines with lots of character and at a very fair price. Highly recommended place to stop into for wine buffs. People often mention wine, wines, friendly,

This is a very small place but the wine was excellent. The server happened to be bilingual (Spanish/English). He offered a couple of meats with cheese and bread as well to accompany our tasting, with good sized pours. The selection seems to change frequently and they specialize in Uruguayan wines. The server was incredibly friendly and very knowledgeable. It's a nice spot and worth a visit.

Muchas gracias Niko, Rosa and all MWE team. Great little locals wine bar with a buzzing atmosphere even on a mid week evening , plus a great selection of wines that I wouldn't normally see very often at home in the UK. Niko's recommended local viognier and tannat choices were superb; clearly he's someone with solid knowledge and appreciation that is well worth listening to. Very easy walk from the port if you're visiting from a cruise ship. Good luck with opening your new vermouth bar. Salud. J

Typical, nice, friendly staff and excellent mood. The wine offering is very good, but it should include a few options from the region, not only Uruguayan wines. You can't eat here, just wine, which is a little inconvenient, but the restaurant crossing the street will serve you in your table (beware, it's expensive). For those two things I don't give 5 ⭐. But it is a nice place to visit at least once.

I loved that place so much! Great wine, great people (Nico and Gonzalo were the best!) One of the most amazing places that I have been in my holidays (we’ve been in Argentina, Uruguay and Chile this time). Surely the “alto de la ballena” wine was one of my favorites. If you are in Uruguay and love wine, be sure to go there!

Diego and Nicolas were very knowledgeable about the wines they served. They spoke great English and help us learn about the amazing wines or Uruguay. Our Spanish isn't very good so this was very helpful. We enjoyed our tasting of 7 wines and will definitely be back to try more.

I couldn't have a better night. They will tell you a lot about Uruguayan wine and you will not feel alone as a traveler. One of the top places to visit in Montevideo.

Amazing. Great place to try different Uruguayan wines, with the most friendly and welcoming hosts, in a very inviting environment. (As hint for (European) travellers: Dont be scared by an empty bar at 8 p.m., it fills up only later in Montevideo apparently.)

Diego is an amazing host. We had a very pleasant unpretentious introduction to Uruguayan reds. An enjoyable evening.

This is wonderful place to sip wine, hear music and eat some tapas. A wine tasting menu is available. Or, you can sit at the bar and taste different wines and snack pairings. We did both, and preferred the latter. Go for a vineyard tour and then come back to MWE.

👍👍 A posh craft beer bar with a hip hop ambience, there are plenty of tables and every corner of the bar is painted nicely. A pint of beer is 210 pesos (5 usd aprox) which is a fair deal in Uruguay. It's a self service style and there are plenty of craft beers to choose from!
