I paid with cash. However, I think they will accept card payment, but I don't know if the charge is the same when using card payments. I had the salmon and it was delicious. They have vegetarian, such as cheese filled ravioli or pasta with pesto, on the menu, but no real vegan options.

If you are in search of an inn-like vibe and a fulfilling meal, this is your place. Merluza El Navigante just made my evening.

Great food at a very reasonable price although wine list could use a little help.

Delicious food! Very calm, private and rustic ambiente and friendly service. We left our plates empty and our stomach full. We can recommend the white „vino de la casa“ to enjoy during your stay.

Food is good. Be careful: They do not tell you paying with credit card is +5$! If you complain they do not want to speak english anymore!

One star for the location/ atmosphere and another for the good beef they prepared. Contra: smahed potatoes are a ready to go product that you just mix with water and serve (really bad). The price is too high for the delivered quality and last, staff is not that friendly and does not recognize you as a guest. Would not go again.

The steak was good and the salad was fantastic. Not sure why, but this restaurant (like several others in Montevideo) don't honor their published business hours so you may end up going there only to find that it is closed. We asked our server what his operating hours were for the next day and then took a rather expensive Uber to get there at the time he had mentioned, but they were closed. Great food, but make sure they are open first before you go.

I had a stake with fries. Good size portion and very good quality. I liked it. The guy who works there was very nice.

Really really nice place, super authentic and cool atmosphere. I had the entrecote and it was amazing. Good quality meat and cooked perfectly. Washed down with a few bottles of Patricia. We were served by the owner/cook and he was very friendly and spoke good English. The cost was very fair, there's a small charge for paying with a card so expect that. Will come back here again for sure!

This is the first bad review I have ever given. Normally I would just move on from bad food rather than write a bad review but the scammy pricing makes me write this. Maybe we ordered the wrong things but the pasta and pizza were pretty bad. The waiter was generally friendly though, I’ll say that. But at the end he said it was +15% fee for credit card, so we paid cash. Perhaps somewhere on the super dark menu that you can barely read it says cash prices only … But this makes no sense. At every other restaurant in Uruguay, foreigners paying with a credit card get a DISCOUNT from the headline price due to the tax refund. This place is preventing you from getting the refund. Why would they do this amongst all other restaurants we went to in the country? I can only assume they are taking it for themselves.

Great food and service. It’s a family run restaurant where you feel instantly at home. We watched the football match and ate delicious food.

Weeknight dinner. Friendly staff, good wine, and amazing food (especially the milanesa pollo with pumpkin). Really good value for money. Highly recommended.

Food was good. Very hot day...windows don't open and the kitchen generates a lot of heat. Hard working couple run it.

Stayed in Ciudad Vieja 2 weeks, found myself heading here almost every evening. Great family run restaurant. I tried almost everything and it was all good. The steaks, the pasta and everything else I ate were good. Even the conversations with the owner and his son were fun. Good selection of beer too.

Absolutely phenomenal food, great service, and good atmosphere. They treat you like family and it is truly authentic and local, the menu is not in English but that is part of what coming to Latin America is about. Also more affordable than some of the fancier places but with the same quality food

🫤 Not as good as the Google rating. Fried fish is OK, very basic food. Nothing special here. Service was good. The seating is very poor quality and not as nice as pictured, unfortunately as it is near the water but with no water views.
