The best choice ever in Carrasco, Montevideo 😀😍

Great restaurant. The garden is petfriendly and the food amazing. Lots of gluten and dairy free options (except dessert) and lovely ambiance.

I only wish we could have stayed longer and had a meal at the restaurant. Beautiful boutique hotel / B&B in an excellent neighborhood run by a great team. Mark and Carolina welcomed us as friends and are very interesting and engaging conversationalists. Mark may be a rare expert in South American wine, so be ready to take notes if that's a topic of interest to you.

We stayed at Alquimista for ten days in December 2022. Simply put - they are fantastic. My family and I caught COVID during our flight to Montevideo, and they cared for us like family. They are attentive and focused on ensuring a great experience for all with some of Uruguay's best food and accommodations. We also hosted a family event here - and coordinating a party for 30 folks hosted here was a breeze. The owners and their staff are fabulous. We will be back. Highly recommended.

Our 2 night stay at the Alquimista Montevideo was simply incredible! Mark and his wife were hands on from the moment we arrived. They were friendly, welcoming and wonderful hosts! The building itself was beautiful! The room was spacious, bright and comfortable. The room/bathroom was very clean and new but still had charm. The outdoor area was equally as beautiful as the inside. It was too windy to use the pool while we were there but the garden/pool area looked perfect for a sunny day. We did not get to try the restaurant for any full mean which we know is very popular. We did try a dulce de leche cheesecake for dessert which was delicious! We were super happy with our stay and would stay there again and recommend it to anyone who is looking for a place in Montevideo.

Every time we visit Montevideo, we stay at The Alquimista (two times so far, but will be more). It's the best hotel experience we've ever had, but feels more like "home" than hotel. The owners always make us feel welcome, like family. The rooms are thoughtful, elegant, big, and beautiful. The made-to-order breakfast is so delicious. You'll want to stay forever!

This is a boutique hotel in a beautiful old home in Carrasco. They serve lunch, tea and Friday and Saturday nights, dinner. We were there in the evening and would recommend it for a couple's night out. Ambiance, food and background music all perfect.
