👍👍 New find in Punta Carreras. Really interesting new Wine Bar and Restaurant. The style is upscale and modern. The menu borders on French with an excellent tartare as well as some other classic but not fussy dishes. Very nice Wine List with some quite reasonably priced quality wines from UY and AR as... Sister restaurant to Baco in Santiago de Chile with much reduced menu, but excellent wine list. Unfortunately, this restaurant does not have on the menu simple French staples like pate and duck. Service was good and quality of dishes we had was good as well.

New find in Punta Carreras. Really interesting new Wine Bar and Restaurant. The style is upscale and modern. The menu borders on French with an excellent tartare as well as some other classic but not fussy dishes. Very nice Wine List with some quite reasonably priced quality wines from UY and AR as well as old world. Staff was friendly and the front patio was charming and quiet because of the Street location. A nice, new and very pleasant experience. UPdate: I have been here almost every Saturday since November and the food has been always reliable and high quality. Staff are attentive and the wine selection is great! Even the Baco Copa Tinto is a very very nice Cabernet. I still highly recommend Baco and they have even extended the terrace in a very thoughtful way.

Amazing! Excellent food, great selection of wine and you can order by the glass. The decoration is very neat, kind of a jazz bar with a latino touch. The folks that work there are awesome and make you fell at home! Oh, the location is great, nice neighborhood!

Came here for dinner with a couple of friends, and were unfortunately very very disappointed! Asides from the extremely small and low quality portions of food, most things didn’t even come as described.. We ordered the duck (which with the cost of 1500, came with maybe half a breast.. ridiculous!), the Sea bass (3 little bites, not the filet we were expecting), the steak tartare was just ground up beef, and the Ravioli (which was actually nice seasoned) was so over cooked that it was like eating mashed potatoes.. I would’ve gladly rated it a 1 star, but the Creme brule at the end was tasty :) In short, you don’t get what you paid for. food is mediocre and overpriced, it’s a big restaurant that had next to no atmosphere, service was fair.

Swiss DNA at Baco Vino y Bistro... The owners, he Uruguayan and she Chilean met at a prestigious hospitality school in the French part of Switzerland. We visited this charming place twice and enjoyed both times a pleasant ambiance, good food at reasonable prices, and a very attentive service. A highlight was the very young, beautifully scented, refreshing Garzon Albarino white wine (2021). ⚘ This popular restaurant is open 365 days a year, from 12:00 until midnight.

If we could give more stars, we would! My husband and I stopped here both nights we stayed in Montevideo. The first night we had dinner, Italian salad, pumpkin soup with cream, and steak tartar. Everything was delicious and paired nicely with the Malbec wine. The second night, we stopped in for wine and dessert and enjoyed everything just as much as the night before. Service was attentive and helpful, given our limited Spanish, and they made us feel at home. We would highly recommend if you're in the Montevideo area!

We visited there around noon in April, 2023. We used Uber to go there from Montevideo shopping center. We were first group for them. Their foods and wines options were good sense and qualities. We are thinking this restaurant is one of best restaurant in Montevideo.

Best wine list in MVD and the best steak tartare. Also phenomenal is the flan with dulce de leche. And everything else. I think the tartare here is better than at the namesake in Santiago.

Great experience, the food and wine are well paired and the traditional French cuisine is really good

Awesome place for french food. My favourite is the "ojo de bife" which comes with a pepper sauce that is amazing. I can't handle anything remotely spicy, not even most of the pepper based dishes, but I love that sauce. Not spicy at all.

A very elegant Bistro with plenty of options for both drinks and food. Reservation is mandatory. The service is exceptional.

Friendly English speaking staff, who go out of the way to accommodate you. Amazing deserts.

Disappointed. The restaurant came highly recommended for nice selection of wine and nice food. Whereas wine selection is DECENT, pls do not EVER order gnocchi. My guest returned the first plate because her gnocchis were not overcooked but more like a paste. After the complaint about (super)overcooked gnocchi, she got a second plate - equally super over cooked. My guest ate most if if it because she was hungry. 🥺 they didnt charge the first plate bit they did charge the second one. Moreover, my guest had a running stomach. 😳

This is a great place , if you want some variety but without going too far from what's typical food in Uruguay ,this will do for you. The food was really good but the desserts were in comparison somewhat lacking. Great drinks and good service 👍

Spectacularly delicious. Everything, meals, drinks, even the bread was fresh. Very attentive service. Loved it and would love to go again as their menu was very attractive.
