Second restaurante experience in Montevideo and I must say I was thoroughly impressed. It's a small place a short walk from the main road. From afar it looks like a random eatery on a random corner, but man the food is fantastic and the atmosphere is perfect! I ate the incredible home-made chorizo tortilla and the secreto de cerdo, cooked to perfection. No pictures this time..I was focused on eating! 😄 Even the olives you get, before dinner arrives at your table, are special. Never had olives in oil with cumin before. It was definitely a hit for me. Lonely Planet had it right this time! A must-visit in Montevideo!

The neighbourhood needs more places like this. Not just places that are open (haha!) but cute, health conscious, trendy places that boost the overall aesthetic of the community. Got the hummus and a veggie toasty thing which were both yummy. My date enjoyed the meat lovers deluxe burger with the best roasted potatoes I’ve had in a long time. Had a lovely glass of wine and a delicious banana pie crumble (Banofee) for dessert. I fell in love a little bit this evening and CandyBar sure did make it sweet.

I was strolling around Durazno Road with my friend and found this cosy looking cafe. Staffs are really good and welcoming. We ordered : 1. Cafe con leche (4/5) 2. Burger Vegetarina con papa ruaticas (pure veg burger) (Vegetarian burger with potato wedges) (4.5/5) I like this place. Food is good. I have not tried other things. Food quality is really good , but need to increase portion a bit. You might feel hungry after one meal. They have good Beverage options. Please visit, enjoy the food and ambience 👍.

Simple and austere in appearance, this makes the discovery of this gem of a tiny little resto-bar in Palermo neighborhood into much more than rewarding experience. The honest food menu is small but comprehensive with gourmet twists that elevate the otherwise traditional courses to unexpected level of unpretentious quality. The original cocktails and drinks add nicely and the service is casual but knowledgeable and very kind. Great for a quiet lunch during the week or for a nice dinner or after office drinks. Place is very small so come early to avoid disappointment.

Our first experience in Montevideo/Uruguay after landing earlier today. Very cute cafe/bar, staff very busy but very friendly and accommodating despite our lack of Spanish skills. Food was great, hope to go back for drinks one of the evenings this week.

This little place feels like it should be in Paris! Cute CAFE with really tasty food and a nice atmosphere. When we first arrived the staff were not that friendly but we made friends throughout the evening. It was a lovely place to stop for food and I can highly recommend the potato tortilla.

Small place, but open earlier than most, though the earlier menu is limited to burgers, we ate and enjoyed tremendously the flavor and quality of the food. The lemonade is served with a slice of ginger and several pomegranate seeds, which added color and beauty, but also ginger helps with digestion and is an anti-inflammatory food, so it was a beautiful and a health booster. My kids ordered their burgers super plain, but the young man who took orders and prepared the burgers was quite pleasant about the few changes we requested. My burger was delicious, juicy and flavorful and with egg and delicious arugula and sweet carmelized onions adding flavor and depth. The evening menu is even more varied and we wished we had discovered this place sooner so we could come back for dinner. Recommend!

We loved our burgers (one veggie, one bacon-cheeseburger) and drinks! The whiskey sour was unconventional but delicious and the ambiance was cozy and fun!

Cozy corner hidden on Palermo. Comfort food and some gourmet/deli options. Lemonade was great!

Cozy and atmospheric. It's a tiny bar with a couple of tables outside and a couple more inside. The service is super friendly and fast, and the whole experience is like visiting a friend's bar. But what really shines here is the food. Do not be deceive by it simplicity, for the flavor is amazing and well balanced. Try not only the burgers but also the desserts, specially the "flan de coco". It is a must in Montevideo.

Portions can be improved, prices are high for the quantity they give.

The food and vibe was wonderful. The owner was around and very attentive to everyone. Nice music, quaint, and the menu definitely had love put into it. Comforting food with a bit of pizzazz. Even the lemonade had some figs and extra things. Delicious. I recommend.

Came here after it was suggested in our Lonely Planets guide and it didn’t disappoint! We were served by the lovely Grummie who was super attentive and super helpful with translating in English for us. The ambience and decor is so lovely and relaxing and very cosy. There are only 6 tables inside and the rest are outside, but we arrived at 20:00 on a Thursday evening and managed to get a table, but it soon filled up. The place is also clean including the toilets. I had the Candy burger which I have to admit was probably one of the best burgers I have ever had and we come from London! I knew it was good from the moment the waitress asked how I would like my burger cooked (medium). There was plenty enough of burger and home cooked chips. My husband had the bagel with egg and prawns. Lovely flavours only criticism he had was that the prawns were cold and not enough spice. Suggestion would be to marinate the prawns in a chilli sauce and cook to order so they are nice and hot in the bagel. Lots of drinks to cater for all tastes and they give complimentary olives when you sit down which is a lovely touch. Craft beers available are delicious and reasonably priced. Would highly recommend this gorgeous restaurant for burgers, taps or cocktails. Thinking of planning a brunch for the weekend here!

🫤 Not as good as the Google rating. Fried fish is OK, very basic food. Nothing special here. Service was good. The seating is very poor quality and not as nice as pictured, unfortunately as it is near the water but with no water views.
