This is a nice place to enjoy Japanese food. The service is great. Our waiter was friendly and bilingual. I got a burger with the best kind of meat, Wagyu. It was 510 pesos and so tasty! It came with fries that I think were seasoned with cinnamon. It was a great flavor. The California rolls were delicious too, even though the filling was different than what I traditionally see. They do charge 90 pesos for cubiertos, so you’ll have to factor this in. They also give you tempura vegetables to dip in sauces while you wait for your food. They have 5 sauce flavors and you can try them all. It’s not inexpensive but it is high quality for the price you pay.

The rice was too sweet, my fiancé didn’t like the noodle from the ramen he ordered. For our taste it wasn’t good.

The best vegan food in Montevideo. We ordered the vegan sushi platter and were presented with some of the most beautiful sushi rolls I've ever seen. High quality food with great service. Highly recommended!

One of the few places in Montevideo that has sushi rolls without cream cheese. For those who want to forgo the sacrilege of putting Philadelphia cream cheese on fresh, raw sushi grade fish, then Umami is one of the only places I have found so far that has several rolls without cheese. I always order the Tabla Tokyo which does not have any cheese in it. Sushi is pretty good although sometimes repetitive, and I love the minced ginger (just wish they would give me a lot more of it with my order). Service is standard with a nice staff, and they have a small but decent by-the-glass wine selection. The inside and outside are also very cute, modern decor making it one of my go-to dinner spots in the city.
