Wow this place is definitely a hidden gem in Montevideo and one of the best eats! It was supposed to close at 3pm but there were still people streaming in for orders. The place is pretty small so it probably can seat like 15 people max, but the waiting time is really crazy. I ordered and waited and my food almost came like an hour later. Well I guess good food is worth the wait because I really felt the meat was amazing! In the meantime while waiting it was definitely a joy watching the chef cooking the meats if you are seated at the counter seats. This place not only serve good meats, the flan is also totally to die for! I would say this is definitely my most enjoyable meal in Montevideo and also worth the two thumbs up! Highly recommended!

Such an awesome little asado place, you can definitely tell it’s a neighborhood favorite. We showed up not long after it opened with just one or two customers, but by the time we left the inside and outside seating was full! The food was so awesome. I’d never had blood sausage but decided to try it, they recommended the salt, not sweet, version. It was sooo good and moist. Thank you so much for the hospitality and the excellent food and service.

A cute and welcoming spot that is a favorite with locals, but be ready for a long wait on uncomfortable chairs when they are busy, Ive seen the reviews where folks say they have amazing and tasty beef, but my experience is that you can probably find other spots with better taste and better service

A wise colleague advised me to “eat, don’t think” when he suggested having dinner at this establishment. He was right. Thus, I pass his advice to you, dear reader… go to La Pulperia with a healthy appetite… and eat… do not think. Savor everything on the menu.

The best meal we had in Montevideo! We had the ojo de bife and asado de tira, both incredible and cooked to perfection. The pudim with dulce de leche was perfect, not too sweet, balancing each other out. The family that runs the place is extremely kind, and make you feel right at home.

Great food, highly recommend to eat steak. Excellent service, some staff speak English. Very good value compared to some other restaurants in the area.

Go for it! Incredible such as it is! An street restaurant, tiny, crowded (but organized), where you do talk and eat close to everyone from other costumers to the parrilla staff. Food is great and prices are reasonable. Even in a cold, windy and rainy day, an outside table with a powerful gas heater makes the sidewalk places enjoyable.
