New, clean and efficient. As a frequent traveler I usually find smaller hotels in South America lacking. However, the MVD Soro is wonderful blend of charm with top notch service.

Every single time my wife and I travel to Montevideo for a weekend getaway - Soro Montevideo is our first choice. The hotel is ideally located, so you would not have trouble deciding about the activities outside: A long walk along the Rambla. Taking a sunbathe at Pocitos beach. Wandering around busy city streets. Having a cup of coffee. I could not express my satisfaction with the quality of sleep at the hotel more than a simple "You wouldn't want to get out of the bed". But what makes the hotel so good is the staff. They are always welcoming, ready to help with any issue you might have, and generally make you feel at home. The entire team is doing a fantastic job - cleaning, cooking, administering. And I want to say special thanks to Mayra and Gaston for making our stays so good. All in all, I highly recommend the hotel.

Location is perhaps not the best, be advised, there is a weekly Sunday fair around the hotel and it will be impossible for a taxi to leave or pick you up right at the hotel door, you will have to walk for a couple of blocks with your luggage on cobblestone streets

Lovely hotel made better by the great service from the staff. We arrived at 06:30AM and they let us check in to our room early, then we left the next day at 06:00AM and they brought breakfast to our room 30mins before. Amazing. Thank you

A solid hotel option in this part of town, but fell short of the Hilton’s high standard due to some missed points. Upon check-in, we informed the front desk that it was our first time in Montevideo and with one night only, how should we best spend our time (nightlife, cocktails..etc.). She didn't offer any good options, and it was even more disappointing when we found out from our walking tour guy that we missed the “Museo en la noche” that took place on the one night we were in town - Dec. 8th. As far as the hotel room goes - it was modern, but the decors were pretty run-of-the-mill. The shower was very nice, with strong water pressure. Our room was facing the back of the building (not much to see), and we didn’t receive any complimentary room upgrade. We did receive a welcome drink, pastry in the room, and breakfast for being a Diamond member. There is a 24-hour small fitness center and an outdoor jacuzzi on the top floor. Even though we pre-booked a time slot for the jacuzzi at the front desk (as required by the hotel), the jacuzzi was still covered when we showed up. The breakfast was adequate - it is your typical continental breakfast, plus deli meats and scrambled eggs. The scrambled eggs were too salty for me, and I didn’t see any fresh vegetables. But they did provide freshly squeezed grapefruit juice.

Very high-quality beds and linens are extremely comfortable. A modern remodel with nice touches. Excellent shower and bathroom amenities. Right in the center of the promenade with good walking. The restaurant is proper with an excellent chef and not what you would expect in a hotel. 5 stars all around.

I can not recommend this hotel enough! From check-in to check-out and beyond the staff is immensely hospitable and beyond helpful with all inquiries. Check in was flexible and they will even hold your baggage securely if you arrive early and your room is not ready. The second you walk in you are greeted with staff that make you feel like an exclusive Hilton member and welcomed with such a well designed building. You are close to so many shops, restaurants, public transportation and especially just a few steps away from the beach!!! The hotel has a restaurant inside that is well staffed with friendly workers and good food. I’ll definitely be returning and recommending to my fellow traveler friends.

We had little to no expectations. Location is great, service was fantastic, rooms comfortable, the food at the restaurant was far better than we could have hoped for. If/when we come back to Montevideo, I will make sure to stay here!

Top notch hospitality! They really cater to Diamond members. Rooftop jacuzzi was nice and much needed. Beds were very comfortable. Rooms are clean. Bathrooms are spacious and updated. Steps from the beach. A very good value! Staff knows a good amount of English too. Breakfast buffet was fresh. Thank you!

We had a fantastic time at this hotel. Everyone was so kind and welcoming and they were able to accommodate early check in and late check out which was a major bonus for us! They also left a personalized note and chocolates for us in our room which was a really nice touch. The hotel itself is extremely well located, right across from the beach and near several restaurants. The included breakfast with gold status was delicious, but I think it would be worth the extra cost even if not included as it was so good. We felt very safe in this area both day and night, and we would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!

A super nice Boutique Hotel under the Curio Collection brand of Hilton. Ideally located if you want to take advantage of the beach or explore the city. The restaurant is unique and great and very cozy. The hotel staff is very nice and helpful. I can only recommend.

My husband and I are now back home in New York City after a wonderful, long stay at this fantastic new property -- SORO Montevideo. They took such great care of us throughout our stay. In particular, we were impressed with the outstanding team. Every person we interacted with was professional, courteous, kind, generous, and patient. We will remember them fondly. All building facilities were also in excellent, clean condition. The room was comfortable and well-equipped. The rooftop areas are beautiful and provided a great space for celebrating New Year's Eve. The restaurant is AMAZING, both in terms of lovely design and excellent quality of food. We can still taste the delicious meals that were prepared for us! Such talented chefs and attentive servers! And...the beach is across the street!!!!

It was our first time in Montevideo and had a very pleasant experience. The property was only in business for two months when we visited so there were very few reviews available but we took the chance and glad we did. Hotel staff was very welcoming and nice from checking in to checking out. We had breakfast every morning and had a few drinks at dinner so we interacted daily with the team in the restaurant as well. Overall, the hotel staff treated us like family. We stayed in a beautiful and nicely decorated room. Location was great. We walked around the neighborhood to dinners and the beach and used Uber the rest of the trip without issues. Highly recommended and would definitely come back.
