I started training here back in 2016 when I moved back home. I joined the women's kickboxing class and lost 20 pounds. Rob Richardson is a great coach and wonderful mentor. I highly recommend training with him for personals. As a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, he also holds class throughout the week for others training in BJJ and loves welcoming in new beginners. Go and try it! You won't be disappointed

I have been training here for almost three years now and so thankful I found this gym. The folks who train here are like family and you will not find any better place in the area to learn BJJ. Professor Rob Richardson is top notch and is a very skillful practitioner as well as knowledgeable instructor.

If you are looking for a place to work hard to earn what you get this is the place for you. Rob does a great job teaching jiu-jitsu. He doesn't just show you the techniques but also explains when they are applicable and when you should abandon for another technique. Every member is supportive of each other and even treat guests like family. Coach Nick also does a great job with the kids class. Would give this more stars but Google only lets me use 5.

Rob and the guys at THB are great! Clean gym, good people, great instruction. Came on Saturday for open mat at 10a-11a. Gym is Gi only (which) I liked. Definitely will be back!! If you’re in Prattville this is THE BJJ gym.

Started my Jiu Jitsu journey here, and fell in love. The training atmosphere is top notch, and everyone strives to make each other better. I recommend for anyone in the area wanting to learn BJJ at the best school in the river region area! #RJJ4lyfe

My 15 year old son and I started training here in August, 2021 and have loved every minute of it. The gym has a great atmosphere and the instruction is top notch. The amount of training opportunities and mat time is more than worth the price. The people are awesome and Rob is running a fantastic gym. This is the best place to train in the area for anyone starting or continuing their jiu jitsu journey. I'm bummed we have to leave the area, but will definitely be back!

I'm from out-of-state and travel here sometimes, so I reached out to Professor Richardson a few times and asked if I could join his class (as a white and blue belt). He's always been very welcoming and his classes are awesome. Just as importantly - all his other coaches and students are welcoming too - contentious training partners. In my mind, that speaks volumes to the culture he's built in his gym. Also, got my 20-something nephew to sign up up for BJJ and he's been training here for a while now and loves it. I strongly recommend bringing ample water (or a sports drink)!
