Llyn Coed Y Dinas is a small nature reserve nestled between the bypass and old road to Welshpool. There is a large, well kept bird hide overlooking the man made lake. There is also a large meadow area, with perimeter walk, seating area and "dipping pond". The hide is decorated with informative murals, and may be a good place to bring children. There is a reasonably sized car park but pulling back out to rejoin the main road is difficult as visibility to the right is very poor.

Visited recently - nice little nature reserve which has been created out of unused space (there is a board that tells the story of how the reserve came about). There are a few benches to sit at, a kids playground area, a sheltered look out and also a sheltered cabin sort of area with little open windows and a large window which looks out onto the main island where the birds reside. Inside the cabin, there is information about the reserve and the type of birds you may see. The car park is sufficient and is free. However... This is a nice nature reserve if you are passing by it or are already in the area, but after visiting, I wouldn't go out of my way to go there specifically. The walk around the reserve didn't even take 10 minutes it was a very short circle and both me and my partner were surprised by how short the actual path part was - plus the birds don't actually come very close so unless you have binoculars or zoom in on your phone camera you can't see them in detail. Was still a nice visit as part of our day out.

Free small nature reserve with bird hide, lake and picnic areas. Good for bird watching. There is a small circular walk with a mud kitchen for the kids, a shelter overlooking a pond and a few picnic tables. It takes less than 10 minutes to walk this level pathway.

Lovely nature reserve. Unless you're there to birdwatch or for a specific activity, don't expect to be there very long, as it is small. Fully accessible footpath.

Thought we would go gir short walk around lake - but you can’t. Difficult to find car park entrance. All you can do is 5 min walk ti look at lake through a window

Very small, only one very short circular route and one short walk to hide over looking a large lake. A fair selection of birds though. Nice if you don't have a lot of time or can't walk that far.

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Had an enjoyable ride on the railway. Nice views and interesting locomotives and rolling stock. They advise buying tickets in advance, but we didn't have any issues buying them on the day. Would happily visit again.
