Leif and Dani were more than incredible during our stay! The attention to detail from check in to check out was flawless, and you can truly feel the care they put into the property each and every day. The available fresh water, ice, snacks, beverages, and wine for purchase were all chosen on a crafted level. My son and I stayed in the Traveler’s room and the bed was such a treat to sleep on. The private bath and living space make great use of the area; no worrying about square footage here as you truly feel at home. We got to enjoy Leif’s fine breakfast menu the next day, inclusive of a classic style breakfast and a specialty shrimp and grits; both rivaled local restaurants and set us up for a successful departure. I can’t recommend Heritage House and the town of Opelika enough. We can’t wait to make a trip back with other members of our family!

We loved our room, beautiful and just lovely. My husband and I really appreciated the complimentary snacks, drinks, games, and coffee pot in the common area. We played Clue. We were happily surprised with the complimentary water. Leif was a great host. He also had great recommendations for restaurants. We loved the area, restaurants were within walking distance and we enjoyed seeing the historic homes and buildings. Breakfast was delicious. We enjoyed our stay very much and will come back!

Home and outdoor spaces were beautiful. I loved the comfort of our room and the decor(stayed in the Traveler). Thoughtful touches were all over the home. Hosts were so kind. Want to come back just to spend more time in this space. Another plus, downtown historic opelika is so close. Easy walk to cute shops, restaurants, and bars.

This B&B is immaculate. The house itself is absolutely stunning, beautifully decorated with decor that gives it a vintage feel . We stayed in the Carriage Suite which has its own private entrance. Little touches like chilled water, snacks in the room and cold drinks in the refrigerator made things very convenient. Room was very comfortable with all the amenities you need. Service was fantastic and the breakfast delicious. The couple who owns the property are very kind and made sure our experience was nothing less than first class. We recommend this for anyone looking for a place to have a comfortable stay. You won’t be disappointed this place is truly a hidden gem.

We were in town for a family visit and chose to stay at Heritage House as it is near our son's home. I'm so glad we did! Leif and Dani are wonderful hosts! The attention to detail, the well maintained rooms ( and entire building), the comfy beds, and the freshly prepared breakfasts are just a few of the things we experienced in our three night stay! Situated within walking distance of shops, restaurants, a brewery, a distillery, and other local attractions, it's the perfect spot to stay in Opelika! Turkish towels, bath robes, bed linens, all luxurious and comfortable! Self-serve snacks and drinks were appreciated as well. Each morning, a fresh breakfast was prepared (choices are offered),and served by Leif, and each were excellent! Don't miss a chance to stay at this beautiful historic inn, you'll leave feeling rested ,relaxed, and well fed!

We had a wonderful experience at Heritage House last weekend. The mansion is decorated beautifully with appropriate antique furnishings, and located in a great part of town for walking. We walked all around the charming downtown area of Opelika, which is very pleasant, and throughout the historic district all without using our car. Our room was lovely, clean and cool, and so comfortable. Breakfast was served in the pretty dining room and was delicious. We hope to stay there again!

Heritage House is beautiful. The rooms are comfortable, well-appointed, & sparkling clean. Leif and Dani are wonderful hosts, welcoming and warm. Breakfast is delicious, and all our dietary needs were accommodated. The location is great—we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go in Opelika. Auburn is a short drive.

My compliments to the owners and wonderful hosts of this beautiful property. Not only have they done a magnificent job renovating and decorating the house with taste, but they have thought of every detail that sets a great bed and breakfast from an average one. From the complimentary water to the cozy bath robes, the comfortable bed to the bathroom amenities, this is truly what a home away from home should feel like. A delicious and copious breakfast was a great start for our day (best hash browns ever!). The only negative point about this place, but the owners can't do anything about it, is the sound of the trains only one block away from the house... starting at 6 am... Startled us awake earlier than we'd have wanted. But other than that, it's an easy walk to the historic district and a couple good restaurants. I would recommend this place.

If you are ever in Opelika and need a place to stay, The Heritage House comes highly recommended. We stayed one night in The Clubhouse room. We really wanted to stay longer. Upon arrival, Leif and Dani greeted us and got us set up for our breakfast choices for the next day. She took us up to our room and had a bottle of cold water and an ice bucket full of ice. The rooms and the whole house are very clean and beautifully decorated. The bed is super comfortable, we slept very well. Walking distance to restaurants and pubs. We will definitely be back.
