Loved the food and southern hospitality!!! We had our daughters graduation dinner at Martha's Place ( a party of 31). The food was great with a continuous supply of great dishes!! Also let me mention how AFFORDABLE the event was!! Coming from South Florida, dinner events are so expensive!!! However, Martha's Place prices were definitely within our budget. I totally would recommend Martha's for dinner events and if you just want to sit down, eat and have a great time!!! Thanks again!!

I looked up "food near me" while in Montgomery and saw this place was close. I figured hey I love country buffets so let's give it a shot..... My goodness. I had no idea what I was in for. They put a little extra taste in everything they do and after my second visit today I've decided that it might be the best buffet restaurant I've ever been to. It doesn't taste "buffet".... It tastes like you're at a cookout and all of your aunts cooked your favorite dishes. This place is *****CLEAN***** and the staff is friendly. I would give Marthas 10 stars if I could.

Requires masks. Wait staff very rude, was sassed at the buffet line by a male wait staff for waiting my turn to get close to the gloves and not wanting to reach into another patron's personal space (violate social distancing) to access the gloves. Was ignored several times on drink order. Fried chicken was soggy and they do not season their okra breading. Best thing there was the sweet tea I was EVENTUALLY served and the home made ranch dressing. Poor service and very rude waitstaff, bad food. Martha's was much better when it was in the corner lot.

Great meal! That salad bar was my fav. I haven’t been to a buffet since covid, and I honestly was skeptical but they have a nice and clean system set up and it’s well enforced! Baked chicken was a bit dry but the fried chicken was very tasty. Very sweet staff and friendly customer service.

Martha's place is well known in Montgomery and we love our meat and three places. The food here is pretty good but for a meat and three buffet the options are limited. The chicken was a little dry on my last visit but had good flavor. The sides were great with a little seasoning. The service was pretty downtrodden as everyone seemed like they didn't really like their job. The health score could use some work to get up from 86, and 86 is about what the men's restroom felt like as the heat in there was just a cookin. My grand ma would be remiss if you didn't give them a try but I would still prefer other spots personally. Didn't love having to wear gloves to prepare my food either but I guess I get it

The sides were very good. The fried chicken, turkey and roast beef were solid. I had every side but the black eyed peas. The only one that could be considered bland was the mac and cheese. Everything else was well seasoned. The service was excellent. The price point for food quality and overall experience is five stars.

I'll never eat there again...none of my family or friends will never eat there again. You put a mother & her two kids out refusing to allow them to eat simply because the kids leave food on the floor. What kid doesn't drop food on the floor? It's often a big deal when it's black kids.....but let it be white kids & it's all fine & dandy......humble yourselves God see & know all

First visit. Was not disappointed. Staff was very friendly and made sure fresh food was coming out continuously. Home cooking for the non cookers. 🤣

I visited Martha's Place for the first time today and now I wish I would have went a long time ago! The food was excellent, really clean inside and friendly staff. I like that you have to wear a mask and they provide sanitizer and gloves. I will definitely return with my family.

I enjoyed eating the food so much yesterday. It was truly home-cooked food. I had a feast y'all. "The food was off the chain". I had collard greens and cornbread candied yams, macaroni cheese, beets, fried fish, chicken, rice and gravy, red velvet cake, lemon cake, pears, and lemonade. I was so full. It Be Your Own People. If you’re elderly, classy looking for a low budget diner or have a hunger for tasteless food Martha’s is your place. They don’t like kids especially kids like mine that have disabilities and are toddlers and can’t control the way they eat and some of there food drops to the floor under the table and I have asked several times while dining there to clean up my kids mess but always told no it’s ok I’ll clean it then we leave and get talked about like a dog instead of having concern for a Mother that has a disability and not able to cook at home regularly for the price of diabetic food at Martha’s I found it easier to spend that $14 +$10 tip when I have it to spare but always tip something because I know kids are messy but I have never had the look of disgust when I walk through the door at other restaurants that are not black owned and yes we are regularly at these places too but at Martha’s I knew they didn’t want me and my kids there but they finally kicked us out to not come back because toddlers are being toddlers and I know for a fact if they had been another decent they would have overlooked it and nothing would have been said or done (It Be Your Own People) that don’t have patience for u but cater to the other race we will never stick with each other I try to do the best I can with my kids and teach them right but it’s so much I can do without it being labeled abuse but as toddlers u can’t expect them to be perfect little clean people they are messy all kids are but again let it had been another race I bet they wouldn’t have denied them service

I decided to go grab a to go plate and instead dining inside… Lol! Food is fresh and the dining room is nice! I enjoyed my meal! I’ll definitely be back.

I think the price was great for a buffet. The choices were limited. Either fried chicken, baked chicken or beef n gravy. That why I gave 4 stars. The food was good. The fried chicken was a little greasy for me. The Mac and cheese was very good and green beans. They had gloves for everyone to use at the buffet. Which I really appreciated.

Upon entering the restaurant I was not greeted, we actually had a stare off. The cashier did not say a word not even a smile. She seemed annoyed to even render service. After collecting the monies for the meals, she didn’t utter a word still. No thank you, smile etc. Attitude was horrible and deplorable. I frequent the restaurant often and have experienced similar situations with the regular cashier. This type of employee should not operate in a front house position, dealing with customers. This type of service detours business.

I called almost a month in advance to have a family dinner for a party of about 20. My information was taken and the date/time was confirmed with the manager. When I and my family arrived it took quite some time for us even to be acknowledged. When someone did finally assist us, they seemed to have no knowledge that we were coming. A gentleman came and told us that we could stay, but they likely wouldn't have enough food for us. There was another large group there as well and they did not have more of most of the sides. He then told me that he didn't even work there, he just came.in to help.This was very poor communication. I had family come from different countries and states for this family dinner. At least the gentleman was able to recommend another restaurant that was able to take us on short notice on a holiday weekend.

Food is amazing! Stooped in coming from Atlanta on the way to Alabama. Best little place to eat in between atl and Montgomery I've ever found. Thanks for the great food.

First time eating at Martha's Place. I had heard many good things about it. The food was fantastic, some of the best fried chicken I have ever eaten. Chicken & Dumplings were absolutely delicious. Everything we tried on the food bar was wonderful. Will definitely return. Our waitress was also very friendly and helpful. 5+

Always love my experience at Martha's Place.. food hot, portions on point, taste 🔥, and price affordable.. not to mention that some cool folksnwork there..Wish I lived closer in order to visit more

This place was AMAZING!!!!! THE ATMOSPHERE FEELS LIKE HOME...THE OWNER MARTHA CAME AND SAT WITH OUR FAMILY AND WE CHATTED UP SOME GREAT CONVO. THE FOOD WAS PERFECT!!!! MY FAVORITE WAS THE FRIED CHICKEN MAC and cheese and the yams... please please please come by Martha's place you will enjoy yourself.

My first time visiting. The food was delicious and right on time because we were hungry after singing. The hosts were very sweet and helpful.

The food selection was very sparce, a mere miniscule fraction of the food offered at nearby Fried 🍅 Buffet & Golden Corral, but priced the same... They were not keeping the food stocked, I encountered empty bins after paying $30.00+ for myself and senior aged Mother. I was literally stunned to realize how little food they actually had on their buffet. To make matters worse, they brought out a big bin of greatly undercooked Mac &cheese...the top layer appeared cooked but when you dug into it with serving 🥄 you encountered a sluice of 🥚 and milk... totally liquid. That is a cocktail for food poisoning which is very dangerous, especially to the legions of senior citizens that faithfully patronize this dining spot. I also expected a variety of homemade desserts such as pound cake, sweet 🍠 pie, and peach cobbler but the only thing offered was an unappetizing faux 🍌 pudding and the type of pre-made cake squares served at Chinese buffets. It had been approx 6-8 yrs since I'd last tried this spot, and it was disappointing then. I won't make this mistake a 3rd time. 😑

My experience was very delightful and me and my family will be returning very soon the staff was amazing helpful courtesy always kept a smile on their face and it was a lot of guest they had everything space out my visit was just awesome thank you Martha Place Staff and I will recommend to everyone to visit the food was delicious also

Very pleasant dining experience, not crowded, friendly service, buffet well stocked and food was hot. The staff constantly monitored the buffet.

Drove up from north fl to meet family for lunch. After seeing what was available near montgomery we decided to meet at martha,s place. So so glad we did The buffet bar was right up our alley. Had all the great southern cooking items we were raised up on. Had a great selection of meats and vegetables. A great salad bar, and great deserts. On our next trip through we will definitely stop in if it's close to meal time. Waitress was very pleasant and made our dinning experience very pleasant. She never allowed our drinks to get below half full.

When I went to Martha’s a month ago, me and my family noticed some small bugs on the bar. When my mom mentioned it to me, we realized it was roaches and some were crawling on the floor I was very displeased and disappointed to see the roaches on the bar. We have not been back since seeing the roaches.

Wish I had pictures. Maybe next time. Just a basic buffet. In my opinion it's not worth 12 dollars however in today's market I can't really complain it's all you can eat. I would recommend seasoning the veggies way more . The peas needed some pork fat and salt badly and the collards could've used some white vinegar and a pinch of sugar to cut through the bitterness . The mashed Potatoes were Fire 🔥 and the fried chicken was great! Needed some hot sauce 😋. Will be coming back to try something else and will update with pictures.

Delicious authentic Southern Home Cooking. Great price! Large selection of meats, sides, salads and desserts. They require the use of hand sanitizer, disposal gloves and new plates for each trip to the buffet. They require masks when not seated at your table and will provide you one if you don't have one. Quiet atmosphere and our server checked on us multiple times to clear plates and refill drinks. This was my first trip to a Buffet in over two years and I will definitely be back. Martha's Place is very clean and I felt confident that my food was safe to consume because of the protocols put in place by the restaurant.

First of all, let’s talk about how clean it is here during a pandemic. This place is super sterile. It felt safe to be at a buffet. There were so many choices. I put a little bit of everything on my plate.

Very lovely dining room. The food was good. However, I was quite of disappointed that they ran out of rice and mashed potatoes. It took them a while to bring out a new batch and by the time they brought it out, I was done eating my meal.

Cashier not friendly. Very little items to select. Buffet was awful with food everywhere. The young at the to go counter was very helpful. Wheni visit Montgomery again this will not be one of my choices to eat at

I called and placed an order for our Thanksgiving dinner.. I have to say that everyone was super friendly when I picked up the food the day before Thanksgiving. And we were VERY pleased with all the food, it was delicious!! We will definitely be getting next year's meal from them again!!

To say that the food was incredible is the understatement of the century. If you're looking for down home soul food, this place is it. I love how they have a buffet set up (after one plate, you'll be full & can't eat anymore) and also how they strictly adhere to COVID-19 safety protocols. The staff is extra friendly and they make sure that the food never runs out. The next time I'm in Alabama, I'll make sure to come here for a meal.
