Very authentic mexican food! Very friendly people. English speaking. Be sure to check these guys out, they have a food truck that participates all around Montgomery which is delicious. They have a red sauce and a green sauce that are just awesome. the red sauce is pretty warm in the green sauce has a pretty spicy taste. They serve salsa and chips, which is usually unusual for an authentic Mexican restaurant.

Great taste, great selection, great prices. Best street tacos I've had in Alabama. Lengua was highly recommended and did not let me down. The Chorizo was just as good as it comes, barbacoa and Chicharrones were good, Al Pastor was great, and the carnitas was super tasty. I've found an inverse relationship between pricing and quality in the Montgomery area. The higher price, the more bland they are. These tacos are the cheapest but all of them are great! Tortillas are heated and grilled just enough. Salsas we're good, cilantro and onions were a bit lighter than I like, but that's easy to remedy. If you only try one taco place here, try this one.

It was the first time for me to try the REAL tacos. I had four tacos with different kinds of meat, and loved them all. Although I am not a cilantro person, I added a lot of onions in my tacos, and enjoyed them. There is a small Mexican shop right next to the restaurant, so you will be able to get delicious beverages and ice cream, too.

It’s definitely authentic with the staff being all Mexican with very little English but wasn’t too difficult to order and it was cute trying to understand each other. Staff was really nice and genuine and the food tasted handmade.

This is the best experience I’ve ever had with Mexican food. All ingredients were fresh, well seasoned and served delicious. Absolutely would travel here again.

Chips and salsa are not good, but their tacos make up for it X1000. Incredible flavor from every meat we tried, and quite possibly the best prices on town. Place looks sketch, but it is completely worth it.

Food is good, however customer service is horrible, the girls that work there act like if you ask the food for free. Never give a smile and ask you to give them tips

The restaurant was your typical Mexican food dives in Alabama. Inside, there were some Sombrero hats hanging on the walls. The interior layout looked like it had seen better days pretty much. The waitress took my order as soon as I walked in, so good customer service. My chicken tacos were good. The sauces took them to the next level in flavor. 8 out of ten

This place is a hole in the wall. But when it comes to good Mexican food, that’s a good thing ha. We all had great food and a great time

Found this place and was so happy. The food was authentic, very tasteful, large portions. Service was fast, servers awesome. Unlike Mexican American food served in the Montgomery/ Prattville area. You won't be disappointed.

So, I don’t know if it was just today. I really want to give this place a chance. All of the tacos that I ordered was dry and tasteless. Not sure if I’ll come back.

This place has never disappointed me. They are always friendly, attentive and happy to serve. The food tastes excellent and authentic. Growing up in AZ I got used to Mexican food done the right way. The bites of bring back a child like nostalgia. You know when all you had to worry about was if you had air in your bike tire and what friends house everyone was at. I highly recommend this place. It is small and cozy.

Some of the best, authentic tacos I’ve ever had! Definitely take the time to stop in and grab a bite.

This was a pretty good spot and not just for Alabama. I had the tacos: Carne asada, al pastor y lengua....and let me tell you the lengua (beef tongue) was on point. Although I do wish they had more salsa selections, the michelada, chips, and salsa were good. Must try if you want Mexican food while in Montgomery.

Fantastic food, great value, and friendly service. The salsa is homemade and tastes incredible! I got the carne asada and every part of the meal, from the rice and beans, to the salad, to the steak with grilled onions was delicious. I highly recommend dropping by Taqueria El Campesino!

I love to go here. If you don't know what to order I'd try carne asada tacos or a carne asada quesadilla on your first visit. You will be back. I usually call in, but I have occasionally dined in.

Delicious, fresh, authentic Mexican food served by friendly staff. If you’re an ignorant person who gets angry by people speaking a language other than English then please don’t plague this restaurant or people in there with you’re foul attitude.

This placed has ruined me for chain Mexican restaurants. The food is outrageously good, made with love by someone's grandmother in the kitchen. It's all fresh, you can hear the pots and pans banging. What you can't hear in the kitchen is the ding of a microwave. Authentic, and authentic atmosphere.

Make sure you check the prices on the menu and as they are ringing you up. I've been in there a couple times for a simple taco and chips and queso but today I decided to try their entrees. Ordered a kids cheese quesadilla, steak quesadilla and two queso and chips that ended up costing me $29.66. The menu showed the kids cheese quesadilla for 2.99 and entree quesadilla for 11.99 for shrimp, 7.99 and 5.99 for cheese. However, I was charged 9.99 for the steak quesadilla which isn't that bad and 7.99 for the kids cheese quesadilla. The queso were 3.99 each. And then charges 3.66 for taxes on the already overcharged 26.00 total. When I asked about the difference they said the 2.99 Is for kids which I had my daughter with me and it was for my 3yr old at home. After feeling scammed out of an extra good $9 we won't be back.

The salsa leaves a bit to be desired, but that is well made up for by the tacos. They were fantastic! From the shell, to filling, to the fresh onion and cilantro... I've not had a better street taco in the Gump, especially for the price. We will be back.

Just had the birria tacos to go. So delicious. Hot sauce is hot but tasty! Everything was great! Highly recommend!

As someone who lived in Mexico for a while I love the food! It's got a pretty great selection of different types of tacos including tripe and barbacoa among others which aren't always so easy to find in the US. My only complaint might be that it is in a sketchy spot. Though the service very quick. I got a torta de milanesa de pollo and it was huge.

Amazing quesabirrias! Their salsas were all unique and flavor-packed! Coming from Tucson, AZ I can vouch that this place brings the authentic experience!!

Nice little out of the way restaurant but not 100% authentic... servers speak Spanish, maybe a little English. Food was okay but not great, chips were store bought and food needed more flavor.

We were pretty disappointed with our experience. The first table we sat at was covered with ants. My friends were hesitant to stay, but I convinced them to because of the good reviews. The food was all a little bland and they forgot to bring out one of our drinks until the end and then they told us they didn't have the ingredients for it. I don't think I'd return.
