4.7 This place was really damn good! The appetizer tiny angel rolls, delight! Tom Kha broth was a tad spicy, but nothing to worry about. Lad Nah Wide rice noodles, Chinese broccoli 🥦 , and I choose chicken. You choose your protein. I enjoyed every tasty bite! Spicy fried rice with seafood combo for the win! Full of seafood. 🦀 was imitation, which I dislike but for the price... Thai coffee was great, still wonder what the tang was to it but will have again! Kiss the cook here! Spring rolls are going to be enjoyed later tonight! Why are you still reading this? Order your foodz!

The food was so good. The pho hit the point. The fried rice's also good. No one working in there looked asian but their food was better than some Asian restaurants in the country. The building was a bit old and hard to find. We had to look so hard and did a detour to get to it.

Excellent as always. We placed a large order(10 people) by phone for pick-up. Every order was correct and so delicious. Green Papaya never lets me down. Consistently perfect! The staff and owner are always a pleasure. I will always recommend GP to anyone looking for authentic Thai food. Highly recommend to vegetarians like me.

A family owned local business, The Green Papaya has been my favorite Laos/Thai cuisine in Montgomery. A little off the beaten path it's a must try for people who like this cultural cuisine and who can handle "Thai hot" however the do offer milder. My favorite is the Spicy Kao Pad. Inside is clean and nice even though the outside isn't nice on the eyes but that's often where you find the hidden gems. Last visit I tried the lunch special which was Garlic and Black pepper chicken with soup and a spring roll for 9.25. It was great!

Some of the best Thai food I’ve had since Bangkok! This hidden gem is a local favorite! If you find yourself on Gunter this is a great lunch stop! I ordered a noodle dish with such spice and flavor that I forced myself not to finish otherwise I’d have been sick. It’s very reasonably priced and has a sizable seating area. The service is quick and friendly. The menu has a lot of option for those who want to try something new. I ordered the Pad See Eww and honest to goodness the best I’ve ever eaten! Photo included!

I did not enjoy this rice at all. I added no less than 7 packets of soy sauce (testing after each packet) and it still tasted very bland like nothing.

Everything I've tried has been delicious! The pan fried noodles is my favorite, but I tried something new today and it was good as well! I definitely recommend green papaya! This time I tried Pad Kee Maow ! Mm mm good!

I got Pud Thai, Thai hot- it was delicious and it was extremely hot. I was very happy. It is a less sweet version just to warn you, but I liked it very much.

I've been coming to Green Papaya for years and every time it's phenomenal. This is hands down one of the best places to eat in town. There's a cozy and calm atmosphere inside, the staff is very helpful with understanding the dishes if you're not familiar with the food and of course everything is delicious. My favorite dishes are Amazing Lad Nah or beef Pho.

Outstanding! I had a rice noodle dish I can't pronounce, but it was absolutely amazing. The Thai Tea was really good. The service was a bit lacking, but it was one poor waiter who was doing great, but could've used some help. Will certainly be coming back.

Vastly different from the other Thai restaurants in town. Brings a much more authentic taste to the table. I can see why every table was full. Definitely worth the wait. Large portions and decently priced. $45 for two meals, an appetizer, and Thai Tea.

Three problems with this place. 1. The food is extremely overpriced. There is a sign that says to ask a waiter for pricing since prices on the menu have all increased. $24 for pad see ew is ridiculous. 2. This is not thai food at all. I wanted pad see ew for the flat noodle pad see ew is know for. What I got was some concoction of pad thai noodles, random vegetables, and chicken. The combination didn't work. 3. Was the food fresh? No. More like fresh from the microwave. All the veggies were limp. The broccoli was brown, the baby corn was mushy. Definitely not cooked to order. This place should be a Chinese take out and not a thai food restaurant.

Not very impressed by food… The menu did not have price. The noodle cut too short (over cooked?..) I was a bit surprise it was over $80 in the end.

Still some of the best curry and noodle dishes I have ever had. This place is one of my staples for a good meal. Stop in whenever you are nearby and you won't regret it!

Ate here 3/20/23. Great service, great food! I love that the portions are a great size. The Food was cooked to perfection. The mango on the stick rice was not as fresh. But the main course was immaculate. The Thai tea was 10/10! Amazing

I ordered the Panang Curry Chicken and they made it Thai Hot as I requested and it was delicious. So much food I needed a to go box! They also have a wide variety of other foods for those who don't want spicy.

It’s in an old strip mall so the place looks dated as well. Food is good though and the serving size is abundant. I don’t know much about Lao dishes, but it looks and tastes authentic.

The green papaya salad (Laotian-style) was amazing! We visited for lunch, and my expectations were blown out of the water. We also ordered the chicken satay and pad thai. Every bite was delicious! The staff was attentive and kind, and the food was better than I've had in major cities for a much higher price. It was clear from snippets of conversations I overheard from other tables that they have a strong local following. If you visit Montgomery and don't eat here, you will have missed a wonderful opportunity!

The Green Papaya hasn't changed its look since 1983, and that's fine by me.... because this is some of the best Thai food anywhere! You don't come here for the decor, you come here for the food! That delicious, spicy Thai and Laotian fare that you'll want again and again! I love their curries, the Tom kha soup, and the Thai chili salad! Service is excellent....same friendly folks for years. If you NEED your food very spicy, I am told that you need to ask for "Laos Hot" and then you'll be completely satisfied. Good luck with that because I like my mild spices just the way they are. You'll love this place....and you'll wonder why you never knew it existed!

My #1 lunch choice. Outstanding food. My favorites are Spicy Basil, Ginger, Panang Curry, and Thai Spaghetti. I get beef as my meat option. It's always tender and well seasoned. I opt for medium heat. Intimate setting. Friendly staff that remembers my name. They are prompt with walk in take out orders too. Every client is a priority. I love this place!

The place is old but clean. Food came out quick. The wait staff is also the owner. Very courteous, prompt and very friendly. Been coming here for over 15 years. The food is always excellent. The Pho is great. Kao pad (Thai fried rice) is our favorite.
