What an amazing place! Beautiful property with stunning views. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful or pleasant and there was just such a lovely friendly feel to the hotel. Very dog friendly too. We ate dinner and breakfast there and both were super, with locally sourced products. Bar had a good choice of gins and was very reasonably priced as well It’s always a good sign to see a hotel being used by locals. A definite must for a visit.

We were staying in the area and so decided to eat here on Friday evening… wish we hadn’t bothered. We chose the tapas menu, which was a big mistake. First of all, the food came out and the waitress spilled all of the oil from the mushroom dish all over the table in front of me, covering my plate and cutlery. She left, with no apology and I was left to clean it up using my napkin. I can honestly say it was the worst tapas ever I’ve ever eaten… so far from what the dishes should have tasted like (having visited Spain regularly and tasting the real thing!). The paella was more like a stodgy, tasteless risotto and the churros… well, I could’ve broken a window with them, they were so hard and dry! We left feeling rather disappointed!

Attended the Tapas Night on 27th October 2023. Food was fantastic and service was great. Was like being back in Spain but better. Would high recommend Mellington Hall and always worth a visit.

Ordered food, took an hour to come. And when it did arrive, it seemed to have been sitting on the pass for a very long time. Bed was so soft that even after walking for several hours it was hard to sleep - not aided by the glare from security lights around the building. We were walking a section of Offas Dyke, and this was our most expensive (and worst) night’s stay.

My partner and I went for the tapas menu, and it wasn't the best. Which is quite surprising as their restaurant menu is really nice. It hasn't put me off going again, though.

Follow Mr & Mrs R on TikTok. This is a fabulous location, to get away from it all. It’s a beautiful building, loads here to keep you busy. Very dog friendly. Quality of the food, was excellent along with the smiling and helpful staff. It’s just a shame that the house looks expensive to maintain and unfortunately our room was tired, and needed to be cleaned more throughly. Overall definitely recommend.

Had an exceptional afternoon tea here after a bracing day out in the valleys. Staff couldn't be more helpful and the food was top notch.

What a beautiful place to stay! We arrived at the end of a very busy day after having travelled for what seemed like hours and were greeted with this amazing house and a warm welcome from staff. The entrance hall and dining areas were really warm and just what you want when you need to relax. Dogs are made very welcome and added to the ‘family home’ feel of the Hall. Our twin room was light and airy with the most amazing high ceilings and a very pleasant view. Food was very nice and there was plenty of it - it’s good to note that they use free range chicken and do not charge extortionate prices for it! We will certainly be back to stay and look forward to another relaxing and welcoming stay.
