A nice quiet place to stay. I left my window open all night and had a quiet nights sleep. Room was comfortable and suitable for a night's stay. Bedside lights have two USB-B charging ports on each lamp base! Food was honest pub grub with a good choice. Breakfast was nice and overall prices are superb. Will definitely use again when in the area.

What a little gem of a place this is. The owner Jackie couldn’t do enough to please and is a lovely person. All the staff are courteous, friendly and very helpful. The en-suite (fab shower!)room was lovely, clean tastefully decorated and the huge bed was really comfortable. The breakfasts (included in price) were cooked and presented very well. Bacon and sausages were top quality. All this for £62 per night…..amazing! Evening meals were the same quality. Loads of choice on the menu. So thank you Jackie and co. for making our stay so enjoyable. *****

Stayed for 4 nights , car park at the side only fits about 4 cars. There's parking outside and at the museum next door. The landlady is really friendly, I was in room 2 now room was big, warm, very clean, loads of pillows, TV works fine, wifi is good, the bathroom is immaculate, extract fan works , (clean too) Price includes breakfast (served from 7am) so the bacon is really thick like gammon, orange juice cold, filter coffee from your cafe tiere. Note no food served on Mondays. Will be rebooking

We stayed at the Talbot Hotel for 2 nights. The food and service were exceptional and the staff couldn’t have done more for us. Powis Castle is only 20 minutes away, we would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.

Spent a lovely week here. Helpfully and friendly staff. Very comfortable but basic room in a classic old country pub in a beautiful spot by the river. Breakfast tasty. Jackie is lovely. Happy to return.

Lovely spot, very accommodating for last moment rooms. Staff are awesome and versatile, adapting to changes in plans. Food was amazing and the real ale very well kept.
