I started to train at GB West Island not even a year ago, I can't explain how that was the best decision of my life. I visited few BJJ gym but no one is comparable to Gb West Island. It's literally for everyone. So many classes a day, even opens on the weekends. You really have no excuse to not go to train. Classes for kids, beginners, advanced, very advanced, competition classes.. we also have one of the best professor in the world. Glen is full of jokes, but also very serious about bjj. I became a bjj competitor at my first year. Partners are like family. The other coaches are very great, experienced, nice.. if you want to train Bjj, this IS the place for you!

Gracie Barra West Island has amazing coaches and competitors with great knowledge and technical ability. Kids and adults classes everyday for all levels in a safe and friendly environment. If you live in the area, do yourself a favor and take advantage of the free trial they offer. Bring your kids too and watch their confidence soar!

Joined GB west over 2 year ago. I was welcomed to a great supportive team, a great place to learn and get in shape. Very inclusive and fun environment. I have made a lot of good friends here, really makes you feel apart of the greater GB team. The professors and coaches are professional, personable, and have a great taste in music. This is an awesome place to train and I couldn't recommend more.

Glen and the Gracie Barra West Island team are phenomenal and run a tight ship. I've been lucky enough to have trained Jiu Jitsu around the world, and the instruction and facility, as well as training partners, are all world class. Fantastic for kids, beginners and seasoned competitors alike, GB West Island will help you take your Jiu Jitsu to the next level. Cannot recommend highly enough++++++

Location is closed. Nobody seems to answer the phone or email. No indication on website that they’re closed. Drove to their center and found an abandoned building. They mentioned a while back on their facebook page that they’re relocating to a bigger facility, but no updates so far. Based on the reviews and from what I’ve heard, it would have been a great place to train, but please improve communication.

Certified Black Belt Brazilian Jiu Jitsu instructors. Classes 7 days a week for kids and adults. Bullyproof, summer camps and after school programs with pick up and drop off shuttle. All instructors habe been background checked and cpr certified. World class competition team. Free parking, showers and weight lifting section. No contracts!! You can cancel or freeze your memberships at anytime with no penalties! Just an incredible place to train martial arts in the west island!!!

Amazing place for BJJ, super clean everyone is really nice there. Vibe is awesome, everyone looks out for each other and are very patient. Glen is a great coach, a true professional in the sport.

Can't say enough great things about the team out in the West island. Glen is not only a master of his craft, but has a genuine interest in seeing his students grow and succeed. Other students are friendly and helpful which keeps you coming back.

Absolutely love training here. Very clean and professional. I also like how they check for temperatures at the door. I’m 50 years old and I’m glad they told me it’s never too late to try BJJ! Changed my life. Thanks for everything guys!

I dropped in for a session from the west coast and was very impressed by Professor Glen’s knowledge of Jiu Jitsu and also the structure of the class! You could tell the students that were there knew bjj really well too! If you want a good place to train in the area this is it!

My time at GB West Island has been great. I learned new techniques and different setup perspectives. A big thank you for showing me that a "martial arts family" is very much a real thing and you really do take care of each other.

Everyone is welcoming and very friendly, the coaches are really knowledgeable and their teaching methods are easy to understand and follow. I have been training here for over a year now, as one of the masters (30+) and I really like that they have classes that are tailored for different skill levels. Also, they have an excellent kids program, which my two boys are apart of. They get to learn in a safe way and at the same time have a lot of fun. Glen Mackenzie has created a real jewel of a jiu-jitsu school here in the West-Island!

One of the best grappling school I have ever been in. From the moment you step foot on those mats Glen and the team make you feel welcome.
