Lovely walk around this park. It's quiet and you bag have picnics here. Absolutely love the lake. It needs a lot of TLC. Garden needs a huge maintenance. The pond and lake is abit smelly. Grass and plants need trimmings. Toilets need to be regularly cleaned too. But I would definitely come here again. It's very relaxing

It's a very nice place. Quiet and calm, a lot of beautiful water bodies. Ducks roaming and enjoying water. An hour of walk is good to explore it all, but one can spend more time relaxing in the very many green spaces there. There's a creek flowing near some restricted area. There are also some small wooden bridges closed for public access for maintenance.

It is a great garden to visit for the weekend, especially during autumn for nice yellow leaves on the branches, all over the ground and pond surface. It will be an enjoyable walk with friends or family members, breathing fresh air with nice scenes. Finding parking could be challenging during the busy period of time (weekend and autumn season). We ended up parking on the side of the road, walking back on a muddy road with no dedicated path for pedestrians is a bit scary, especially curved road parts.

A nice garden with different flowers ๐Ÿ’ and trees. Keep walking until to button there is beautiful lake and falls. There arenโ€™t enough parking ๐Ÿ…ฟ๏ธ spaces and the parking is other side of road. It is dangerous for pedestrians and especially with kids to cross the road. The cars are driving fast. It could hurt someone. If the government could make parking it will be easier to get.

Stunning location!! It is great for family day trip or need a forest place to walk and talk then you found it. Free entrance, toilet accessible, charity is very welcome which located in little box at the entrance. Car park is a little challenging but you will find a spot when getting there .

Dog walk ๐Ÿฆฎ I really love bringing my fur babies for a walk on these beautiful special gardens. I think my dogs love the best her is dogs on leads so they can safely interact have a sniff and walk on without fear ๐Ÿ˜จ dogs social really have unusual social skills ๐Ÿ˜‚Overall tis is a very popular place even though out the week, but still well worth the drive. There are good picnic areas including a large gazebo but on weekends you will need to get in early, plenty of parking but does again fill up on weekends, there is also well maintained toilets, this really is just a beautiful relaxing place and much love and passion went int their construction many years ago.๐Ÿ˜Š๐ŸŒŸ

First visit to this garden. Very beautiful and massive garden. Not enough carpark tho. Otherwise it is a good garden to have a relax day away from city stress. It has a map on entrance for guidance. Also has public toilet on few spots. Be aware of the steps and steep on the way back. But overall it was a great experience. Very much recommended.

One of the most beautiful places i have visited. The scenery is amazing, there are several types of plants and flowers as you walk the trails. There are waterfalls and lakes that is straight out of a fantasy story. The air is refreshing and there is something for you in every season, beautiful flowers and greenery in spring and brown falling leafs in autumn.

Beautiful gardens to wander around. They were set into a hill, so I imagine for those who find walking up hills uncomfortable then they may want to not venture too far down! Going up, even on a cool day broke a sweat for me!

Gorgeous gardens hidden in the hills. The entrance is a little confusing to find if you've not been there before. From the car park, (opposite side of the road) walk out the main driveway/entrance, cross the road, turn left and walk down 50m. The entrance gates are huge and grandiose. It's easy to mistake the entrance for houses. #3 is opposite the car park. (This is a private property.) Walk down to the lake takes about 10 mins and is 700m from entrance, down hill. Steps and ramps exist making this accessible for the handicapped.

Really lovely gardens, and great for an on-lead walk with the dog! Quite a few areas to explore, with plenty of bridges, logs and water features scattered around. The lake/pond area is stunning, and great for a small picnic and a sit-down. Grounds are kept really well, and a lovely place to take the dog overall!

Beautiful gem of a garden in the heart of Dandenong mountain. There are neat little tracks and pools to visit and see that are very good for photos. However the path to the main lake was quite rocky and a little difficult for parents with prams to bring babies. Thereโ€™s quite a bit of parking outside which is convenient. Perfect place to visit for a relaxing day trip with a nice lunch and Melbourne coffee at the nearby town Sassafras. Perfect for tourists and locals. Will definitely visit again!

These gardens were very beautiful with their well maintained paths and nice neat gardens. The lake was a feature of the gardens as well as the Arboretum. It is a great place to bring the family for a quiet stroll through the gardens. The public toilet was clean, there was also picnic tables and the only bad thing was that the carpark was way too small.

It's a beautiful garden amidst the Sherbrooke forest. It's great for children and dogs. Most of the autumn leaves had fallen when I visited but it would have been lovely to see them. Grey venue for weddings!

Headed to the Dandenongs, yep still all about tourists except for our first visit to the Alfred Nicholas Gardensโ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆ..WOW! A walk down to the lake is the highlight. Good paths but steep all the way down. Absolutely worth the effort.

The place is great for a nature lover. there were many plant species in this site. there were small water falls in this place which had soothing sound. there was a boathouse in here. however, the lake around the boathouse needed some cleaning as it was stinking to walk around the lake. even the bridge in the lake was closed for maintenance. There were few sites too which were closed for maintenance . apart from these there were beautiful places to take pictures. the parking is not that big so better to come in the morning as it might get busy during afternoon. will definitely visit this place again

What a crying shame that this has been left to disintegrate. Itโ€™s a beautiful spot and will continue to be a beautiful spot as nature takes it back but it could be so much more. Thereโ€™s a hint of a sculpture park and the odd pile of bricks where the park was once more. This could do with being added to, get local artists to create rotating pieces for different areas of park, give visitors a path to follow. The lake shack could do with a small cafe with seating. The waterfall has a little alcove, Iโ€™ve seen grottos built into these at other estates. This one is just a dark locked corner. Looks like the estate house has been bought and will hopefully be a beautiful resort by 2025. Thereโ€™s huge potential here but as it stands itโ€™s a nice free walk through the trees. Hope to see this improve in the years to come.

This is one of the really beautiful and well kept gardens in the Dandenong Ranges. I've been here twice and would go again because it's just a nice garden to walk through during summer and autumn in particular. It's quite cooling inside there and a nice hideaway on hot days. I reckon signage could be better to let you know what to expect at different locations of the garden as it is a rather big place to walk around. I don't think I've seen everything yet as you can lose your way around the deeper you go.

Cool gardens in the dandenongs. Parking isnโ€™t the most obvious but easy Once youโ€™ve been here before. Nice for an afternoon stroll. Bring your camera and hiking boots if you go off trail. Some of the spaces were closed off due to some reason? Not sure. Either way, nice place to go to to get out of town.

Beautiful gardens, enough space for picnics if you walk down to the arboretum or the lake. I really enjoyed the grassy areas. Great area for short walks too, a little bit steep going back up but no hazards so it's easy to walk through. Would definitely come back here in autumn to enjoy the beautiful change of colours!

A delightful oasis of trees and flowers not far from Ferntree Gully. We visited in mid-October and were fortunate to find rhododendrons still in bloom. My first sighting of the handkerchief tree.

It is a lovely walk around the place & just a nice natural in some parts of a garden. We took a pram there was bumpy & we had to walk the long way just coz we couldn't take the pram down the stairs. Would be nice if they renovate the old homestead into a venue where people could have there wedding. I would definitely go back here & recommend it to anyone who want to just get out and take a walk.

Itโ€™s really refreshing seeing the natural beauty and those green tree view. Everything is so beautiful and catch my eyes. It was an easy and simple walking trail for 700m. Thereโ€™re easy toilet and parking. Itโ€™s perfect to walk your dog and it also had water fountain for your paw friends. Recommend place for spring, autumn, and summer.

I really loved the garden. Can tell it's a fun spot for locals to dwell leisurely. Friendly to pets and children. I ended up getting lost on a path that it didn't show on the map. Could use more maintenence but overall was a fun walk through! Some steep areas, and the paths were a bit rocky and slippery so you will want to wear good shoes with strong soles. I wore foam shoes and I was worried about getting a rock stuck in them but thankfully it didn't happen. Lots of shade and placed to sit. Good time : )

A stunning location close to Melbourne! It is great for family day trip or need a forest place to walk and talk then you found it. There are lots of tracks and pools to visit that make for some great photography locations. It is pram friendly, but some of the tracks are quite steep. Car park is a little challenging (across the road) as it is small. Getting there early is recommended.

Beautiful location for or a relaxing day with nature. The gardens can be quite busy, but due how big they are overall, it's not too noticeable. Car parking can be a bit of a struggle on busier days, so be prepared to attend early or run the chance of needing to wait for a spot!

A well-known place for uphill walking exercises and photography with the famous boat house. The garden features many steep slopes and stairs that will get you some intense climb. In the summer this place is full of big mosquitoes that wonโ€™t die on your first lap, and flies. In the autumn the place is picturesque, but may be a bit crowded then.

Alfred Nicholas Memorial Gardens is a beautiful space with an interesting history. Not a huge garden that you can easily get around in an hour or two. Has a nice pond section, large trees and a few different paths. Some local animals like ducks to break up the trek too and some good spaces for a picnic too. A nice relaxing visit to enjoy some nature

Beautiful garden if you go on a sunny day especially in spring with different flowers in season. The lake is at the lowest part of the garden about 700m from entrance and the walk is a bit strenuous for the elderly. I usually take the stairs down to the lake which is much quicker, then return slowly up via the winding path. This place is also dog friendly and there is a restroom near the lake.

Beautiful tress ponds and a great place to look at mountain ash underplanted with deciduous planting,, gorgeous man made lake, and ponds, set the gardens off Beautifully. Paths are well kept and in good order, some are steep, but if chosen correctly there are less steep alternatives, would highly recommend the gardens that are in the area. Parking can be hard to get on busy days

We were here on a downcast autumn day so it was perfect for a mostly leisurely walk around the garden, lake and boathouse. The car park is across the road so be careful with traffic. There are slopes and steps to get to the boathouse, which is challenging for elderly and those using walking aids.

It's a really pretty location, dogs are allowed on leash and the setting is gorgeous! The only down sides are that the garden wasn't as big as I was expecting it to be and it also can get very busy and crowded (so can be tricky for nice photos and to have that peaceful atmosphere).

Really enjoyed the short but peaceful walk around these gardens. You do need to be quite fit or at least not struggle with steep uphills/downhills at certain sections of the path but there are hand rails where needed. Keep a close eye on young children as well because there are a few steep drops but there were plenty of families enjoying the warm weather and many places to sit down for a picnic as well. I'd definitely recommend a visit!

Smaller than I thought, very easy access, disable friendly with ramps. Beautiful scenery, nice and quiet (at least when we were there). Good for beginner photographer who wants to tune their skills. Also with the very iconic shed/house by the lake, it's a very recognisable place for your online audience.

Absolutely magnificent garden, To have owned this would have been an honour, The mansion was built in 1933 and since then has a had a colourful life, Though such an old building would still have some amazing tales to tell if restored to its former glory, Set on thirteen acres with an arrange of different plant species. It is a must see, Beautiful for a pinic or just to breath the crisp clean air, Public amenities available within gardens.

If you are looking for an enchanted look and feel garden, Alfred Nicholas Memorial Garden is the place to visit. Parking is available opposite the entrance. It is around 900m downhill to the Lake where the historic boathouse is located. There is nothing much at the boathouse. But the mere sight of the ancient trees, the clear air around you, is well worth the visit.
