Receptionist aren't very friendly, borderline rude. Doctor Wilmot was rude, barely listened to me and talked over me before he rushed his diagnosis. Definitely not attentive or thorough. Asked for a referral to get the 5 free physio sessions. That everyone's been telling me about, my (partner included), because I'm a carpet layer and often have a sore back and knees. He refused, said they don't give free physio anymore you have to be deathly ill for 6 months to get it he said. Will not be returning.

I'm not one to write negative reviews, but I have to say that "Dr" John Jory is the most hopeless excuse for a doctor. Do not put your health into his hands. I went in with serious health concerns and he proceeded to joke about it. He didn't make any suggestions as to what the cause of my symptoms may be, and showed absolutely no genuine concern or interest in finding out more. I was in front of him for about 2 minutes, listened to him mutter incoherently, and then sent on my way with a blood test referral (which I had to ask for). I'm sorry, but he should retire before his negligence causes harm to someone. I'm sure there are other doctors here that deserve more than 1 star but John Jory is not one of them.

Average rating is not representative of the high quality of service. If it was poor in the past it has certainly improved. Booking in and checking in was seamless, my appointment with Dr John Jory went well, and upon checkout the receptionists were very helpful in ensuring that everything was billed correctly. I will certainly be making this my regular Bulk Billing GP. Also takes DVA White card for those wondering.

I think most these doctors run from a practice they haven’t left since the 1950’s. I have been here to see four different doctors and all so incompetent and rude. They don’t take the time, or even try to look into the issue you go in to see them for. Go to any other clinic even if it means paying, because the service you’ll get elsewhere is far better. These doctors clearly don’t research or or expand into their practice to keep with the times. Some doctor recommended the hardest form of Antibiotics for a swollen lip to me. I went to see my usual clinic when they had availability and she was appalled they’d script me that as only people with pneumonia would be taking this. Never again Betta Health

Got a referral letter from my doctor which was great! However, I called the service who told me they needed my doctor to fax it (a bit old school, but fair enough). Rang Betta health to ask for my doctor to call so I can tell him this and they said it will be a $85 fee. She didn't even want to isten nor did she show any empathy. So hard to get the support you need.

Had a bizzare experience here- came in for a simple vaccine inquiry and felt very talked down to and rushed the whole time. In the end, I agreed to get a vaccine which they were out of stock of. I asked for a prescription to buy it elsewhere and was told to call the next day. When I called, the receptionist told me the doctor wasn’t even in that day. I understand this practice seems very busy, but I was shocked how difficult and unpleasant a simple request has been. Looking at other reviews it seems like a lack of respect and organisation is a common problem here.

I made an online booking with Dr Wilmott. I arrived at the appointed time and went straight in for the consultation. I found him to be friendly and attentive to my needs. He gave a thorough explanation of the purpose of the medication prescribed. The whole experience was very positive.

My doctor did not care to see my symptoms and misdiagnosed me. I went in pain to check my tailbone. The doctor did not even see and prescribed me higher dosage of anti-inflammatory medication. I questioned further and asked for xray but they said that is not required, even for broken tailbone patients (that was odd but I trusted cos they are a doctor) Anyway I should have trusted my gut feeling and gone to somewhere else. I booked and arrived on time and yet I waited for 1 hour to my appointment. Thanks for wasting my money!

Didn't have the best experience here, both times. My first appointment was in relation to a women's heath check up. I wasn't given a little sheet to cover myself up with, so I felt very uncomfortable. The doctor also took a short private call in the middle of my appointment. My second appointment was a telehealth appointment. I was not aware that I had to call the clinic myself rather than them calling me prior to the appointment to make payment, before the doctor could see me. If I hadn't contacted them I would still be waiting for my appointment. Also telehealth appointments are $75, more than the standard $65 for a non telehealth appointment.

The reception staff were not the friendliest or very welcoming. They were not however rude. They all wore their masks under their noses which I did think was pretty brave considering the setting. The Male doctor I had an appointment with was lovely. He was kind, thorough and explained things well. I would definitely use his service again for my medical condition.

Friendly and efficient process. I had my flu shot there and all went well. The nurse could have perhaps communicated why there were sometimes long delays between patients going into the treatment room, but apart from that the whole process was very well managed.

Rudest staff ever encountered. Well and truly time to find a new clinic. I also went for a blood test recently where the man doing it opened the door and filled out the paperwork with a pair of gloves on that were then used to administer the injection. The pad that my arm was rested on was stained and ripped. This has left me paranoid that I could have potentially caught somthing during my visit. Honestly appalling.

The dr herself is nice and good But I hate going there as every time I had to wait for an hour over my booked appointment to be seen. Today after waiting for 40 minutes, I went and asked and she told me that I have been ticked that I've been seen. They definitely need to change their booking system.

I never usually bother to write reviews, but this place really does deserve one. Beautiful clinic and super friendly receptionist. Dr Barbara was the most caring, patient and knowledgeable doctor I’ve ever visited. Definitely recommend coming here!

As a previous reviewer wrote, when it was bulk billed you could overlook how terrible the experience was. Wait times are extremely long, which makes one question the point of making an appointment, let alone paying $75 for it. The reception staff are under-resourced and run off their feet at best, and incompetent and rude at worst. When I had COVID, I insisted on booking a Telehealth appointment and made several follow-up calls as the doctor had not called me for a considerable time later than my appointment time. Each time the receptionists gave their version of why I had not been called, including that they "don't do" Telehealth appointments, that they mistakenly thought it was an in-person appointment that I did not show up for, or that procedure is the doctor could not call me until they had taken payment first (how was I to know?) Then trying to have my medical certificate emailed to me was another ordeal; it seems only the manager knows how to use a scanner and email, but I waited a few days because this manager is not there full time. I had a similar experience last Friday. I called a few times and was assured by 2 receptionists that they would personally ensure my medical certificate, which I needed to provide urgently (within 4 days) due to an exam, would be emailed to me by COB. I was also told the manager would be in on Sunday. It is now Sunday and I have been calling all day but there is no answer, not even a voicemail; it simply rings out. They are supposed to be open until 4 pm today. Tomorrow is a public holiday so it is safe to say I will not have my certificate in time for the 4-day deadline. Even if they refund my consultation fees it would not come close to making up for the detriment this has caused. I certainly will not go there again and as a previous reviewer wrote, I am surprised this place still exists - but I would like to add that I take consolation from the fact that it likely will not exist much longer if they continue to run their business in this way.

Visited this practice this morning. Paid $75 and was in and out in 5 minutes. The doctor didn't assess me, just listened to my symptoms and recommended I seek help elsewhere. I am not from Australia so funds are limited and I am concerned about having to contact my insurance regarding health matters, which is what he suggested I do as he recommended an ultrasound. I don't feel at all reassured about my health concerns and am now $75 worse off. Should have read the reviews before visiting this place! Very upset my this experience. I want my money back!

One of the few places that I was able to get a short notice appointment at on a Sunday. Bulk billing not offered on weekends, but to be expected I guess. Dr Saba Movassaghi was a nice fellow, clear in his diagnosis, and professional. Recommended.

Not even good for emergencies. I was hit by a car a block away and when I went in they just told me they don't do xrays and didn't bother saying anything else to me, I just had to assume that was the end of the conversation. This very much reflected the GP manner I've experienced in the past also. Completely done with this inhumane place.

After years living in Brunswick area I have finally found a GP I feel comfortable with talking about mental health or any other health issues, and that has to be Dr Saba Movassaghi. Most caring doctor I’ve been to in my 8 years in Australia. He ask about previous appointments and health improvements. Always offers options for you to pick what you’re comfortable with.

This clinic has on two occasions left a really sick patient in the waiting room for well over an hour after their booked appointment time. On both occasions their appointment has been ticked "attended" during the waiting period when that wasn't the case. Whoever is responsible for ticking attended needs to be held accountable for their substandard work. Unacceptable! There is a nice reliable doctor here hence the two stars instead of 1.

Terrible experience. I came in with an injured ankle and walked through the clinic (on instruction of the receptionist) with tears streaming down my face because my ankle was in so much pain. No one offered to help. I asked for crutches, and they told me to walk next door (again - walking was incredibly painful) and try the pharmacy instead. Completely lacking any empathy or human care. Never been more disappointed in a doctor clinic.

I see Dr Naidu and I find her to be caring, kind and very thorough.. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a good local doctor.

The receptionist advised me that my appointment with the Doctor was about 15 minutes late. Because I had another appointment somewhere else and I only wanted some prescriptions and the receptionist helped me and contacted the Doctor who in turn seen me straight away.

Highly recommend Brunswick Betta Health. Reception staff are wonderful, my doctor is always on time for my appointments and really understands how to work 'with' patients to understand and improve their health and wellbeing. Location is convenient, despite tricky parking situation, and having pathology on-site is super handy.

Dr Boltin is very caring practitioner (as well being a good and knowledgeable Dr). It can be difficult to find a dr in a big health centre that feels personal, especially when you only visit a couple of times a year.

Efficient reception for first time visit. Took my USB medical history and added it immediately to my file so GP could access. Doctor on time, efficient and friendly. So happy I found this bulk billing service right on the tram line.

Waited for over an hour for my appointment, then the doctor barely spoke English so didn't understand what my diagnosis was or how the treatment should work. Doctor also then complained about his previous patient when finally bringing me in, totally unprofessional. Avoid if you actually want a solution (and a timely one) to your medical issue.

The process of booking an appointment with Dr. Whiteside at Brunswick Betta Health, from the initial call to the actual appointment, was incredibly smooth and hassle-free. I want to express my sincere gratitude to Dr. Whiteside and the receptionists for providing exceptional and friendly service that made my experience truly enjoyable.

Always happy with Brunswick Betta Health. Booked yesterday, in today at 10.00am (15 minutes late though). Saw Dr. Markabawi whose been there for years and always wants to genuinely help. Very thorough and explains his advice well.

DO NOT GO HERE. Appalling medical service. The so called Dr barely spoke to me and didn't even bother looking at me. He rushed me out the door in less than 5 minutes (of a standard 15 minute consult) with 2 prescriptions in my hand for serious medications and didn't bother explaining them. Gave me zero medical advice. He couldn't care less, just wanted to churn through patients and take his patient's cash (no bulk bill). Worst clinical experience I've ever had. Most doctors are very old and seem to have no idea about modern medicine.

Average clinic. Wait time is very long for quality of health care. Staff (most) are friendly and majority of practitioners are good. Poor for women's health. Do not come here if you are a woman seeking gynecology treatment.

  • 4/5 Declan B. 1 year ago on Google
Others may not have had a good experience here but mine was fine today - I did have to wait about 10 mins to speak to someone when I rang but they were able to get me an appointment in 1 hours' time in the middle of the day (rang at 12pm, appointment at 1pm). When I arrived I did have to wait 10-20 minutes after my appointment time to see Dr Michael Wilmott, but he was very efficient and helpful in giving me a medical certificate for work as I had the flu. As a new patient I had to pay $75 with an immediate $39.75 rebate, so $35.25 out of pocket. Existing patients pay $65 with the same rebate, so $25.25 out of pocket. Seems this clinic is a good place if you need an appointment at short notice. As others have mentioned it seems they're busy so expect to have to wait.

I’m a fairly new patient at this practice. It encompasses a wide range of services. The attention, care and treatmentI I received has been of a high standard. have found all members of staff to be thoroughly professional. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this practice to others.

I give this clinic this rating because I like Dr Markabawi so much. However who is the practice manager? Are the hours on the website accurate? On the voice message it says to refer to the website for hours, but has your website being updated in recent times? It’s not acceptable to keep people waiting on hold indefinitely because they believe that your clinic is still open, when it is not and no one is actually going to answer them. Basic courtesy is to advise your patients of accurate hours. Also do not refer people to a website. Some of your patients are elderly. They are already on the phone waiting for an human voice and you’re referring them to a computer. Some can’t or it’s not convenient to jump on a computer. It’s not hard to give hours in a voice recording.

Booked online, showed up early, checked in and then got called on my phone while in the waiting room and was told I had booked Telehealth after waiting 20 mins (checked my booking and it was not Telehealth). Waited another 30-40 mins after being rescheduled with another doctor. My partner visited earlier in the week and signed in and after an hour of waiting was considered a DNA. A patient while I was there had been waiting 40 mins and asked about when they would be seen. A busy practice and I understand the pressures of clinic (am in the medical field) but clearly something is fundamentally wrong with the way this practice is running.

Terrible Medical Centre - Doctors and staff are rude & have zero care factor for their patients. I definitely do not recommend anyone to come here. I got told off today by my GP, when I asked for my regular scripts/medication. I have no idea why my GP has to yell at me when I ask for a prescription.

Have been coming to this clinic for a few years now and have never really had any issues getting an appointment. Staff always seem very efficient and happy to help. Dr. Khoosal has been my GP from the start and has helped me tremendously with all of my health concerns. Shame they don’t fully bulk bill anymore but that’s just a sign of the times. Thanks for everything Brunswick Betta Health!

Brunswick Betta Health is a well established medical center in Brunswick. Easy to get there by public transport too. Most of the time you can get an appointment with a doctor if you call early in the morning. I highly recommend seeing Dr Khoosal - 'He is one of the best doctors there!'

Consistently reliable. I’ve seen a half dozen doctors there over the past 20 years; primarily Dr Naidu and Dr Boltin. Good opening hours, even on weekends, tram stop right in front and close to Barkly Square, easy parking.
