The
Beacon
Theatre
is
an
old
gem
that
is
a
step
back
into
old
world
charm.
The
staff,
concessions,
and
event
management
were
sadly
disappointing.
The
experience
was
one
step
above
arriving
at
an
airport
and
being
ushered
through
security,
customs,
etc.
We
opted
to
attend
a
pre-show
meet
the
artist
add
on.
It
meant
we
needed
to
be
outside
the
theater
by
4:30
to
ensure
we
could
attend
the
event,
it
also
meant
once
in
the
building,
if
we
left
we
could
not
reenter.
The
preshow
was
advertised
as
open
seating
-
staff
barked
at
us
and
others
who,
once
on
the
theatre
stepped
outside
of
the
line.
After
the
preshow,
we
were
ushered
out
of
the
seating
area
to
stand
in
the
hall
-
cold
air
blasting
everyone
someone
entered
from
the
front
or
rear.
Concessions
were
limited
to
salty
snacks
-
chips,
nuts,
and
pretzels;
and
a
couple
is
sugary
things
-
twizzlers
and
some
chocolate.
When
I
asked
an
attendee
about
the
“small
plate”
that
was
listed
on
the
digital
display,
she
said
“I’ve
been
here
two
years
and
we’ve
never
had
that.”
We
were
let
back
into
the
seating
area
after
hanging
around
n
the
lobby
for
an
hour.
An
unpublished
warm
up
band,
part
of
a
charitable
contribution,
blasted
rock
music
-
which
would
have
been
fine
if
we
had
planned
on
attending
a
rock
concert
-
which
we
were
not
and
would
not.
After
a
check
presentation
and
applause
all
was
quiet
for
nearly
50
minutes.
The
7:30
show
actually
began
at
8:38
-
which
would
have
been
fine
had
it
been
announced.
Or
had
there
been
decent
food,
or
had
we
been
allowed
to
get
something
to
eat
elsewhere,
or
had
the
staff
simple
not
been
so
rude.
Well
unlike
heading
to
the
airport,
at
least
we
were
allowed
to
keep
on
our
shoes.
