The fort is awesome, I truly have seen many forts but this was a little different. The architecture is marvelous, the ventilation system which was made during that time is astounding. How thoughtful the kings were. The art on the outside walls of the fort is based on Hindu religious beliefs. And you will find the best carvings of Lord Mahavira on the huge mountain. Sahashtrabaahu temple is epic and gurudwara witth it's story depicts the humanity of people at that time. The fort stand still with ancient, medieval and british history. But no proper management of the fort, people are destroying the beauty by littering, writing on the walls of fort. Wish govt do something for the betterment of the place.

Auto rikshaw drops you upto here only. Due to heavy climb road rikshaw are not allowed from here to up side. You can go on the top walk by 20-25 min. And this one is very good option for exploring nature & gopichand parbat as well. You also can see here peacock & monkeys as well. Otherwise you can hire a cab or your own two wheeler/ car also allowed here.

Urvai gate is the main entrance of the massive fort. Worthy of at least two days to go through the whole palace and it's grandeur.

Frm Urvai gate⛩️ to reach Gwalior fort complex 🏰 u can see mesmerizing view of ⛰️Gopachal Parvat Jaina monuments which r a grp of Jain rock-cut carvings dated to between 7th-15th centuries.😳There r 5 clusters of monuments tht surround d hill⛰️, as can be seen in 1901 map🗾. South-West Grp :- termed as Trishalagiri, this grp is d first one encountered when driving to d Urvai Gate⛩️, just outside d fortifications. There r d oldest Jain monuments in Gwalior frm d post-gupta period. Archaeologist L.B. Singh dates them to 6th-8th cent AD. Urvahi grp :- in both sides of d road, just before entering d hilltop fort gate⛩️. These r d most visited since they r visible frm d road itself. There are 6 inscriptions from 1440–1453. Bst architectural 🏛️ tourist place as frm this gate ⛩️ u can reached Gwalior fort complex by trekking 🚶🏻of almost 1-2km & enjoy d beautiful view of Gwalior city frm fort boundary🏰. (depends on personal choice) there is another gate to enter d Gwalior Fort complex 👉🏻Gujari Mahal gate - known as ⛩️Badalgarh Gate, high slop of trekking🚶🏻 almost 1km.

Hiii...This is very remarkable and one of the best place in Gwalior fort. On the both side of the road there is many ancient sculpture of buddha and his pupils. They are very old build around 1500 years ago. Here some of the sculpture are worshiped and they are maintained very clean. Here one problem is that this road is very narrow to you need to park your vehicle very far away from the site and ascend the hill. You can enjoy very much around this site and feel the rich culture of India....Thank you very much...

You must use this gate if you want to reach the fort by car. Very convenient otherwise you will have to walk upwards for 25 minutes through the Kila gate.

Gwalior Fort, situated on top of a hill, finds its place among the best fortresses of India. It is also considered to be one of the most impenetrable forts in the country. Known for its great architecture and rich past, Gwalior Fort is a must-visit attraction when visiting Central India. And don't forget to see sound and light show at night .
