The place has great ambience and view. But for a cafe, it lacks the most basic aspects. Firstly, the food isn't good. You'd find much better food for less at any other decent cafe. Secondly, slow service and lack of kitchen staff makes the experience worse as you have to wait a ton to even get your starters or beverages/soups. Lastly, the management except the servers is rude to a different extent. They won't accept mistakes yet keep on arguing with the customers. (Happened with me!) Overall, that one star is only for the ambience.

We took a break at this place on our way back to Delhi for grabbing a quick lunch. The best part is that this place is just 5 mins from the highway... which makes it very attractive for intercity travelers who are bored from the obvious highway paratha and roti sabji options . The Kolkata cottage cheese burger is must for veggie lovers .... the ambiance is quite impressive with a pool view and airy terrace seating arrangement. The sandwiches are also quite filling!!

Pros : 1. Yummy food 2. Hygienic place 3. Polite and smart staff (something rare in Gwalior) 4. Swift orders ( ordered is served quickly) 5. THEY HIRE DIFFERENTLY ABLED STAFF. I loved this thing. Cons : need to low down food prices just a bit. Even 15% lesser will be good. Too expensive for a city like Gwalior

Staff was not having knowledge of their dishes. There was no social distancing. But they were enforcing to use poor whatsapp for placing menu. Their so called social distancing was fake. Cefe manager don't have any knowledge to solve problem of social distancing. He just know whatsapp. He was not open and flexible enough to get suggestions and learn and implement good practice to follow social distancing. I ordered virgin mojito, that was pure fake. Staff don't have knowledge of mojito

In the year 2017, Captain's Cafe opened its doors and was launched at City Centre which received great response from people since it was the beginning of a period when a lot of food ventures were being established across the city. After a short while, the whole cafe setup shifted to Garden Palace above GST Bhavan near Sirol, and that's where its actual glory began. Setting great standards for casual dining in the city of Gwalior, Captain's Cafe became a popular landmark for an impressive getaway for all those who looked for an escape from the chaos of city life and spend quality time with friends and acquaintances. Providing stunning views of scenic landscapes around the space, the cafe had been designed amazingly well with retro and vintage themed decor and ambience, that led to its expansive popularity among folks in the city and otherwise. On the other hand, the menu was just another interesting aspect that catered well to all of its visitors and regular customers with its subtle, unique, and fabulously delicious servings which were also creatively presented. This place certainly upped the ante for all the existing ventures that offered fine dining, despite of its faraway location from the city. It was the year 2018 when I discovered it, and immediately had an obsession with this place. It's hard to recollect the number of times I visited the cafe thereafter, and the number of recommendations I made to all my friends and family for this remarkable venture. It is 2024 currently and has been more than 2 years since I visited the place. I'd love to go back and try my favourite delicacies which included their lipsmacking pastas, cheese oozing Lasagna, and their refreshing mocktails.

Visited here on Feb 2022, experience no doubt was amazing but I wish if they can work a bit more on the authenticity of the dishes being served, out of all the dishes ordered, I personally found the fish and chips and the Cheese chilli toast the best out of the rest, ambiance is undoubtedly incredible, recommended

Really horrible experience for dinner in Captains cafe: 1. To pre-book a table, they asked to pay Rs. 500, only then they would reserve a table as the restaurant is very busy (It was barely 50% occupied when we reached at 8pm). They finally reserved a table for free when we questioned them. 2. Honey chilli potato was incredibly spicy (absolutely inedible). We asked them to take it back and replace immediately. Also asked them to make sure the rest of the order was less spicy. 3. Other dishes including Manchurian and Pad Thai were also spicy even after informing in advance. 4. They brought the Honey Chilli potato after we were done eating the rest of the food. 5. They had some local branded water called Jalnidhi in tiny 250ml bottles not even good quality mineral water.

The facility needs a bit of upkeep on the pool area and the washrooms. The interiors are beautiful and thought of nicely but need maintenance and cleanings. The staff is polite, serves you well and provide recommendations. The food is also good. A slight focus on infrastructure will bring back its glory.

WORST PLACE TO EAT IN GWALIOR The worst dining experience in Gwalior. We ordered what we thought was a nice family meal, turned out to be a nightmare. The grilled chicken was raw upon arrival and was promptly sent back. To my horror, the same raw chicken was reheated and served back. I denied service. The pasta that my children had, had a strand of hair in the sauce. And the absolute highlight was that we asked for hakka noodles when we placed our order, we got weirdly cooked spaghetti after we finished the edible items of our order. Upon asking for the bill and enquiring whether I should pay for the chicken that was raw and the noodles we didn't touch, the manager said he's helpless. Tried calling the owner and even messaged him. No response so far. DO NOT EAT HERE!!!

Place is good in terms of ambience but the food is below average. Ordered pasta, it was too dry - something like cooked in too hurry, replaced it on request, almost no change but this time had more liquid 😅 Drinks are good. Ordered citic attack and Devils poison. Recommendable.

A must-visit gem in Gwalior! While prices lean slightly towards the higher side, the exceptional taste justifies every rupee spent. This cafe is not just a place to eat; it's an incredible dine-in experience with an ambiance that elevates your visit to extraordinary heights.

The overall vibe and interior is fantastic. Food is out of the world, I ordered Alfredo Pasta and Chicken Grilled Pizza, and they both were very good and I can say they were the best I've ever had. I also had Lemon Ice Tea and it tasted quite average. The service was very slow as they are short in staff. Overall this cafe is one of the best in gwalior for dates and outings.

I visited this cafe for the first time with someone special n by my luck she loved the place. she had spaghetti 🍝 and i had Mexican salad 🥗, and after that we had an egg sandwich 🥪 at the cafe. Everything was so tasty, and the atmosphere was really nice. The ambience added to the overall experience. The food may have been pricey, but it was definitely worth every penny. It was absolutely delicious! You should visit here in the evening so you can sit outside. I highly recommend it!

Nice place started with an outstanding idea though it might need a bit of maintenance now. Food is well prepared. Liked their red sauce pasta the best. Even chicken wings were good.

Recently I have visited captains cafe. Atmosphere is good and lights and resort view in night is awesome made my day. But while come for food and services little bit slow and unsatisfied wise pizza base was not delicious as we have waited much for order but garnish was good and dark chocolate shake was also good in taste. Please improve this service rest was good. Place is good. Thankyou captain's cafe 😊 hope we will find changes on next visit

Its a very good place. Food is tasty but it's little spicy so make sure you tell them to keep it a little plain. Staff is good. Service wait time is about 10-15 min depending upon your order type.

Disappointed with service. Insect in noodles & hair in fried rice. They took 30 minutes to serve mineral water that too hot in this summer. Nobody is accountable there neither service staff/manager nor owner. Mind it they charge even for what you not ordered.

Ambiance is good but food is overpriced and taste depends on what you order, few dishes are tasty though few have very average taste. We ordered tomato yum soup that was really good.
