A holy place in Gwalior. An ancient water reservoir situated near anand nagar. 40 feet deep historical Sagar Tal of Gwalior. It was constructed to ensure water supply to the people in the event of a siege to the Gwalior fort. Today it is estimated to have 5,000 ton siltation. Therefore it has 15 feet water and 25 feet of siltation. Municipal Corporation proposed Rs. 7.71 crore budget to clean it. #GwaliorHistory It need maintenance there is so much of garbage in the water. Ask the government where did the money to clean this water go.

This pond is of historic importance but it is facing negligence of authorities since long time. The water here is very dirty and unhygenic. People come here for the possession of idols of god and goddess during Hindu festive seasons. In normal days, people come here to pray during evening hours. There is also a cremation ground adjoining Sagar Taal.
