We were camping nearby and decided to come to the beach for a few hours! This was the perfect place to go! Bathrooms and free parking! There is also a nice covered picnic area! There's no lifeguard on duty, but someone was injured while we were there and park rangers and ems reasoned immediately.

This is a great place to visit! There is a very nice beach access, with bathrooms, changing rooms, concessions. There’s ramp and stairs. Parking is free but fills up real fast. If you drive down to the Fort Macon part (pass the beach access) there is free parking again and another beach access. This beach is not for swimming, but you can still lay on the beach, walk, pick sea shells and still get your feet wet. Lots of fishing on this one. You can also walk around Fort Macon, it’s really cool and great picture place for sure! Highly recommend it all!

The fort is fascinating. The renovations and museum are a must see. We also spent a few hours on the beach, which was perfect.

Our tour guide was very informative. He has worked there for 10 years and he is very knowledgeable. It's a nice place to walk around and learn some history. It is very well taken care of, and I'm glad no one will tear it down.

I've visited public access beach multiple times during every summer. This is by far one of the best beach access areas I've ever seen. It has a very large parking area. That being said this is very a very popular site. The parking area can fill up quickly on a weekend. Their park rangers police and signs at the entrance I'm in the parking lot is full. It has several picnic areas with charcoal grills, lean public bathrooms, concession area, outdoor showers, covered viewing area, and a large ramp that leads to the beach. My favorite part is that it also has an indoor shower area and changing rooms. It's a small fee but well worth it. We are semi-local and take day trips to the area. It's nice to be able to shower and change after the beach so that we can look presentable, and go somewhere for dinner afterwards before taking the trip home. About 5 minutes from the beach access is the actual for itself. It is a very interesting and well-kept attraction. It also has beach access.

Beautiful beach water was clear today. I really love all this park has to offer including hiking trails and a free museum.

Really interesting place. Amazing views of the water. The history is impressive and the guide was great telling the story of the fort.
