Puppy
with
parvovirus
saved,
however,
would
not
recommend
this
vet
to
anybody.
Pro:
In
May
2022,
our
9-month-old
German
Shepherd
was
admitted
to
Aniwell
vets
with
Parvovirus
(although
fully
vaccinated).
Our
dog
was
in
a
really
bad
condition
and
was
immediately
given
IV
fluids
and
taken
care
of
very
well
by
one
of
the
lovely
nurses.
We
were
welcome
to
visit
him
every
day,
which
we
appreciated.
Without
being
in
Aniwell’s
care,
our
dog
likely
would
not
have
survived,
so
we
are
very
thankful
to
them
for
saving
his
life.
Cons:
1)
When
our
dog
was
admitted,
we
were
adamant
that
we
were
to
be
contacted
if
anything
other
than
IV
fluids
or
paracetamol
was
prescribed.
On
the
3rd
day,
we
had
planned
to
bring
him
home,
however,
our
dog’s
case
was
handed
over
to
another
vet,
who
decided
to
prescribe
him
MORPHINE
WITHOUT
INFORMING
US.
When
we
visited,
his
state
had
worsened
from
the
previous
day,
so
we
had
to
wait
for
the
adverse
side
effects
of
the
morphine
to
wear
off
before
bringing
him
home
on
the
4th
day.
2)
Initially,
we
were
told
the
cost
of
keeping
him
in
for
7
days
would
be
£2,000.
We
were
surprised
to
end
up
with
a
BILL
of
£1952,
after
bringing
him
home
after
only
4
days.
3)
We
could
see
our
dog’s
mental
state
deteriorating
every
day.
While
this
was
partly
due
to
him
feeling
unwell,
it
was
likely
not
helped
by
the
fact
that
he
was
kept
in
a
SMALL,
HOT
room,
with
NO
DAYLIGHT.
He
had
little
space
to
move
around
or
go
to
the
toilet
and
was
desperate
to
escape
for
a
wee
every
time
we
visited.
We
believe
this
situation
put
him
off
from
eating
and
drinking,
further
worsening
his
condition.
4)
An
electrical
cable
for
the
IV
machine
was
left
to
hang
in
front
of
our
dog’s
face,
which
he
could
have
easily
chewed
through.
