Thoroughly enjoyed my six nights at Imano Kyoto! The location is great and was only a short walk to any bus or train stop in any direction. All the convenience stores are within walking distance as well. Staff were lovely and able to assist me with my daily plans. The beds are comfortable and the capsule is equipped with two lights, a shelf, a power port and a usb port. Furthermore each bed is assigned three coathangers. The hostel is perhaps the cleanest that I have experienced thus far and the cleaners always greet you with a smile. I have travelled during the off-season so it is relatively quiet here but once again demonstrating its superb location, only a short (15-20 min) walk will take you to Pontocho Alley. My only minor gripes with this superb accomodation is the coffee machines used for breakfast are unavaliable during the day/night and the kitchen downstairs is largely unequipped (one plate and no bowls). If you plan on eating out each night, this will not be an issue. If I return to Kyoto in the future I will almost certainly be staying here again!

A clean and pleasant hostel to stay. Staff were very friendly and accomodating. There is a cafe to enjoy a hot and cold drinks. The wooden bed creeks. If you stay on the lower bed and are a light sleeper, you're going to have a bad time sleeping. However it was a pleasant stay overall.

I love your hospitality. Thanks for warm welcome when i was came at 11.30pm. Very helpfull staff, very clean bed and toilet, modern backpacker hostel with minimalism design architecture, their facilities is so nice(lift, electronic key, so many toilet in each floor, have a table in corridor to packing). Unfortunately i didn't take a photo of your hostel because i must go back to Tokyo in earlier morning.

10-15 minutes walk from Kiyomizu Gojo station. Very close to Kiyomizu Dera and Gion. Staff are 24 hours. The room has keypad entry, but because the keypad doesn't beep it can be confusing on how to use at first. It is nice not to carry a key. Rooms are quite small and cramped if fully occupied. Bottom bunk will hear sounds from top bunk every time they move. It's actually quite irritating. Bed is "ok" not bad not the best. PIECE hostel beds are way better. You have your own light and plug by the bed. Elevator is nice so you won't need to carry luggage upstairs. Shower water pressure is VERY GOOD. So strong. The hostel layout does not lead to making any friends, not much socialization here. The kitchen is in B1F and very minimal. Closest family mart is about 5 minutes walk.

I checked in with a friend for a few days to visit Kyoto. We shared a room with 4 other people, but we had still enough space and it's a calm place to stay. As we booked it some weeks in advance we got a really good price, which was for this good quality of the hostel, actually cheap. The bathroom on the floor is nice and clean, like the whole hostel. You can wash and dry your clothes for 100 Yen per hour and get breakfast for 700 Yen in the lounge of the hotel, which is next to the reception. A good experience and a nice place, which I would visit another time, the next time I'm in Kyoto.

A very clean, luxurious feeling hostel. It was very safe, great location, super friendly staff and comfortable common spaces. They let you leave your luggage during the day after checkout which is such a help.

Ok so, we didn't stay in the shared dorms, we had a "japanese style room"which is basically a hotel room. Huge comfy bed, private shower and bathroom and as clean as can be. This has been a better stay than a lot of the hotels we have been in and the price was cheap. I can't comment on the more traditional hostel aspect but from what i can tell this is a very high end, comfortable clean hostel that is more hotel in comfort and hostel in price.

The staff are nice, the location is pretty good and the hostel is really well designed. It looks lovely. But i do feel it's a little too much style over substance. The kitchen is very basic and not always clean. They don't have a sharp knife or other utensils outside of the immediately obvious. There also isn't anywhere to lock your stuff away apart from tiny safes in the hall but not big enough for a laptop or camera.

I only stayed one night but had a really great experience at this hostel. The bed was really comfortable but what made it for me was the staff. I wondered into a Takoyaki party on my way out to dinner and ended up staying in instead. For 500¥, you got a drink and you got to make Takoyaki. The experience was really cool and being able to talk to locals about Japanese life was super cool. The staff were all really nice and hospitable. I'd definitely stay here again.

Really pretty. The bed is comfy even if the room lack a bit of space. You have a light and you can plug your phone on your bed. The restroom is really clean and quite big. I liked the café and the convivial space in each floor.

A lovely hostel in a nice neighbourhood, direct bus to Kyoto Station and close to a lot of parks, temples and shopping areas. The double room had its own shower and toilet, but the sleeping area was rather cramped, without proper storage for your luggage. Also, the cafe appears to be quite expensive.
