(Translated by Google) A wonderful architectural museum designed by I. M. Pei. It is said that the designer and founder imagined Taoyuan Township, but nods. To be honest, before I went to see it, I thought that religious people would show off their power and think that it was a building to increase the number of missionaries, but the splendor of the building and exhibits is a touching word. I think it is the best museum in Japan. The level is different from the small museums that the rich people started as a hobby, which is sometimes found in rural areas, so please visit and enjoy yourself without the strange bias of religion.

The Miho Museum is a world-renowned art institution situated in the Shiga Prefecture of Japan, near the city of Kyoto. (Translated by Google) Miho Museum of Art in Japan is the work of Chinese architect I.M. Pei. It belongs to a private art museum. It collects art treasures from ancient civilizations such as China, India, Egypt, and the Erhe Valley. The most impressive is the site of the ancient city of Pompeii, Italy Unearthed the entire wall mosaic inlaid murals, the museum directly embedded the entire 2,000-year-old monument on the floor of the first floor of the empty area. When standing on the second floor and looking down to see the whole picture, the thousand-year-old monuments are in front of you. Shocked! In addition, to walk from the parking lot to the main building of the art gallery, you must pass through the cave and walk over the suspension bridge to reach the main building, which really confirms the scene of Tao Yuanming’s Peach Blossom Spring. There is a kind of ancient moon shining in the present city. The fantasy feeling! It is very worthwhile to visit. I also recommend the visitor center restaurant next to the parking lot. You must come here to dine. The tofu set is recommended first. Although the price is the cheapest, it is completely handmade and purely organic , It's a pity not to eat!

Incredible architecture poetrily hides in the mountains that near the Kyoto Station about less than one hour drive distance. Strongly suggest you rent a car from Kyoto Station, we rented it from 11:00 to 19:00 and we didn’t experience traffic jam even when we back to the Station from museum around 16:00 pm. For photography lover, you do need zoom lens from extra-wide angle to abt 100mm. However, it’s not allow photograph inside the exhibition. You cannot take any pictures about paintings, statues or any concrete things in the exhibition of this museum.

Possibly one of the most rewarding places to visit in Japan. Its interesting that this museum is hardly mentioned in any online guides and we were told by someone who had visited. From Kyoto it is a train and then local bus to get there - around 90 minutes all up. We deliberately timed it to be there as the museum opened. What an amazing place. It was designed by I.M Pei and it is one of the most visually impressive buildings I have ever seen. The collections are quite small but what they have is amazing. There is also a wonderful restaurant that serves amazing organic vegetarian food against a wonderful view of the garden and valley. A stunning, stunning experience and absolutely worth the effort to get there.

(Translated by Google) It is located about 15 minutes by car on a mountain road after strolling around the Shigaraki kiln. The autumn leaves on the way to the museum were also beautiful, and I was very excited. It's a complete reservation system on the web now, so you can rest assured that it won't be too crowded. I imagined that plums and cherry blossoms would bloom beautifully in spring on the premises, and it became a place I would like to visit again. Remarkable building. In my opinion, this is the best architecture I have seen in Japan. The entire experience of arriving at the visitor center, walking through the tunnel, and entering the museum is very well orchestrated. When you go passed the tunnel and get to the gate of the museum, it feels like you have arrived in a secluded world. In addition, the spaces inside of the architecture are very nicely curated with their rigorous daylighting, material qualities, and impeccable details. Overall, this museum is definitely worth a special visit.

(Translated by Google) It is a fashionable museum on a large site. I felt that it was built at a very high cost. There is a reception building and a museum building, and you can pick up and drop off this passage by electric car. It was said that a reservation was necessary, but it happened that it was okay on the day. It is 1300 yen for adults. (Translated by Google) I imagined the museum in the mountains, Taoyuan Township ... Nod. As I walked through the tunnel from the parking lot, my tension increased. It was the time of autumn leaves, but the cherry blossom trees were planted on both sides, so the spring scenery would be wonderful. The architecture was also fashionable and good. I wondered if I like the exhibits. Some people were looking around as if they were obliged, rather than watching. I took a bus from Ishiyama station, but the driving skill of the driver of Teisan Hunan Transportation, who drives a narrow mountain road, was amazing. 2020.10.20

If you're a fan of architecture this is a good place to visit. The mixture between a smoewhat modern take of architecture and nature is amazing. Although the place itself is great, it's a bit difficult to reach as there's only one bus that goes there as far as I know. Also, the exhibits are not the main attraction in the museum in my opinion. Overall it's a great experience and there are a lot of great places to take photos.

Came here for the architecture rather than the art collections or exhibition. It’s a museum showing the personal collections of a Japanese business woman. Can imagine how wonderful it would be in the seasons of cherry blossom or red leafs. Public transport is easy however need to be super careful about the bus schedule.

This museum was designed by I.M.Pei who is known for the architect designed the glass pyramid of Louvre Museum. The stainless steel tunnel leads to the museum is so nice. I heard the tunnel looks more beautiful in spring because the pink color of the cherry blossoms at the entrance to the tunnel reflect its stainless steel wall. Unfortunately the buds of cherry blossoms were less than usual this year 2021. I would like to go there in the season of cherry blossoms again. 🌸🌸

Love the mountain vibe. Enjoy triangle theme architecture. It seems like a more famous place for Chinese speaking people because I.M Pei was a world famous Chinese architect. My Japanese tutor seems only interested in it after I told her that he is the same architect who makes Pyramide du Louvre…

The museum architecture is the main point of the visit. The Cherry blossom paradise theme of a man who escaped from war stumbled upon this place. Compared to the Louvre and the National Mesuem North Wing, the small museum exhibits I.E.Pei style of merging nature into the structure. The Bell Tower is interesting viewing it from afar and it represents the Japanese spirit of calm and harmony. Grateful of Miho Sect for their effort in their contribution to enhance our awareness of the greatness of deity and be humble.

Sehr eindrucksvoll.

An easy day trip by train to Ishiyama, then a lovely bus ride to the museum, this is definitely worth a visit. You can buy tickets to the exhibit plus round trip bus fare from the ticket machine next to the bus stop (available in Japanese and English). The museum's collection is interesting and well-done. And the grounds are beautiful and calming. An audio guide is offered in a number of languages, including Japanese, English, Mandarin, Cantonese and more, so please take advantage. The audio guide would enhance the visit tremendously for all visitors. And if taking a bus back, please be mindful of the bus times. I'm glad I spent the day here.

Really enjoyed our visit here, though it requires a commitment in time and money to enjoy it's beauty. We were lucky that the cherry blossoms where in bloom. What a spectacular walk then up through the blossoms into the tunnel and out onto the bridge. Museum was equally good. We enjoyed the Noh mask exhibit. Then the remaining rooms.

The design of this museum was inspired by a Chinese poem, which says when you think it’s a dead end, you will find paradise after you passing through path with light and darkness. And this museum can resemble this poem so perfectly. And not only the tunnel is amazing, but the museum itself is so beautifully designed, Mr. I.M.Pei wishes to bring natural light to the exhibit so there are windows by different angles from ceiling to walls and makes visitors feel so much blended with the nature even we are inside the museum. Deeply appreciated such master piece. And thank god I have come to visit it even though it is quite far away from town center.

Hiei, so I went to the first day and the hotel in Kusatsu. I stayed in Kyoto and checked the Miho Museum, but I couldn't go because I saw information that a reservation was required. Now each facility is making all reservations. It seems that it takes a lot of time to go to each facility. Miho Museum is also on Tuesday. It means that we will accept reservations for one week from Tuesday, one week later. Since we are planning to make a reservation on November 10th, make a reservation on the smartphone on Tuesday, November 3rd and receive a notification of consent from the other party. You have to show the notice of consent of the smartphone when you enter. That's right. The Kyoto Museum is also the same. It's a time when it's quite time-consuming. When I called, I was treated very poorly and felt very unpleasant. The facility looks good, but people are not good. I'm very sorry that I wanted to go there. The tofu I bought as a souvenir was a pudding-like tofu with a very smooth texture.
