We had our wedding here. It was just the perfect venue.. with beautiful surroundings and it was just a perfect day! Everything I could have hoped for. Abbigail and the team are just really helpful and accommodating and very professional at what they do. They made me feel at ease all through the planning and on the day. Nothing was enough trouble. I have stayed in more than 100 different hotels but have never felt as comfortable and at home as I do at Woodlands. The room was spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated and a subtle, fresh scent rounded everything off. Dinner was on point, the staff polite, courteous and always with a smile on their faces. The bar offers a generous selection of drinks and the whole area is inviting for a stroll. What more can I say? My wife and I were more than delighted and will definitely be back. Big thanks to James and his colleagues.

Would have been lovely if it wasn't for all the noise. Booked a night to have a break (went for the luxury room) and was greeted by noise from builders working on the roof. When I asked "when will they stop" was told 4/5 and they'd be starting early. Was then moved rooms just to be subjected to a staff party with bass rocking the room til well after 10. Not worth the money and hasn't been the restful stay I'd hoped for...

We got married here and legitimately had the best day ever. I would do it all again next week if I could. All our guests absolutely loved it and had an amazing day. The orangey was absolutely perfect.

The receptionist has been rude to me on multiple occasions. I stayed here in May and left a kindle in my room. I contacted the hotel the next day and they said they had found the item. They confirmed the colour of the cover without me asking and said they can send it to me in the post. I followed up weeks later, gave my details again and didn't hear back. When the item didn't appear, I called again only to be told they never had it. Since then, the item is missing. When I have called to enquire, I've been accused of lying and treated really poorly.

Went to look at the hotel ready to book a room for nephews wedding. The staff were very helpful in showing us 3 different types of rooms to help us decide what room to book. They take your card number for the booking but don't take the money until you arrive. There is a 48hour cancellation cooling off period.

My son and his beautiful wife married at Woodlands on Sunday 30th April. From the second we arrived we felt welcomed by the whole team and the attention to detail both inside and outside in the the hotel grounds was second to none. The orangerie looked incredible and the whole team of staff transformed it magically between the service, wedding breakfast and finally the evening celebration. The delicious food, wines and service were all faultless. The whole day was perfection and we cannot thank the staff enough for looking after us so well and giving us a wonderful celebration.

Phyllis made our stay, she was so pleasant and nothing was too much trouble, she never stopped, the reception staff was really lovely too.

My daughter booked her wedding in 2025, unfortunately due to unforseen circumstances she has had to cancel, when asked about the £1500 deposit, I have paid the wedding planner was blunt and unsympathetic and just told her you have singned a contract and as such lost your (my money), outstanding service. I would not reccomended this wedding service to anybody, avoid at all costs.

Could not have asked for more than what the Woodlands team did, it was truly an amazing day ❤️ All our guests haven’t stop talking about it and saying how it was the best wedding they’ve been too, and that was down to the guys at Woodlands help as well!! None of our guests had been to Woodlands before and they all absolutely loved it ❤️ Abbigail, thank you for listening and replying to all of my daft questions, you made me feel at ease throughout all of this. Nothing was too much for you, you responded so quickly and I couldn’t have asked for anyone better. You are a credit to the Woodlands Hotel. Charlotte, thank you for everything on the day previous and the day of the wedding, you were amazing too! I know some of our guests were a little rowdy, but you handle them with so much more patience than I would have done haha! So thank you for that, again Woodlands are so lucky to have you! We could not have dreamed for a better venue for our wedding, it was honestly the best day of our lives. Abbigail, Charlotte and the whole team added so much attention to detail to make the rooms switch arounds so perfect, everything came together so much better than I could ever have imagined. The orangery is such a magical room, the lighting, the attention to detail, everything!! if you’re thinking of booking the Woodlands then you absolutely need too, you will 100000% not regret it! The food was incredible, our guests haven’t stopped talking about the beef haha! I think one guests was even licking his plate on a picture I seen lol 🤣 but I don’t blame him as it was absolutely amazing! There is absolutely nothing to complain about. They work so well with all your venders, they make the planning of the wedding stress free! The whole day was perfection from start to finish! We will forever be grateful to the whole of the team for making our day as special as it truly was. We both get to come back for our friends wedding in 2025, so really excited to come back and see the venue again and re live the magical experience the Woodlands offers. I feel emotional writing this, as I would absolutely love to do our day again. And without a shadow of a doubt I would pick Woodlands ten times over! I will never not recommend this venue enough! I got married at Woodlands on Thursday 14th September and I am blown away by how the day went from start to finish. Firstly my wedding co-ordinator Jess was outstanding and nothing was ever too much for her, I had a slight issue with the wedding package and Jess had resolved it within 2 days of being advised, she is outstanding at her job. Charlotte was our toastmaster on the day and she was superb, both her and Jess are a credit to Woodlands. The food, service and staff were nothing short of amazing and I genuinely do not have one complaint from the day. I wish I could do it all over again and would highly recommend booking your wedding/special events here

Very friendly and helpful staff, was there for a wedding, got moved from my original room as someone else had complained about theirs and they gave me the room that had been complained about. No hot water, door broken. After a further complaint I was moved into a nicer room and was happy with that one. Food great and wedding was very well organised.

The wedding we attended here was 5*. However we felt that the woodlands lacked in certain areas. The room we stayed in overnight had faults with general maintenance and the corridors replicated this. Again the service from the manager wasn’t 5* he didn’t seem overly fussed about the simple requests we were asking. However, the staff included in the wedding were fantastic, the wedding food (and breakfast the next day) was delicious and venue lovely

We had a great (rare child free) stay, the staff were attentive and offered great service. Food was excellent and rooms were nicely decorated and spotlessly clean

Only attended a seminar held at this location. Found the staff very polite and professional. Set in very quiet well tended grounds. I will seriously consider staying here in the near future.

This place is BEAUTIFUL!! Especially for a wedding. Schedule an appointment and talk to someone who works there about having your wedding here. I haven't had mine yet, so I'll update after, but the land and building are exquisite. The people were all lovely and the packages were extremely reasonable. I can't wait to have my wedding here!!

Such a beautiful venue. We had our wedding here in May 2022 and everything went better than we could've imagined. Our ceremony was outside and thankfully the weather was perfect. Everything was handled wonderfully by the venue staff. We'd had plenty of communication with our coordinator, Jessica, leading up to our day and everything planned was executed brilliantly by everyone there. We were able to plan our day exactly how we wanted and it was so quick and easy to make decisions with her help. Our guests commented on how well looked after they felt by the venue. We'd ordered Canapes to be served during our drinks reception and wow, they were so delicious. Don't hesitate to order some. We had Indian food for our breakfast and the hotel was really accomodating to our caterer, everything went smoothly. The evening buffet was a great crowd pleaser. We went for the BBQ and the 1st thing to disappear was the Mediterranean Veg Skewers! They were so good. Highly recommend! We got lucky and had our wedding breakfast and evening reception in the new orangery and it's truly stunning. We didn't need any extra decor, we just had our centerpieces and it truly wowed everyone. We'd definitely recommend The Woodlands to anyone.

We held our wedding here on 07/08/22 and all I can say is if you are considering this venue then do it - you won’t regret it! Firstly, thank you to Jessica for all of your wedding planning and help which guided me smoothly to arrange a wedding in just 15 weeks! There’s is no question that I couldn’t ask. And the menu tasting (included) was a fabulous experience meaning that there were so many possible options for the big day. The day itself ran exceptionally and ALL of the staff could not have done enough! Secondly, thank you to everyone who worked on and who was involved with that day. You all adhered to every single request like it was zero effort and went above and beyond in all aspects. Finally, thank you to Marc the toastmaster. Your hosting skills and manner was nothing short of elite. There’s nothing I can say other than thank you a thousand times over - we genuinely had the best day ever. Faultless. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous! If you don’t believe me then check out the drone shots on the official website. We are still awaiting the photographers photos but the ones we are receiving from friends and family confirm that we chose the perfect place and the good old English weather was on our side. The bedrooms are luxurious! Huge, cosy, classy and comfy. The canapés, room dressing and absolutely everything about this place is perfect. The location makes you feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere (or the depths of North Yorkshire) when really you’re just 15 minutes away from Elland Road and the M62. We and our family were still treat like royalty at breakfast the following morning and everything was to one side ready for us to collect/take home. I guess some may say that I’m bias but I can imagine that not every newlywed couple feels the way we do about their wedding day and venue. If I could give Woodlands Hotel 6 stars then I really would! We recently held a Wake at the Woodlands Hotel. While a Wake is not a nice event, it was made absolutely beautiful and that was all thanks to the Woodlands Hotel. It's a beautiful place with lovely options for a very respectable Wake. The room was beautiful and led on to a wonderful patio, the team were professional and gave outstanding service while also respecting our privacy. The whole process from the point of enquiry through to delivery on the day was pefect. Thank you to everyone involved.

This hotel was amazing it really looked after my friends wedding we thoroughly enjoyed it. The drinks were a little expensive tho. The room was £110's including breakfast, which was either a cooked breakfast or a cold one ie cereal, fruit and toast which u made yourself. The receptionist was really polite and friendly, when u walked in and went to get your key for your room, the hotel looked/was really clean. Easy access for wheelchairs also had a lift. The room was really spotless also had a on suite shower room and toilet. They even had little shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. The room had a little table were you could make tea/coffee. A tv but no remote, an air conditioning. The bed was really comfy had a great nights sleep dint want to get out of it. Think you had to vacate your room by 11am. I would defo stay here again.

Room was nice although could do with updating ie adding air con & perhaps a smart TV, evening meal was delicious, had room service for breakfast no toast but sent jam & butter? No milk or sugar for coffee pot which came with breakfast or spoons extra knives, loved staying here but being charged for breakfast to be brought to your room a tad poor with things missing
